Intended use
The COM-DEX Remote Mic device is a microphone with an integrated ra-
dio intended for transmitting sound to a COM-DEX connected to the user’s
hearing aid(s). The aim is to improve the hearing aid user’s ability to hear
speech in difficult listening situations. For optimal connectivity the device
and the COM-DEX must be within sight of each other.
NOTE
Your Remote Mic is only intended to be used with a COM-DEX (with firm-
ware V1.3 or later).

USING YOUR DEVICE
Charging your device - see illustration 3
Connect the USB cable to your device and the power supply. It takes ap-
proximately 3 hours to charge your device.
NOTE
Before you can use the device, you must disconnect the USB cable.
Battery life: 8 hours streaming.
Turning the device on and off
To turn on your device:
●Press the power button and keep it pressed for 3 seconds.
To turn off your device:
●Press the power button and keep it pressed for 3 seconds.
The device turns off automatically if it has not been streaming sound for
more than 30 minutes.
NOTE
To achieve the best sound possible, always turn your COM-DEX Remote Mic
off when not in use.

Pairing the device
Pairing your device to your COM-DEX
To pair your device to your COM-DEX for the first time, follow these steps:
1. Make sure that your COM-DEX is in pairing mode.
2. Turn on your device. The first time you do this, the device will be set
in pairing mode and it will automatically connect to your COM-DEX.
This can take a few minutes.
NOTE
Once you have paired your device to your COM-DEX, it will remain so and
will connect automatically if your COM-DEX is on.
Resetting the COM-DEX Remote Mic for a new pairing:
1. Turn on your device.
2. Reset your device to factory settings by pushing both buttons for 5
seconds. The device will be set to pairing mode.
3. Follow the pairing procedure described above.

Remove the protective film before using your device.
Place the device on the shirt collar of the person you'd like to hear.
Turn on the device. The Remote Mic starts streaming automatically.

NOTE
While streaming, your hearing aid microphones will be turned off. Once the
Remote Mic stops streaming, the hearing aid microphones will be turned on
again after a few seconds. If you want to turn on your hearing aid micro-
phones while streaming, simply press the Room Off button on your COM-DEX.
To start and stop streaming, simply push the streaming button on your
Remote Mic. While streaming, the LED will show a green light.
NOTE
If you want to operate your device via the COM-DEX app, you'll need to up-
date the app.
Sound adjustment
The sound that is streamed from the device to COM-DEX can be adjusted
in 3 levels. Simply push the power button on the side of the device and
the sound level will be altered in a three step circle (highest level – lowest
level – back to normal level).

Your device has two LEDs that flash with different colours. The purpose of
these colours is to inform you of which mode your device is in at any giv-
en time.
●Constant red light on the bottom LED: The device is charging.
●Constant green light on the bottom LED: The device is fully charged.
●Flashing blue-red-blue-red light on both LEDS: The device is ready to
be paired.

●Flashing blue light on the top LED: The device is on, but there is no
connection to the paired COM-DEX.
●Flashing green light on the top LED: The device is on and connected
to the COM-DEX, but it is not streaming.
●Constant green light on the top LED: The device is on and streaming.
●Occasionally flashing red light on both LEDs: The battery is low.
Maintenance
●Clean the device with a damp cloth. Do not use any liquids or chemi-
cals and do not immerse in liquids.
●When the device is not in use keep it in a dry location out of reach of
children and pets.
●Never try to open or repair the device yourself. This may only be done
by authorised technicians.

Warnings
Do not leave the device unattended while charging.
Your device should be stored and transported within the temperature
and humidity ranges of -10° to +50°C (14°F to 122°F) and <90% RH.
Your device is designed to operate from 5°C (41°F) to 40°C (122°F).
Keep the device protected from dust or external particles.
We recommend using a 5V up to 500 mA USB adaptor.
Do not use the device in mines or other areas with explosive gases.
When the device is connected via micro USB cable to external mains-
operated equipment such as a charger, PC, audio source or similar, this
equipment must comply with IEC 60950-1, IEC 62368-1, IEC 60601-1 or
equivalent safety standards.
Only the accessories and cable that are included in the sales box must
be used. Using cables other than those specified or provided may result
in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic
immunity of this equipment and result in improper operation.

Information regarding disposal
Do not dispose of hearing aids, hearing aid accessories and batteries
along with ordinary household waste.
Hearing aids, batteries and hearing aid accessories should be disposed of
at sites intended for electrical waste and electronic equipment, or given to
your hearing care professional for safe disposal.

Bedoeld gebruik
De COM-DEX Remote Mic is een microfoon met geïntegreerde radio die is
bedoeld om geluid naar een COM-DEX te verzenden die met het
hoortoestel of de hoortoestellen van de gebruiker is verbonden. Het doel
is de gebruiker spraak in moeilijke luistersituaties beter te laten horen.
Voor een optimale verbinding moeten het apparaat en de COM-DEX
elkaar kunnen bereiken.
LET OP
Uw Remote Mic is alleen bedoeld voor gebruik met een COM-DEX (met
firmware V1.3 of later).

UW APPARAAT GEBRUIKEN
Uw apparaat laden – zie afbeelding 3
Sluit de USB-kabel aan tussen uw apparaat en de voeding. Het opladen
van uw apparaat duurt ca. 3 uur.
LET OP
Voordat u uw apparaat kunt gebruiken, moet u de USB-kabel ontkoppelen.
Gebruiksduur batterij: 8 uur streaming.
Het apparaat aan- en uitzetten
Uw apparaat aanzetten:
●Druk op de aan/uit-knop en houd deze 3 seconden ingedrukt.
Uw apparaat uitzetten:
●Druk op de aan/uit-knop en houd deze 3 seconden ingedrukt.
Het apparaat schakelt automatisch uit als er meer dan 30 minuten geen
geluid is gestreamd.
LET OP
Voor het best mogelijke geluid moet u uw COM-DEX Remote Mic altijd
uitzetten als u deze niet gebruikt.

Het apparaat koppelen
Uw apparaat aan uw COM-DEX koppelen
Doorloop de volgende stappen om uw apparaat voor de eerste keer aan
uw COM-DEX te koppelen:
1. Zorg ervoor dat uw COM-DEX in de koppelstand staat.
2. Zet uw apparaat aan. Bij de eerste keer aanzetten start uw apparaat
in de koppelstand en verbindt automatisch met uw COM-DEX. Dit kan
een paar minuten duren.
LET OP
Als uw apparaat eenmaal aan uw COM-DEX is gekoppeld, blijft het
apparaat gekoppeld en zal automatisch verbinding zoeken zodra uw
COM-DEX is aangezet.
De COM-DEX Remote Mic resetten voor opnieuw koppelen:
1. Zet uw apparaat aan.
2. Reset uw apparaat naar de fabrieksinstellingen door beide knoppen 5
seconden in te drukken. Het apparaat wordt in de koppelstand gezet.
3. Volg de hierboven beschreven koppelprocedure.

Verwijder de beschermende folie voordat u uw apparaat gebruikt.
Bevestig het apparaat aan de kraag van de persoon die u graag wilt
horen.
Zet het apparaat aan. De Remote Mic start het streamen automatisch.

LET OP
Tijdens het streamen zijn de microfoons van uw hoortoestel uitgeschakeld.
Zodra de Remote Mic met streamen stopt, worden de microfoons van uw
hoortoestel na enkele seconden weer ingeschakeld. Als u de microfoons van
uw hoortoestel tijdens het streamen wilt inschakelen, drukt u gewoon op de
Geluiddempknop op uw COM-DEX.
Om het streamen te starten en te stoppen, drukt u gewoon op de
streaming-knop op uw Remote Mic. Tijdens het streamen brandt de LED
groen.
LET OP
Als u uw apparaat via de COM-DEX-app wilt bedienen, moet u de app
updaten.
Het geluid aanpassen
Het van het apparaat naar COM-DEX gestreamde geluid kan in 3 niveaus
worden afgesteld. Druk op de aan/uit-knop aan de zijkant van het
apparaat om het geluidsniveau in drie stappen aan te passen (hoogste
niveau – laagste niveau – terug naar normaal niveau).

Uw apparaat heeft twee LED's die met verschillende kleuren knipperen.
Deze kleuren zijn bedoeld om u te informeren over de stand van het
apparaat op een bepaald moment.
●Onderste LED brandt constant rood: Het apparaat laadt op.

●Onderste LED brandt constant groen: Het apparaat is volledig
opgeladen.
●Beide LED's knipperen blauw-rood-blauw-rood: Het apparaat is klaar
om gekoppeld te worden.
●Bovenste LED knippert blauw: Het apparaat is aan, maar er is geen
verbinding met de gekoppelde COM-DEX.
●Bovenste LED knippert groen: Het apparaat is aan en verbonden met
de COM-DEX, maar streamt niet.
●Bovenste LED brandt constant groen: Het apparaat is aan en streamt.
●Beide LED's knipperen af en toe rood: De batterij is bijna leeg.
Onderhoud
●Reinig het apparaat met een vochtige doek. Gebruik geen vloeistoffen
en chemicaliën en dompel niet onder in vloeistoffen.
●Wanneer het apparaat niet in gebruik is, bewaar het dan op een droge
locatie en buiten het bereik van kinderen en huisdieren.
●Probeer nooit zelf het apparaat te openen of te repareren. Dit mag
uitsluitend worden gedaan door een bevoegde monteur.

Waarschuwingen
Laat het apparaat tijdens het opladen niet onbeheerd achter.
Zorg er bij transport en opslag van uw apparaat voor dat de
temperatuur tussen -10 °C en +50 °C (-14 °F en 122 °F) en de
luchtvochtigheid <90% rV blijft.
Uw apparaat is geschikt voor gebruik tussen 5 °C (41 °F) en 40 °C (122
°F).
Bescherm het apparaat tegen stof of externe deeltjes.
Wij raden aan om een 5V 500mA USB-adapter te gebruiken.
Gebruik het apparaat nooit in mijnen of in een andere omgeving met
explosieve gassen.
Wanneer het apparaat via een micro-USB-kabel is aangesloten op
externe, op netstroom functionerende apparatuur, zoals een oplader,
pc, audiobron en dergelijke, dient deze apparatuur te voldoen aan IEC
60950-1, IEC 62368-1, IEC 60601-1 of gelijkwaardige veiligheidsnormen.
Gebruik alleen de accessoires en kabel die in de verkoopdoos zitten.
Het gebruik van andere dan de gespecificeerde of geleverde kabels kan
leiden tot verhoogde elektromagnetische emissies of een verminderde
elektromagnetische immuniteit van deze apparatuur en resulteert in
een onjuiste werking.
