IV. Intended use
This product has been designed only for the purposes listed below:
• Sharpening drill bits
• Sharpening lawn mower blades
• Sharpening chisels, scissoris and at screwdrivers
Bench grinders are ideal for sharpening tools such as chisels, lawn mower blades,

The machine is allowed to be used only for its intended purpose! Even when the
equipment is used as prescribed it is still impossible to eliminate certain residual risk
factors. The following hazards may arise in connection with the machine’s construc-
tion and layout:
• Contact with the grinding wheel where it is not covered.
• Catapulting parts out of damaged grinding wheels.
• Catapulting of workpieces and parts of workpieces.
• Damage to hearing if essential ear-muffs are not used.
• The rotating parts of the device cannot be covered for functional reasons.
Therefore you must exercise care and hold the workpiece rmly to prevent it
slipping which could result in your hands coming into contact with the grinding
wheel.
The equipment is allowed to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use
is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user/operator and not the manufacturer will
be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind resulting from such misuse.

• The grinding wheel should rotate “into” the object being sharpened.
NOTE: Excessive pressure may damage the tool, cause the motor to overheat, and
prematurely wear down the grinding wheel.
ON/OFF Switch (Figure 8)
Plug the device in a power outlet.
The bench grinder features a front access ON/OFF switch (13) for convenience and
safety. After switching on the equipment wait for the equipment to reach its maxi-
mum speed of rotation before commencing with the sanding/grinding work.
Sharpening twist drill bits (Figure 9)
Drill bits are best sharpened on a sharpening jig (available at most hardware stores).
Begin on one side of the point at the existing angle, then twist the bit while maintain-
ing contact with the grinding surface. Sharpen only the tip.
This technique requires considerable practice, so take your time and make a few
“dry runs” rst with the grinder off. Be sure to maintain the original cutting edge
angle as this is important to the efciency of your bits.
Sharpening chisels and screwdriver blades (Figure 10)
When sharpening chisels and screwdrivers, work rest should support the chisel at
the correct angle against the wheel.
IX. Cleaning and maintenance
mWARNING!:
Unplug the device from the power outlet for all maintenance and cleaning opera-
tions.

Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possi-
ble serious injury.
