Welcome to Tango.
Thank you for choosing the Tango speaker system from XtremeMac.
Tango is a great way to fill a room - or cubicle, or loft, or auditorium - with
your iPod’s music. This user’s guide will help make that as easy as possible.

The lightning flash with arrowhead, within an equilateral
triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of
uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s
enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to
constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.
Caution: To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not
remove cover (or back). No user-serviceable parts
inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle
isintended to alert the user to the presence of
important operating and maintenance (servicing)
instructions in the literature accompanying the
appliance.

6. Clean only with dry cloth.
7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. The apparatus should not be situated on a
bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings.
The apparatus must not be placed in a built-in installation, such as a
closed bookcase or cabinet that may impede the flow of air through the
ventilation openings. Ventilation should not be impeded by covering the
openings with items such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc.
8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers,
stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on
the apparatus.
10. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type
plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other.
A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong.
The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the
provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for the
replacement of the obsolete outlet.
11. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched —particularly
at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from
the apparatus.
12. Do not install in an area which impedes the access to the power plug.
Disconnecting the power plug is the only way to completely remove
power to the product and must be readily accessible at all times.
13. Power source —Use only power supplies of the type specified in the
operating instructions or as marked on the appliance. If a separate
power supply is included with this apparatus, do not substitute with any
other power supply —use only manufacturer-provided power supplies.
14. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long
periods of time.
15. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required
when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-
supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have
fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or
moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. For service,
refer to qualified service personnel, return to the dealer, or call the
XtremeMac service line for assistance.
16. For products which incorporate batteries, please refer to local
regulations for proper battery disposal.
17. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

Warranty Information
What Does The Warranty Cover? XtremeMac warrants that its products
shall be free from defects in materials or workmanship, with the exceptions
stated below.
What Is The Period Of Coverage? This warranty runs for one year from
the date of purchase.
What Does The Warranty Not Cover? This warranty does not cover
any defect, malfunction or failure that occurs as a result of: misuse or failure
to follow the product directions; abuse; or use with improper, unintended
or faulty equipment. Also, consequential and incidental damages are not
recoverable under this warranty. Further, opening up the unit or removing
any pieces from the product will immediately render your warranty null
and void.
What Will XtremeMac Do To Correct The Problem? XtremeMac will,
at its option, repair or replace any product that proves to be defective in
material or workmanship. If your product is no longer being manufactured,
or is out of stock, at its option, XtremeMac may replace your product with
a similar or better XtremeMac product.
How To Get Warranty Service? To get a covered product repaired or
replaced, you must contact XtremeMac during the warranty period by
either calling [phone] if you are in the U.S., or by e-mail (support@
xtrememac.com). If you e-mail XtremeMac, you must include your name,
address, e-mail address, telephone number, date of purchase and a
complete description of the problem you are experiencing. If the problem
appears to be related to a defect in material or workmanship, XtremeMac
will provide you a return authorization and instructions for return shipment.
Return shipments shall be at the customer’s expense, and the return must
be accompanied by the original proof of purchase. You should insure the
shipment as appropriate because you are responsible for the product until
it arrives at XtremeMac.
The above limited warranties and remedies do not extend to the iPod used
with the product.

Setup
1. Open Tango’s box. Here’s what’s inside:
2. Put Tango on a solid, level surface.
3. Use the Universal Dock Adapter that came with your iPod.
Install it in the Universal Dock Well on top of Tango.
Additional Universal Dock Adapters are available from Apple.

5. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
6. Insert your iPod into the Universal Dock. Power Tango on by pressing
the button. Now you’re ready to enjoy Tango.
Operation
Controlling Tango
With Tango powered and your iPod in the Universal Dock, you’re ready to roll.
Pressing turns power on/off.
The buttons control Volume.
You can control all other functions with your iPod’s Click Wheel or with
Tango’s wireless remote.

When Tango is On:
• If your iPod is playing audio when docked, Tango will automatically
begin playing the current track
• If your iPod is not playing audio when docked, Tango will not play
anything until you hit play on either the iPod or the remote
• Tango will go into “sleep” mode when paused for more than one
minute, or when it does not sense audio from the iPod or the auxiliary
input for more than one minute
• Tango will charge your iPod (4G models and later) while it is docked
When Tango is Off:
• Tango will not play audio until powered on
• If you dock your iPod while it is turned off, it will wake up your iPod
momentarily and then turn off and go into charge mode
When Tango is in Sleep Mode:
• The red light glows solid to show that Tango is
in sleep mode
• Tango will wake up when you press play on
your iPod, or when it senses audio from the
auxiliary input

Charging
Tango automatically charges your iPod during operation.
Connecting Tango to other devices
Tango’s back panel ports give you extra options for your iPod’s audio and
video content.
Line In 3.5mm mini-jack: Lets another device (like a computer or home
stereo) use Tango as an external speaker system.
A/V Out Composite Audio/Video Jack: Lets you send audio and
video signals to another device like a TV or home
entertainment system.
S-Video This video connection lets you send a high quality video
signal to a TV or monitor.
Watching iPod Video On An External TV/Monitor
To view video content on a TV while your iPod is docked in Tango, follow
theses simple steps.
1. Plug in a composite audio/video cable (like XtremeMac’s HomeShow)
into either the A/V Out jack, or an S-Video cable into the S-Video Jack.
2. Attach the other end to the corresponding jack on the TV/VCR/DVD
player.
3. On your iPod, select: Videos > Video Settings > TV Out. Push center
button until selection says “On.”
4. Select video content on iPod to watch with Click Wheel. Press play.
Menus, playlist selection, and iPod settings are only accessible
with the Click Wheel.

Cleaning
Gently wipe away dust on Tango and its grille with a dry, soft lint-free cloth.
Do not use any cleaners, sprays, or chemicals.!
Removing a Universal Dock Adapter
To remove an insert from the Dock, use your fingernail in the slot in the back
of the adapter.
Remote Control Battery replacement
Type: CR2025 3-Volt Lithium battery
How: Press the release latch for battery
drawer at bottom of the remote.
Pull out battery drawer and lift battery out.
Troubleshooting
Problem: No sound
• Make sure your iPod is firmly seated in the Universal Dock well.
• Make sure iPod is on and playing audio content
• Make sure the power cable is plugged into the back of Tango and into
a working outlet
• Undock your iPod, wait 5 seconds, and replace it in the dock.
• Reset Tango: Unplug the power cable, wait 60 seconds, and then
plug it back in.
• Be sure your iPod is running the latest version of the iPod software.*
iPod isn’t docking correctly
• Make sure the Universal Dock Adapter is the correct one for your iPod **
Tango does not respond to the remote control
• Tango has an LED behind the speaker grill that will glow when it receives
the remote signal.
If the LED does not glow:
• Make sure no solid objects block Tango’s speaker grille
• Replace the remote control battery.
If the LED does glow:
• Undock your iPod, wait 5 seconds, and replace it in the dock.
• Be sure your iPod is running the latest version of the iPod software.*
• Reset Tango: Unplug the power cable, wait 60 seconds, and then plug it
back in.
*Visit http://www.apple.com/support/ to download the latest software for
your iPod.
**Adapters are included for the iPod nano, and iPod with video (30GB and
60GB). Additional Universal Dock Adapters are available from Apple.

INSTRUCTIONS DE SÉCURITÉ IMPORTANTES
1. Lisez ces instructions.
2. Conservez ces instructions.

5. Tenez l’appareil à l’écart de l’eau et de toute source de suintement ou
d’éclaboussure et ne placez aucun objet rempli d’eau (un vase, par
exemple) sur l’appareil.
6. Nettoyez l’appareil uniquement à l’aide d’un chiffon sec.
7. N’obstruez pas les orifices de ventilation. Installez l’appareil
conformément aux instructions du fabricant. Ne placez pas l’appareil
sur un lit, un canapé, un tapis ou une surface du même type pouvant
obstruer les orifices de ventilation. Ne placez pas l’appareil dans un
meuble fermé, par exemple une bibliothèque ou une commode fermée,
qui pourrait empêcher l’air de passer par les orifices de ventilation.
Ne placez pas d’objets sur les orifices de ventilation, par exemple un
journal, une nappe, un rideau, etc.
8. N’installez pas l’appareil près d’une source de chaleur, par exemple un

9. Ne placez aucune source de flamme nue (une bougie, par exemple) sur
l’appareil.
10. N’essayez pas de contourner la protection de sécurité de la fiche
polarisée ou de mise à la terre. Une fiche polarisée comporte deux
lames, une plus large que l’autre. Une fiche de mise à la terre comporte
deux lames et une broche de mise à la terre. La lame plus large ou la
broche est fournie pour votre sécurité. Si la fiche fournie n’entre pas
dans la prise de courant, consultez un électricien pour faire remplacer la
prise vétuste.
11. Placez toujours le cordon d’alimentation de sorte qu’on ne risque pas
de marcher dessus ni de le pincer, notamment aux points d’entrée et de
sortie des fiches et des prises.
12. N’installez pas l’appareil dans une zone où l’accès à la fiche n’est
pas garanti. Le débranchement de la fiche d’alimentation est la seule
manière de mettre le produit complètement hors tension. Vous devez
pouvoir accéder facilement à la fiche à tout moment.s.
13. Source d’alimentation : utilisez uniquement des blocs d’alimentation
du type défini dans les instructions de fonctionnement ou indiqué
sur l’appareil. Si un bloc d’alimentation indépendant est fourni avec
l’appareil, ne le remplacez par aucun autre bloc d’alimentation. Utilisez

Garantie Limitée d’un an XtremeMac
Éléments couverts par la garantie: XtremeMac garantit ce produit contre
tout défaut de matériaux ou de fabrication, sauf dans les cas mentionnés
ci-dessous.
Durée de la couverture: cette garantie est valable pendant un an à partir de
la date d’achat.
Éléments non couverts par la garantie: cette garantie ne couvre pas les
défauts, le mauvais fonctionnement ou les défaillances survenant en raison:
d’une utilisation inappropriée ou du non-respect des instructions fournies avec
le produit ; d’une utilisation abusive ; ou de toute utilisation avec un équipement
inapproprié, inadapté ou défaillant. Cette garantie ne couvre pas les dommages
accessoires et indirects. L’ouverture de l’appareil ou le retrait de toute pièce de
ce dernier a pour effet d’annuler immédiatement votre garantie.
Obligations de XtremeMac: XtremeMac procédera, à sa discrétion, à
la réparation ou au remplacement des produits présentant des défauts de
matériaux ou de fabrication. Si votre produit n’est plus fabriqué ou qu’il
est en rupture de stock, XtremeMac pourra procéder au remplacement du
produit par un produit XtremeMac similaire ou supérieur.
Procédure d’obtention du service de garantie: pour obtenir la réparation
ou le remplacement d’un produit couvert par la garantie, vous devez prendre
contact avec XtremeMac pendant la période de garantie soit en appelant le

ou de fabrication, XtremeMac vous fournira un bon de renvoi ainsi que des

êtes tenu de vous assurer du bon déroulement de l’expédition, car vous êtes
responsable du produit jusqu’à son arrivée dans les locaux de XtremeMac.

Déballage et installation
1. Ouvrez la boîte contenant le Tango. Vous y trouverez:

Une fois que le Tango est sous tension et que votre iPod se trouve dans le
Dock universel, vous êtes prêt à utiliser l’appareil.
Pour allumer ou éteindre l’appareil, appuyez sur le bouton .
Le bouton permet de contrôler le volume.
Vous pouvez contrôler toutes les autres fonctions soit à l’aide de la roue
cliquable de votre iPod, soit à l’aide de la télécommande sans fil du Tango.

Entrée ligne mini connecteur de 3,5 mm : ce connecteur permet à

Diffusion du signal vidéo de l’iPod sur un téléviseur/
moniteur externe
Pour afficher le contenu vidéo sur un téléviseur alors que votre iPod est
connecté au Tango, suivez les instructions ci-après
1. Branchez soit un câble audio/vidéo composite (tel que le câble
HomeShow de XtremeMac) sur le port de sortie A/V, soit un câble
S-Vidéo sur le port S-Vidéo.
2. Branchez l’autre extrémité sur le port correspondant de l’appareil
TV/VCR/DVD.
3. Sur votre iPod, choisissez : Vidéos > Réglages Vidéo > Sortie TV.
Appuyez sur le bouton central jusqu’à ce que la sélection indique
« On ».
4. Sélectionnez à l’aide de la roue cliquable, sur l’iPod, le contenu vidéo
à regarder. Appuyez sur le bouton de lecture.
Les menus, la sélection de listes de lecture et les réglages de l’iPod

Époussetez doucement le Tango et sa grille à l’aide d’une pièce de tissu
sèche et non pelucheuse. (!) N’utilisez jamais de produit nettoyant,
de vaporisateur ou tout autre produit chimique.
Retrait d’un adaptateur de Dock universel
Pour retirer un élément inséré dans le Dock, procédez en insérant votre
ongle dans la fente située à l’arrière de l’adaptateur.
Remplacement de la pile de la
télécommande
Type : pile au lithium de 3 V de type CR2025ry
Instructions : appuyez sur le loquet de verrouillage du
tiroir de la batterie situé en bas de la
télécommande. Ouvrez le compartiment
à pile et retirez cette dernière.
Dépannage
Problème: Pas de son
• Assurez-vous que votre iPod est correctement installé dans le logement
de Dock universel.
• Assurez-vous que l’iPod est allumé et que la lecture audio est activée.
• Assurez-vous que le câble d’alimentation est branché à l’arrière du
Tango et relié à une prise électrique.
• Déconnectez l’iPod du Dock, attendez 5 secondes, puis replacez l’iPod
sur le Dock.
• Réinitialisez le Tango : débranchez le câble d’alimentation, attendez
60 secondes, puis branchez à nouveau le câble d’alimentation.
• Assurez-vous que la dernière version du logiciel iPod est installée sur
votre iPod.*

Impossible d’installer correctement l’iPod sur le Dock
• Assurez-vous que l’adaptateur de Dock universel utilisé correspond
à votre modèle d’iPod**
Le Tango ne répond pas à la télécommande
Le Tango est équipé d’un voyant, situé derrière la grille du haut-parleur,
qui s’allume lors de la réception du signal provenant de la télécommande.
Si le voyant n’est pas allumé :
• Assurez-vous qu’aucun objet solide ne bloque la grille du haut-parleur
du Tango.
• Remplacez la pile de la télécommande.
Si le voyant est allumé:
• Déconnectez l’iPod du Dock, attendez 5 secondes, puis replacez l’iPod
sur le Dock.
• Assurez-vous que la dernière version du logiciel iPod est installée sur
votre iPod.*
Réinitialisez le Tango:
• Débranchez le câble d’alimentation, attendez 60 secondes, puis
branchez à nouveau le câble d’alimentation.

ACHTUNG: Um einen elektrischen Schock zu vermeiden,
verwenden Sie diesen (polarisierten) Stecker nicht mit einer
Verlängerungsschnur, einem Anschlussstecker oder anderen
Steckdosen, wenn die Steckverbindungen nicht vollständig in die
Dose eingeführt werden können, damit die Steckverbindungen
nicht freiliegen.
Der Blitz mit dem Pfeilkopf innerhalb eines gleichseitigen
Dreiecks soll den Benutzer vor unisolierter „gefährlicher
Spannung“ innerhalb des Produktgehäuses warnen,
die so hoch sein kann, dass die Gefahr eines elektrischen
Schocks für Personen besteht.
Achtung: Um die Gefahr eines elektrischen Schocks
zu vermeiden, entfernen Sie die Abdeckung (oder
die Rückseite) nicht. Innen befinden sich keine Teile,
die für den Gebrauch durch den Benutzer bestimmt sind. Lassen Sie
Wartungsarbeiten von einem qualifizierten Kundendienst ausführen.

5. Verwenden Sie dieses Gerät nicht in der Nähe von Wasser – Dieses
Gerät darf weder Tropf- noch Spritzwasser ausgesetzt werden. Zudem
dürfen keine mit Flüssigkeiten gefüllte Objekte, wie beispielsweise
Vasen, auf das Gerät gestellt werden.
6. Reinigen Sie das Gerät nur mit trockenen Tüchern.
7. Blockieren Sie keine Lüftungsöffnungen. Stellen Sie das Gerät gemäß
den Anweisungen des Herstellers auf. Das Gerät darf nicht auf ein
Bett, Sofa, einen Teppich oder eine ähnliche Oberfläche gestellt
werden, durch die die Lüftungsöffnungen blockiert werden können.
Das Gerät darf nicht in einen Einbauschrank gestellt werden, wie z.B.
ein geschlossenes Bücherregal oder einen Aktenschrank, wodurch die
Luftzirkulation durch die Lüftungsöffnungen verhindert werden könnte.
Die Luftzirkulation sollte nicht verhindert werden, indem die Öffnungen
mit Zeitungen, Tischdecken, Gardinen etc. abgedeckt werden.
8. Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von Heizquellen auf, wie
z.B. Radiatoren, Heizkörper, Öfen oder andere Geräte (einschließlich
Verstärker), die Hitze erzeugen.
9. Stellen Sie keine offenen Feuerquellen, wie z.B. angezündete Kerzen,
auf das Gerät.
10. Zerstören Sie die Sicherheitsvorkehrungen des polarisierten oder
des SchuKo-Steckers nicht. Ein polarisierter Stecker hat zwei
Steckverbindungen, von denen eine breiter ist, als die andere. Ein
SchuKo-Stecker hat zwei Steckverbindungen und einen dritten
Erdungsstift. Die breitere Steckverbindung oder der dritte Erdungsstift
dienen Ihrer Sicherheit. Wenn der mitgelieferte Stecker nicht in Ihre
Steckdose passt, bitten Sie einen Elektriker, die veraltete Steckdose zu
ersetzen.
11. Achten Sie darauf, dass nicht auf das Stromkabel getreten wird
und dass es nicht abgeklemmt wird - besonders am Stecker, an
Zusatzanschlüssen und an dem Punkt, an dem das Kabel aus dem
Gerät kommt.
12. Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht so auf, dass der Zugang zum Stromstecker
verhindert wird. Nur indem Sie den Stromstecker herausziehen, können
Sie die Stromzufuhr zum Gerät vollständig unterbrechen. Dies muss
jederzeit möglich sein.
13. Stromquelle — Verwenden Sie nur die Art von Netzanschlüssen, die in
der Betriebsanleitung angegeben oder auf dem Gerät gekennzeichnet
ist. Wenn diesem Gerät ein zusätzlicher Netzanschluss beigefügt ist,
ersetzen Sie diesen durch keinen anderen Netzanschluss – verwenden
Sie nur Netzanschlüsse, die vom Hersteller geliefert werden.
14. Trennen Sie dieses Gerät von der Stromzufuhr bei Gewitter oder wenn
Sie es für längere Zeit nicht verwenden.
15. Lassen Sie alle Wartungsarbeiten von einem qualifizierten Kundendienst
ausführen. Wartungsarbeiten sind erforderlich, wenn das Gerät auf
irgendeine Weise beschädigt wurde – wenn z.B. das Netzkabel oder der
Stecker beschädigt ist, Flüssigkeit über das Gerät gekippt wurde oder
Objekte hineingefallen sind, das Gerät dem Regen oder der Feuchtigkeit
ausgesetzt wurde, nicht normal funktioniert oder heruntergefallen
ist. Lassen Sie die Wartung von einem qualifizierten Kundendienst
ausführen, geben Sie das Gerät dem Händler zurück oder rufen Sie den
XtremeMac-Telefondienst an und bitten Sie um Unterstützung.

16. Wenn Ihr Produkt Batterien enthält, beachten Sie bitte die lokalen
Regelungen für die richtige Batterieentsorgung.
17. Verwenden Sie nur vom Hersteller ausgewiesene Zusatzgeräte.

Einjährige Eingeschränkte Garantie von

Was deckt die Garantie ab?: XtremeMac garantiert, dass die Produkte

Verarbeitungsfehler aufweisen, nach eigenem Ermessen kostenlos.
Wenn Ihr Produkt nicht mehr hergestellt wird oder nicht lieferbar ist, kann
XtremeMac Ihr Produkt nach eigenem Ermessen durch ein ähnliches oder
besseres Produkt von XtremeMac ersetzen.
Wie erhalten Sie den Garantie-Service?: Wenn Sie ein durch die
Garantie abgedecktes Produkt reparieren oder ersetzen lassen möchten,
müssen Sie sich innerhalb des Garantiezeitraums an XtremeMac wenden.

Sie eine E-Mail an XtremeMac senden, müssen Sie Ihren Namen, Ihre

eine vollständige Beschreibung des Problems, das bei Ihnen aufgetreten
ist, angeben. Wenn das Problem offenbar auf einen Material- oder
Verarbeitungsfehler zurückzuführen ist, bietet Ihnen XtremeMac eine
Autorisierung für die Rücknahme an und gibt Ihnen eine Anleitung für
die Rücksendung. Die Rücksendung erfolgt auf Kosten des Kunden und
der Rücksendung muss der Original-Kaufbeleg beigefügt sein. Achten
Sie bitte auf eine angemessene Verpackung und Versendung, da Sie die
