6. Only clean with a dry cloth.
7. Do not block any vents. Install in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heaters,
stoves, or other devices (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-
type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than
the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third
grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided
for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet,
consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

When a cart is used, use caution when moving the

as a book case or similar unit, and maintain well-ventilated con-
ditions. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the
vents with items such as newspaper, table-cloths, curtains etc.

throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment

(Geneva Sound System, Model XS Replacement Battery).
Operating Temperatures: The recommended operating temperature
range for the Geneva Sound System is 5..40 degrees Celsius /
41..104 degrees Fahrenheit.
Use the original power adapter: Only use the supplied original
power adapter to power and charge the Geneva Sound System.
Other power adapters might look similar, but using them could result
in electric shock and could damage the Geneva Sound System.

The product labels, FCC information and safety related markings
are located in the battery compartment of the Geneva Sound
System and the power adapter.

GETTING STARTED
Inserting the Rechargeable Battery
1. Open the case and turn your Model XS so you can
access the battery compartment on the back.
2. Plug the battery cable into the small white connector
in the upper left corner of the battery compartment.
3. Place the battery into the back compartment.
Carefully fold the cable next to the battery.
4. Take the lid and push it until it snaps in.
Charging the Battery
5. Once the battery is in place, plug the power
adapter cord into your Model XS (“DC 5.5V”).
Turning the Power On
1. Open the case.
2. Insert the two hooks of the top cover into the Model XS.
When the Model XS is not in the correct position, it
will automatically turn off to save battery power.

USING THEMODEL XS
FM Radio

Bluetooth
Mobile phones and computers with Bluetooth can
connect to the Model XS and play music.
The mobile phone or computer must support Blue-
tooth A2DP. Detailed guides on various devices with
Bluetooth A2DP can be found at www.genevalab.
com, select “Support”.
Initial Setup (“pairing”) With iPhone®

2. Select “settings” on your iPhone®. Select “General /

devices are discovered automatically. After a few

3. Select “Geneva XS Sound System”. The phone is
now connecting (“pairing”) to the Model XS.

Playing Music
Most phones connect automatically to the Model XS
after the initial setup (“pairing”).
1. Touch the key on your Model XS until the display

2. Play music on the mobile phone, music will start
playing on Model XS automatically after
a few seconds.

Not all audio devices have Bluetooth. Model XS also

Alarm
Setting the Alarm
1. Turn on Model XS, then touch : a blinking “A”
appears on the display.
2. Set the desired alarm time using and .
3. Touch again to save the alarm time. “A”
indicates alarm is now on.
Turning the Alarm On And Off
Turn off Model XS, then touch any key on the touch
panel to toggle the alarm. “A” on the display indicates
the alarm is on.
Muting the Alarm
Touch any key on the touch panel to mute the alarm.
The alarm will automatically turn off after 20 minutes
if no key on the touch panel is touched.
Selecting the Alarm Sound
There are two alarm sounds: FM radio and a beeping
sound. If you set the alarm and the current mode is
FM, the FM radio will play when the alarm goes off.
Otherwise the beeping sound is used.
Setting the Clock
1. Turn on Model XS, then touch . The letter “C”
starts blinking on the display.
<ZL and to set the current time.
3. Touch to complete the procedure.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The Model XS will not turn on, the display
shows “low” and “batt”.
“low” and “batt” means low battery. Connect the
power adapter to the Model XS and the battery will
begin charging. You can use the Model XS right away.
The Model XS will not turn on, nothing happens.
If the battery is very low, there is too little power to
turn on the display, even if the power adapter is con-
nected. Model XS can be turned on after it has been
connected for a few to the power adapter.
Why is the Model XS turning off after
a while?
After one minute the device will
automatically turn itself off, when it is
not in the correct position (see figure
in “Turning the Power On”).
The Model XS does not turn on when
I touch the button.
Touch with one finger only. Don’t touch the rest of
the touch panel with other fingers. The touch panel
works properly when used with one finger only.
After turning on, the Model XS turns itself quickly off
and on again.
Model XS automatically self-calibrates the touch
panel for a second time. This is the correct behavior
and is nothing to worry about.
What is the PIN for a Bluetooth connection?
The PIN is: 0000 (4 zeros). Not all computers or
mobile phones require a pin code during the initial
setup (pairing).

I have an unreliable connection with dropouts when
listening via Bluetooth.

can disturb a Bluetooth connection (for example
WLAN / Wifi, other mobile phones etc.).
How do I know if the battery is charging?
A small dot on the lower right of the display blinks
slowly if the battery is being charged.
The sound output seems too low.
Turn the volume on the mobile phone or audio device up.
How can I check the battery charge?
A dot on the lower right corner of the display shows
the battery status:

If the battery is low, the display will also show “low”
and “batt”. In this case the Model XS will automati-
cally turn off, but it still has enough power to show
the time for a while.
Why is the unit louder when it is connected to a
power adapter?
When the Model XS is battery powered, the maxi-
mum volume is limited to maximize battery life.
Why is the alarm not working when the case is
closed?
The alarm does not work in this position because
the device power is off. However, the clock is still
running.
How do I change the battery?

Kabel aus dem Gerät austreten. Achten Sie besonders auf den
festen Sitz des Netzsteckers am Gerät und der Steckdose.
11. Nutzen Sie ausschließlich das vom Hersteller empfohlene
Zubehör.
12. Nutzen Sie das Gerät nur mit den vom Hersteller empfohlenen/
mitgelieferten Befestigungsmöglichkeiten. Wird ein
fahrbares Gestell benutzt, ist besondere Vorsicht ge-
boten um Verletzungen durch eventuelles Umkippen
der Gestell-Geräte-Kombination zu vermeiden.
13. Ziehen Sie bei Gewittern, oder wenn das Gerät über längere
Zeit nicht gebraucht wird, den Stecker des Geräts aus der
Steckdose.
14. Beauftragen Sie mit allen Servicearbeiten nur qualifiziertes
Servicepersonal. Ein Service ist erforderlich, wenn das Gerät
beschädigt wurde, etwa wenn das Netzteil oder die Stecker
beschädigt sind, Flüssigkeit über dem Gerät verschüttet wurde,
oder Gegenstände in das Gerät geraten sind, wenn das Gerät
Regen oder Feuchtigkeit ausgesetzt war, nicht normal funktioni-

Verbindung mit iPhone ® einrichten (“Koppeln”)
1. Halten Sie die Taste gedrückt bis “Blue” auf dem
Display erscheint.
2. Wählen Sie “Einstellungen” auf Ihrem iPhone ®.
Wählen Sie “Allgemein / Bluetooth”. Aktivieren Sie
die Bluetooth-Funktion. Neue Bluetooth Geräte
werden automatisch erkannt. Nach einigen Sekun-
den erscheint “Geneva XS Sound System (Nicht
Gekoppelt)”.

Schalten Sie das Model XS aus. Zum Aktivieren/
Deaktivieren der Weckfunktion drücken Sie eine be-

Zum Abstellen des Wecktons können Sie jede
beliebige Taste des Touchpanels berühren. Ohne
Bestätigung wird das Gerät automatisch nach 20

Auswahl des Wecktons
Es gibt zwei Wecktöne: FM Radio und einen Piepton.
Wenn bei Anschalten der Weckfunktion der FM Mo-
dus aktiv ist, wird bei Weckruf das FM Radio gespielt.

FEHLERBEHEBUNG
Das Model XS lässt sich nicht einschalten, auf
dem Display erscheint “low” und “batt”.
“low” und “batt” zeigen an, dass der Akku schwach
ist. Verbinden Sie das Netzteil mit dem Model XS und
der Akku wird geladen. Sie können das Model XS
nach ein paar Minuten benutzen.
Das Model XS lässt sich nicht einschalten,
nichts passiert.
Wenn die Batterie zu weit entladen ist, gibt es zu
wenig Strom, um das Display auch mit verbundenem
Netzteil einzuschalten. Das Model XS lässt sich ein-
schalten, wenn das Netzteil kurze Zeit verbunden ist.
Warum schaltet sich das Model XS nach einiger
Zeit aus?
Wenn sich das Gerät nicht in der kor-
rekten Position befindet, schaltet es
sich nach einer Minute automatisch
aus (siehe Abbildung “Das Gerät
einschalten”).
Das Gerät lässt sich nicht ein-
schalten, wenn ich die Taste betätige.
Berühren Sie die Taste nur mit einem Finger.
Vermeiden Sie mehrere Finger gleichzeitig auf dem
Touchpanel. Das Touchpanel funktioniert nur ein-
wandfrei, wenn es mit nur einem Finger berührt wird.
Nach dem Einschalten schaltet sich das Model XS
kurz wieder aus und an.
Das Model XS kalibriert sein Touchpanel automatisch
ein zweites Mal. Dies ist eine korrekte Funktion und
kein Fehler.
Wie lautet die PIN für eine Bluetooth Verbindung?
Die PIN lautet: 0000 (4 Nullen). Nicht alle Computer
oder Mobiles verlangen eine PIN Eingabe während
der Einrichtung (Koppeln).

pour arrêter l’alarme. L’alarme s’arrêtera automatique-
ment après 20 minutes si aucune touche sur l’écran
tactile n’est effleurée.
Sélectionner le son de l’alarme
Il y a deux sons d’alarme : la radio FM et un signal
sonore. Si vous réglez l’alarme et que le mode actuel est
FM, la radio FM jouera lorsque l’alarme se déclenchera.

Le Modèle XS ne s’allume pas, l’écran affiche
“faible” et “batt”.
“faible” et “batt” signifie batterie faible. Connectez
l’adaptateur secteur au Modèle XS et la batterie com-
mencera à charger. Vous pouvez utiliser le Modèle XS
quelques minutes plus tard.
Le Modèle XS ne s’allume pas, rien ne se passe.
Si la batterie est très faible, l’écran ne peut pas s’allumer,
même si l’adaptateur secteur est branché. Le Modèle
XS peut être allumé après avoir été branché pendant un
court moment à l’adaptateur secteur.
Pourquoi le modèle XS s’éteint-il
après un certain temps ?
Après une minute, l’appareil s’éteint
automatiquement, s’il n’est pas dans
la bonne position (voir la figure sous
“Mise en marche”).

Si la batterie est faible, l’écran affichera également
“faible” et “batt”. Dans ce cas, le Modèle XS s’éteint
automatiquement, mais il a encore suffisamment de puis-
sance pour afficher l’heure pendant un certain temps.
Pourquoi le son est-il plus fort lorsqu’il est connecté à
un adaptateur secteur ?
Lorsque le Modèle XS fonctionne sur batterie, le volume
maximum est limité à l’autonomie maximale de la batterie.
Pourquoi l’alarme ne fonctionne pas lorsque le boîtier
est fermé ?
L’alarme ne fonctionne pas dans cette position parce que
l’appareil est hors tension. Cependant l’horloge continue
à fonctionner.
Comment changer la pile ?
1. Ouvrez délicatement le couvercle du compartiment avec un
tournevis plat.
2. Retirez la pile usagée et remplacez-la par une pile neuve.
Utilisez uniquement une pile de rechange XS orginale de
Geneva ! Vous pouvez commander la pile sur www.genevalab.

3. Insérez la nouvelle pile en suivant les instructions du chapitre
“”Mise en route”” de ce manuel.

Detener el sonido de la alarma
Presione cualquier tecla en el panel táctil para que la
alarma deje de sonar. La alarma se apagará automática-

Selección del sonido de la alarma
Hay dos sonidos de alarma: Radio FM y un sonido de
pitido. Si configura la alarma y el modo actual es FM ,
entonces sonará la radio FM cuando llegue la hora de la
alarma establecida. De lo contrario, sonará el pitido.

RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
El Model XS no enciende, la pantalla muestra “low”
y “batt”
“low” y “batt” significan que hay poca batería. Conecte
el adaptador de alimentación al Model XS y la batería co-
menzará a cargarse. Podrá comenzar a utilizar el Model
XS en tan solo unos minutos.
El Mode XS no enciende, no ocurre nada.
Si la batería está muy baja, hay poca alimentación como
para encender la pantalla, incluso si el adaptador de
alimentación está conectado, El Model XS se encend-
erá cuando lleve un rato conectado al adaptador de
alimentación.
¿Por qué se apaga el Model XS trans-
currido un corto tiempo?
Tras un minuto el dispositivo se apagará
automáticamente cuando no esté en la
posición correcta (consulte la Ilustración
en la sección “Encendido”).
El Model XS no se enciende al presionar el botón de
encendido .

Cuando el Model XS funciona desde su batería, el volumen

OPERAZIONI PRELIMINARI
Inserimento della batteria ricaricabile
1. Aprire il guscio e girare Model XS per accedere facil
mente al vano batterie posto sul retro.
2. Inserire il cavo della batteria nel piccolo connettore
bianco posto nell’angolo superiore sinistro del vano
batterie.

5. Dopo aver sistemato la batteria, inserire il cavo
dell’alimentatore nell’apparecchio Model XS (“DC
5.5V”)
Accensione
1. Aprire il guscio.
2. Inserire i due ganci del coperchio superiore nel
Model XS.
Se il Model XS non è in posizione corretta, si spegne
automaticamente, attivando la modalità di risparmio
energetico.
