Your little one will sleep securely in this youngAmerica Toddler Bed/Daybed. Proper
assembly will ensure every effort has been made to design this Toddler Bed/Daybed
with your child's safety in mind. It is certified to meet all safety guidelines established
by ASTM International and the CPSC-Consumer Product Safety Commission.

 Read all instructions before assembling bed. KEEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR
FUTURE USE.
 Before each usage or assembly, inspect bed for damaged hardware, loose joints,
missing parts or sharp edges. DO NOT use bed if any parts are missing or broken.
Contact your dealer or write to Young America, PO Box 30, Stanleytown, VA 24168
for replacement parts and instructional literature if needed.
 DO NOT substitute parts. Use only bolts or parts supplied by manufacturer or
parts of comparable quality and equal dimensions. Do not allow ends of bolts or
sharp edges to be exposed.
 NEVER use bed with children under 15 months of age.
 The maximum weight of the intended user shall not be greater than 50 lb (22.7 kg).
 CAUTION: Any mattress used in this bed must be at least 27−1/4 inches
by 51−5/8 inches and at least 4 inches in thickness.
 Strings can cause strangulation! Do not place items with a string around a
childs neck, such as hood strings or pacifier cords.
 Do not suspend strings over a toddler bed for any reason.
 NEVER place a bed near a window where cords from blinds or drapes may strangle
a child.
 Guardrail provided must be used to avoid a gap between the mattress and the bed
that could cause an entrapment.
 DO NOT use a water mattress with this crib.
 Never use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers because
they can cause suffocation.
 The bed must be fully assembled prior to use.
 Do not allow child to crawl or play underneath bed.
 Use caution when a vaporizer is in use. Always aim the vapor steam away from
the bed as well as away from any other wood furniture item.
 If refinishing, use a non−toxic finish specified for children’s products.
!WARNING ENTRAPMENT/STRANGULATION HAZARD:
Infants have died in Toddler Beds from entrapment and strangulation. Failure to follow
these warnings and the assembly instructions could result in serious injury or death.

The conversion kit illustrations in these instructions are generic in nature. The conversion kit
you have purchased may not look like the ones illustrated; however, they all assemble in the
same manner.

Toddler Bed/Daybed Assembly
NOTE: Read all instructions before assembling toddler bed/daybed. KEEP INSTRUC-
TIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
Attached to the mattress platform is a sleeve to store the instruction booklet.
After assembly is complete, place this instruction booklet in the sleeve for future
reference.
This toddler bed/daybed conforms to the ASTM International and the CPSC-Consumer
Product Safety Commission guidelines for product safety. Please adhere to the guide-
lines in this booklet for assembly, operation and maintenance.
Note the recommendations below:
 Power tools are not recommended for assembly.
 Give yourself plenty of room to work.
 Due to the size of this bed, it must be assembled in the space it will occupy.
 The assembly will take two people to complete.
 Layout all the hardware and make sure that the proper length bolts are used in the
designated areas.
 Do not substitute hardware. If an item is missing or damaged contact Stanley
Furniture Company immediately for replacement. Inspect all component parts and
hardware prior to beginning the assembly process.
 Make sure all fasteners are tight.
 Above all, take your time and read the instructions carefully.

Step 1:
 Attach the Frame Posts to the Frame Bottom Rail. See Figure 1.
 Insert the Barrel Nuts into the holes on the inside of the Frame Bottom Rail (make
sure the slotted end of the Barrel Nut is visible) using a Flathead Screwdriver align
the slot in the Barrel Nut with the hole for the connector bolt. See Figure 2.
 Insert (2) 3 1/2” Connector Bolts from the outside of the Frame Posts and tighten
with the provided wrench. See Figure 2b.

Conversion Kit Assembly
Step 2:
 The Toddler Safety Rail may
attach to either end of the
Daybed Frame to best fit in
your room. See Figure 3.
 Align the hole in the end of
the Toddler Bed Safety Rail
with the hole in either Frame
Post and insert (1) 2” Con-
nector Bolt. Securely tighten
the Bolt with the provided
wrench. See Figure 3a.

Step 3:
 Slide the Safety Rail Brackets through
the saddle brackets in the Frame Bottom
Rail. See Figure 4.
 Attach the Safety Rail Brackets using (2)
3/4” Connector Bolts, (2) 3/4” Caps, and
(2) Flat Washers. See Fig. 5. Tighten
with the provided Wrenches.
 Insert (1) 3/4” Bolt into the unused hole
on the opposite Frame Post and tighten
with the provided wrench. See Figure 6.
 When the Toddler Bed Guard Rail is re-
moved to convert the bed into a Daybed,
insert (1) 3/4” Bolt into each Frame Post
as shown in Figure 6.

Attaching the Conversion Kit
Step 4:
 Before attaching the Toddler Bed/Daybed
Conversion Kit to your Crib the Mattress
Platform must be placed in the lowest posi-
tion. See Figure 6. Refer to page 13 in
your Crib Instruction Booklet. Do not reat-
tach the Footboard.
 Locate the (4) 2 3/8” Connector Bolts from
the Crib Footboard to use in the attachment
of the Conversion Kit.
 Position the Conversion Kit with the
Brackets on the Frame Bottom Rail facing
the inside of the bed. See Figure 7.
 Align the holes in the Frame Posts with the
holes in the Crib Ends. Insert (4) 2 3/8”
Connector Bolts (that were removed from
the Crib Assembly) from the inside of the
Crib Ends into the Frame Posts and se-
curely tighten with the provided wrench.
See Figure 8.
 Figure 9 illustrates how the completed
Toddler Bed should look.
 After assembly is completed check all as-
sembly bolts and make sure each is se-
curely tightened using the provided
wrench.

Final Step
Step 5: (The final and most important) Checklist.
 Inspect the bed once again to assure that all bolts are tight and that no hardware is missing. (if you
are missing hardware, contact Stanley Furniture immediately for replacement and do not use the
bed until the new hardware arrives).
 Do not place the bed near a window where the child may have access to window coverings, cords
or draperies as these articles pose a strangulation hazard.
 Replace the instructions in the holder provided. KEEP THE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE BED.
 Install the crib mattress.
 Follow all the warnings on the use of this bed and all products in the bed.
 CAUTION: Any mattress used in this bed must be at least 27-1/4” by 51-5/8” with a thickness of
no less than 4 inches and not exceeding 6 inches.
Conversion from Toddler Bed to Daybed.
Your Built to Grow Toddler Bed can be converted to
a Daybed by removing the Toddler Safety Rail from
the Toddler Bed/Daybed Conversion Kit. Refer to
pages 7 and 8 of this instruction booklet.
Conversion to a Full Size (4/6) Bed items
RLS-0050 and SLR-0468 are available and instruc-
tions to convert the Built to Grow crib are on page
15 of the Crib Instructions Booklet. Contact your
youngAmerica dealer to purchase these items.
Safety Rails for a Full Size Bed item PSR-3267 are
available for added safety when the bed is converted
to a full size bed. Contact your youngAmerica dealer
to purchase this item.

Cleaning:
Mix together a mild solution of gentle dishwashing liquid and water, apply to the Toddler
Bed surface using a soft clean cloth lightly dampened in the solution. Rinse with clear
water, using a lightly dampened, soft clean cloth, then dry all surfaces thoroughly with a
dry cloth. NO ABRASIVE CLEANERS, SCOURING PADS, STEEL WOOL OR
COURSE RAGS SHOULD BE USED TO CLEAN THIS FINE FURNITURE.
Storage:
A permanent storage pouch is attached to the mattress platform for the storage of the as-
sembly instructions. After completing the assembly process, you are advised to read and
be aware of all WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, CLEANING, STORAGE, USE AND MAIN-
TENANCE notices contained in these instructions. Do not to place excess hardware in
the storage pouch as it could present a danger to a child if retrieved and could also dam-
age the mattress. When storing the Toddler Bed, use CAUTION as temperature changes
and humidity could be harmful to the Toddler Bed. It is recommended that the Toddler
Bed be stored in a temperature controlled environment.
Periodic Maintenance:
1. Periodically check to make sure all bolts and connections are fastened securely.
2. If you are missing a part or need a replacement part, do not substitute parts. Ask your
dealer for replacement parts or contact Customer Service at [phone].
3. Save these instructions, in the sleeve attached to the mattress platform, in the event you
disassemble the Toddler Bed and need to reassemble it. These instructions will also be
useful in identifying replacement parts if needed at a future date.

 Antes de ensamblar o utilizar la cama, verifique que no tenga piezas de tornillería
dañadas, juntas flojas, partes faltantes o bordes filosos. NO utilice la cama si le
faltan piezas o están rotas. Comuníquese con su representante o escriba a Young
America, PO Box 30, Stanleytown, VA 24168, para solicitar piezas de reemplazo e
instrucciones de instalación, según sea necesario.
 NO sustituya las piezas. Utilice solamente los pernos o las piezas provistas por el

Paso 1:
 Sujete los postes para larguero a la baranda inferior del larguero. Consulte la Figura 1.
 Inserte las tuercas de cilindro en los orificios que están en el lado interno de la baranda
inferior del larguero (asegúrese de que el extremo ranurado de la tuerca de cilindro
quede visible); con un destornillador de cabeza plana, alinee la ranura de cada tuerca de

Paso 3:
 Deslice los soportes de la baranda de
seguridad por los soportes de la montura de
la baranda inferior del larguero. Consulte la
Figura 4.
 Sujete los soportes para la baranda de
seguridad con (2) pernos de conexión de 3/4”,
(2) capuchones de 3/4” y (2) arandelas planas.
Consulte la Figura 5. Ajuste con las llaves
provistas.
 Inserte (1) perno de 3/4” en el orificio sin usar
del poste para larguero del lado opuesto y
ajústelo con la llave suministrada. Consulte la
Figura 6.
 Cuando se retire la baranda de protección de
la cama para niños para convertirla en sofá
cama, inserte (1) perno de 3/4” en cada poste
para larguero, como se muestra en la Figura 6.
