Installation
 This oven m st be installed by qualifie personnel
to the relevant British Standards.
 This oven is heavy. Take care when moving it.
 Remove all packaging, both inside and o tside the
oven, before sing the oven.
 Do not attempt to modify the oven in any way.
Child Safety
 This oven is designed to be operated by ad lts. Do not
allow children to play near or with the oven.
 The oven gets hot when it is in se. Children sho ld be
kept away ntil it has cooled.
During Use
 This oven is intended for domestic cooking only. It is
not designed for commercial or ind strial p rposes.
 Never line any part of the oven with aluminium foil.
 Do not allow heatproof cooking material, e.g. roasting
bags, to come into contact with oven elements.
Never place plastic or any other material which may
melt in or on the oven.
Do not place sealed cans or aerosols inside the oven.
They may explode if they are heated.
Do not hang towels, dishcloths or clothes from the
oven or its handle.
Do not se this oven if it is in contact with water and
never operate it with wet hands.
 Take great care when heating fats and oils as they
will ignite if they become too hot.
Always se oven gloves to remove and replace food
in the oven.
 Ens re that all control knobs are in the OFF position
when not in se.
Do not leave cookware containing foodst ffs, e.g. fat
or oil in or on the oven in case it is inadvertently
switched ON.
 When sing other electrical appliances, ens re the
cable does not come into contact with the hot s rfaces
of the cooking appliance.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Only clean this oven in accordance with the
instr ctions.
 The oven sho ld be kept clean at all times. A b ild- p
of fats or other foodst ffs co ld res lt in a fire,
especially in the grill pan.
 Always allow the oven to cool down and switch off the
electrical s pply before carrying o t any cleaning or
maintenance work.
Service
 This oven sho ld only be repaired or serviced by an
a thorised Service Engineer and only gen ine approved
spare parts sho ld be sed.
Environmental Information
 After installation, please dispose of the packaging
with d e regard to safety and the environment.
 When disposing of an old appliance, make it n sable,
by c tting off the cable. Remove any door catches,
to prevent small children being trapped inside.

an ensure it is passe on to any new owner.

level, and avoid small children to be exposed to the
heat when the appliance is operated, it is possible to

Oven Function Control Knob
Oven Light - The oven light will be on witho t any
cooking f nction
Defrost Setting - This setting is intended to assist in
thawing of frozen food.
Fan cooking - This allows yo to roast or roast and
bake simo ltaneo sly sing any shelf, witho t flavo r
transference.
Grill - The heat comes only from the top element.
hermostat Control Knob
T rn the thermostat control knob clockwise to select
temperat res between 50°C and 250°C (MAX).
hermostat Control Light (°C)
The thermostat control light will come on when the
thermostat control knob is t rned. The light will remain on
ntil the correct temperat re is reached. It will then cycle
on and off to show the temperat re is being maintained.
Mains on Light
The mains on light will come on when the oven f nction
control knob is set.
End of Cooking programmer
The end of cooking programmer allows the oven to switch
off a tomatically (it cannot be sed as a timer only).
The cooking d ration can be set p to 90 min tes
maxim m.
T rn the knob to 90, then t rn it back to the req ired
cooking time. At the end of the chosen cooking time the
timer clock a tomatically switches off the oven. At the
same time an aco stic signal is emitted which stops
a tomatically.
Note: for manual operation the switch shoul be
turne to the symbol showing a han .
he Safety hermostat
This oven is provided with a safety thermostat. In case of
malf nctioning of the main thermostat, and conseq ent
over-heating, the safety device will stop the power s pply
to the appliance. If this happens, call yo r local Service
Force Centre. Under no circ mstances sho ld yo
attempt to repair the appliance yo rself.
he cooling fan
The cooling fan operates d ring cooking. Air is expelled
thro gh vents between the oven door and the control
panel, as shown in the diagram.
The cooling fan may r n on after the oven is switched off
to keep the controls cool. This is q ite normal.

Condensation and steam
When food is heated it prod ces steam in the same way
as a boiling kettle. The oven vents allow some of this
steam to escape. However, always stan back from
the oven when opening the oven oor to allow any
b ild p of steam or heat to release.
If the steam comes into contact with a cool s rface on
the o tside of the oven, e.g. a trim, it will condense and
prod ce water droplets. This is q ite normal and is not a
fa lt with the oven.
To prevent discolo ration, reg larly wipe away
condensation and also soilage from s rfaces.
Cookware
 Use any oven proof cookware which will withstand
temperat res of 250°C.
 Baking trays, oven dishes, etc. sho ld not be placed
directly against the grid covering the fan at the back of
the oven, or placed on the oven base.
 Do not se baking trays larger than 30 cm x 35 cm (12
in x 14 in) as they will restrict the circ lation of heat
and may affect performance.

Dishes and tins vary in their thickness, cond ctivity,
colo r, etc. which affects the way they transmit heat to
the food inside them.
AAl mini m, earthenware, oven glassware and bright
shiny tensils red ce cooking and nderneath
browning.
BEnamelled cast iron, anodized al mini m, al mini m
with non-stick interior and colo red exterior and dark,
heavy tensils increase cooking and nderneath
browning.
Hints and Tips
Before the First Use
Using the Oven
Remove all packaging, both inside and outside
the appliance, before using it.
Before first se, the oven sho ld be heated witho t food.
D ring this time, an npleasant odo r may be emitted.
This is q ite normal.
1. Switch the oven f nction control knob to fan cooking
.
2. Set the thermostat control knob to MAX.
3. Open a window for ventilation.
4. Allow the oven to r n empty for approximately 45
min tes.
This proced re sho ld be repeated with the grill
f nction for approximately 5-10 min tes.
Always cook with the oven oor close .
Stand clear when opening the drop down oven door.
Do not allow it to fall open - support the door using
the door handle, until it is fully open.
The oven has fo r shelf levels, and is s pplied with
two shelves. The shelf positions are co nted from
the bottom of the oven as shown in the diagram.
Do not place cookware directly on the oven base.

How to use the Fan Oven
1. T rn the oven f nction control knob to
2. T rn the thermostat control to the req ired tempera-
t re.
THINGS TO NOTE
 The oven light will come on when the oven f nction
control knob is set.
 The oven fan will operate contin ally d ring cooking.
 The thermostat control light will remain on ntil the
correct temperat re is reached. It will then cycle on
and off to show that the temperat re is being
maintained.
NOTE
The action of the cooling fan will depend on how long the
oven has been sed and at what temperat re. It may not
switch in at all at lower temperat re settings nor r n on
where the oven has only been sed for a short time.

The air inside the oven is heated by the element aro nd
the fan sit ated behind the back panel. The fan circ lates
hot air to maintain an even temperat re inside the oven.
The a vantage of cooking with this function is
energy saving through:
l Faster Preheating
As the fan oven q ickly reaches temperat re, it is not
s ally necessary to preheat the oven altho gh yo may
find that yo need to allow an extra 5-7 min tes on
cooking times. For recipes which req ire higher
temperat res, best res lts are achieved if the oven is
preheated first, e.g. bread, pastries, scones, so ffles,
etc.
lLower Temperatures
Fan oven cooking generally req ires lower temperat res
than conventional cooking.
Follow the temperat res recommended in the cooking
chart. Remember to red ce temperat res by abo t 20-
25°C for yo r own recipes which se conventional cooking.
l Even Heating for Baking
The fan oven has niform heating on all shelf positions.
This means that batches of the same food can be cooked
in the oven at the same time. However, the top shelf may
brown slightly q icker than the lower one.
This is q ite s al. There is no mixing of flavo rs between
dishes.

Hints and ips
Shelf positions are not critical, b t make s re the shelves
are evenly spaced.
When cooking more than one dish in the fan oven, place
dishes centrally on the shelves rather than several dishes
on one shelf.
When the oven is f ll, yo may need to allow slightly
longer cooking time.
When the oven is f ll of the same food, e.g. eq al trays
of small cakes or eq al size victoria sandwich cakes,
then they will be cooked in the same time and removed
from the oven together. When different sizes of trays or
types of food, e.g. bisc its and cakes are cooked, they
will not necessarily be ready together.
The fan oven can be sed to heat foods thro gh witho t
thawing first, e.g. fr it tarts, mince pies, sa sage rolls,
and other small pastry items. Use a temperat re of 190-
200°C and allow 20-40 min tes (depending on the q antity
of food in the oven).

Cooking Chart
This chart is intended as a g ide only. It may be
necessary to increase or decrease the temperat re
to s it yo r individ al req irements. Only experience
will enable yo to determine the correct setting for
yo r personal req irements.
When roasting, ens re the meat is cooked
thoro ghly, se a meat thermometer if preferred to
check the centre temperat re has reached the
req ired temperat re (see table to the left).

The se of too high temperat res can ca se neven
browning. Check with the recommendations for oven
temperat res given in the cooking charts, b t be prepared
to adj st the temperat re, if necessary. Remember to
red ce temperat res by abo t 20-25°C for yo r own
conventional recipes.
When roasting do se the trivet in the meat tin. Fat and
meat j ices will drain into the meat tin below and can be
sed to make gravy. The trivet also prevents splashes of
fat from soiling the oven interior.
The meat tin shoul not be placed on a heated hotplate
as this may ca se the enamel to crack.

The oven fan operates witho t heat and circ lates the
air, at room temperat re, inside the oven. This increases
the speed of defrosting. However, please note that the
temperat re of the kitchen will infl ence the speed of
defrosting.
This f nction is partic larly s itable for delicate food which
co ld be damaged by heat, e.g. cream filled gatea x,
iced cakes, pastries, bread and other yeast prod cts.
How to Use Defrosting
1. T rn the oven f nction control knob to .
2. Ens re the thermostat control knob is in the OFF
position.
Hints and ips
 Cover food with a lid, al mini m foil or plastic film to
prevent drying o t d ring defrosting.
 ALWAYS COOK THOROUGHLY IMMEDIATELY
AFTER THAWING.
 Frozen food sho ld be placed in a single layer when
ever possible and t rned over half way thro gh the
defrosting process.
 Only joints of meat and po ltry p to 2 kg. (4 lb.) are
s itable for defrosting in this way.
Refer to the following table for approximate defrosting
times.

Grilling must be carried out with the oven door
closed.
The grill pan handle must be removed from the
pan during grilling. Always use oven gloves to
remove and replace the grill pan handle.
Ensure that you support the grill pan when
removing it from the oven.
How to Use the Grill
1. T rn the oven control f nction knob on .
2. T rn the thermostat control knob on the req ired tem-
perat re.
3. Adj st the grid and grill pan r nner position to allow
for different thicknesses of food. Position the food
close to the element for faster cooking and f rther
away for more gentle cooking.
Preheat the grill on a f ll setting for a few min tes before
sealing steaks or toasting. Adj st the heat setting and
the shelf as necessary, d ring cooking
D ring cooking, the cooling fan and the thermostat control
light will operate in the same way as described for the
fan oven f nction.
Hints and ips
- Most foods sho ld be placed on the grid in the grill
pan to allow maxim m circ lation of air to lift the food
o t of the fats and j ices. Food s ch as fish, liver and
kidneys may be placed directly on the grill pan, if
preferred.
- Food sho ld be thoro ghly dried before grilling to
minimise splashing. Br sh lean meats and fish lightly
with a little oil or melted b tter to keep them moist
d ring cooking.
- Accompaniments s ch as tomatoes and m shrooms
may be placed nderneath the grid when grilling meats
- When toasting bread, we s ggest that the top r nner
position is sed with the grid in its 'high' position.
- The food sho ld be t rned over d ring cooking, as
req ired.
The grill element is controlled by the thermostat. D ring
cooking, the grill cycles on and off to prevent overheating.

efore cleaning always allow the cooling fan to
cool the oven down before switching off at the
electricity supply.
This appliance cannot be cleaned with steam or
with a steam cleaning machine.
The oven should be kept clean at all times. A
build-up of fats or other foodstuffs could result in
a fire, especially in the grill pan.
Cleaning materials
Before sing any cleaning materials on yo r oven, check
that they are s itable and that their se is recommended
by the man fact rer.
Cleaners that contain bleach sho ld NOT be sed as
they may d ll the s rface finishes. Harsh abrasives
sho ld also be avoided.
External cleaning
Reg larly wipe over the control panel, oven door and door
seal sing a soft cloth well wr ng o t in warm water to
which a little washing p liq id has been added.
To prevent damaging or weakening the door glass
panels avoid the use of the following:
 Household detergent and bleaches
 Impregnated pads unsuitable for non-
stick saucepans
 rillo/Ajax pads or steel wool pads
 Chemical oven pads or aerosols
 Rust removers
 ath/Sink stain removers
Clean the o ter and inner door glass sing warm soapy
water. Sho ld the inner door glass become heavily soiled
it is recommended that a cleaning prod ct s ch as Hob
Brite is sed.
DO NOT clean the oven door while the glass
panels are warm. If this precaution is not observed
the glass panel may shatter.
If the door glass panel becomes chipped or has
deep scratches, the glass will be weakened and
must be replaced to prevent the possibility of the
panel shattering. Contact your local Service Centre
who will be pleased to advise further.
Cleaning the Oven

Replacing the Oven Light

Disconnect the appliance.
If the oven b lb needs replacing, it m st comply with the
following specifications:
- Electric power: 15W,
- Electric rate: 230-240 V (50 Hz),
- Resistant to temperat res of 300°C,
- Connection type: E14.
These b lbs are available from yo r local Service Force
Centre.
To replace the fa lty b lb:
1. Ens re the oven is disconnected from the
electrical s pply.
2. T rn the glass cover anticlockwise.
3. Remove the fa lty b lb and replace with the
new one.
4. Refit the glass cover.
5. Reconnect to the electrical s pply.

Oven Cavity
The enamelled oven cavity is best cleaned whilst the oven
is still warm.
Wipe the oven over with a soft cloth soaked in warm soapy
water after each se. From time to time it will be
necessary to do a more thoro gh cleaning, sing a
proprietary oven cleaner.
If the soilage has become set, after the oven has cooled
down, the following process will help to soften the splatters
to help make cleaning easier.
1. Place the grill/ meat pan on the oven shelf positioned
in the lowest r nner.
2. Add a few drops of washing- p liq id to the pan and
fill to abo t 12 mm. with boiling water from the kettle.
3. Close the oven door, t rn the oven f nction knob on
fan oven and set the thermostat knob on 50°C.
4. After 15 min tes, t rn off the thermostat and allow
the fan oven to contin e witho t heat for a f rther 5
min tes, when the temperat re of the water will have
cooled down.
5. Caref lly remove the pan of water from the oven and
se normal oven cleaners to clean away soil resid es.
6. Leave a little of the soapy water to soak into any
b rned on spillage on the floor of the oven for a longer
time if necessary.
Oven Shelves
To clean the oven shelves, soak in warm soapy water and
remove st bborn marks with a well wetted soap
impregnated pad. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.

Something not working

SOLUTION
uCheck the oven is in manual operation and that both a
cooking function and temperature have been selected.
uCheck the oven is wired in properly, and the socket
switch or the switch from the mains supply to the oven
are ON.
uSelect a temperature with the thermostat control knob
uSelect a function with the oven function control knob.
uSelect a function with the oven function control knob.
uCheck the light bulb, and replace it if necessary see
"Replacing the Oven Light")
uThe temperature may need adjusting
uRefer to the contents of this booklet, especially to the
chapter Using the Oven.
uLeave dishes inside the oven no longer than 15-20
minutes after the cooking is completed.
uCheck the instructions for the programmer.
uCheck that shelves and bakeware are not vibrating in
contact with the oven back panel.
If the appliance is not working correctly, please carry out the following checks before contacting your local Service
Force Centre.

We, Zan ssi, ndertake that if, within 24 months of the
date of the p rchase, this Zan ssi appliance or any part
thereof is proved to be defective by any reason only of
fa lty workmanship or materials, we will, at o r option,
repair or replace the same FREE OF ANY CHARGE for
labo r, materials or carriage on condition that:
* The appliance has been correctly installed and sed
only on the gas and electricity s pply stated on the
rating plate.
* The appliance has been sed for normal domestic
p rpose only, and in accordance with the
man fact rer's instr ctions.
* The appliance has not been serviced, maintained,
repaired, taken apart or tampered with by any person
not a thorised by s.
* All service work nder this g arantee m st be
ndertaken by a Zan ssi Service Centre.
* Any appliance or defective part replaced shall
become the Company's property.
* This g arantee is in addition to yo r stat tory and
other legal rights.
Home visits are made between 8.30am an 5.30pm
Monday to Friday. Visits may be available o tside these
ho rs, in which case a premium will be charged.
Exclusions
This guarantee oes not cover:
* Damage or calls res lting from transportation,
improper se or neglect, the replacement of any light
b lbs or removable parts of glass or plastic.

which is improperly installed or calls to appliance
o tside the United Kingdom.

This oven must be installed by qualified
personnel to the relevant ritish Standards.
Electrical Connection
Installation
The oven is designed to be connected to 230-240V (50Hz)
electricity s pply.
The oven has an easily accessible terminal block which
is marked as follows:
Letter L - Live terminal
Letter N - Ne tral terminal
or E - Earth terminal
THIS OVEN MUST BE EARTHED
The cable sed to connect the oven to the electrical
s pply m st comply to the specifications given below.
It is necessary that yo install a do ble pole switch
between the oven and the electricity s pply (mains), with
a minim m gap of 3mm between the switch contacts and
of a type s itable for the req ired load in compliance with
the c rrent r les.
The switch m st not break the yellow and green earth
cable at any point.
Important
After installation and connecting, the cable m st be
