Installation Instructions: (Please follow carefully)
You can install your VeilGuardTM Electronic Door Lock by
yourself or you can have a qualified locksmith install it for you.
Deadbolt Assembly and Door Latch:
• The VeilGuardTM Electronic Door Lock can be installed on doors
opening from either the left or right. To change the side from
which the lock operates, the main assembly screws (4) must be
removed. Lift the cover and remove the screws holding the bolt
mechanism. Turn the bolt mechanism around so the bolt points
towards the side you need. Secure the bolt mechanism with the
screws (4).
• Position the main lock assembly at the required height. Mark the
holes (8) for the mounting screws. Align the rubber door
protector, metal plate, and lock assembly with the marks. Attach
with the mounting screws.
• Replace lock assembly cover and secure with the screws (4).
• Slide battery compartment cover down and insert the four (4) AA
batteries. Insure batteries are installed according to the diagram
in the battery holder. When the batteries are installed properly,
the lock assembly will activate.
• Place the door latch on the doorframe and align it with the
deadbolt. Mark the screw holes. Two spacers are included to
adjust the height of the door latch. After proper alignment,
attached the latch to the doorframe with the screws provided.
Setting Up the Tel-Cat Control Unit:
• Move the switch to either Tone or Pulse mode
• Connect power adapter to an electrical outlet
• Slide open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the
control unit. Install one 9-volt battery and close the cover.
• Connect telephone cord (provided) into a telephone jack and
connect a telephone in the other port on the control unit.
• Connect the power adapter plug to the control unit.
• After following these steps, you will hear a beeping sound when
you pick up your telephone receiver.
Placement of the Motion Sensor:
• Open the battery compartment cover on the side of the sensor
and install one 9-volt battery.
• Select the best location for placement of the sensor and attach
with the mounting screws provided. For best results:
o Do Not install on your porch or outside
o Avoid places where pets or other moving objects are
visible (including outside traffic)
o The effective detection range for the sensor is 110
degrees to the left or right of the unit and 70 degrees
up or down from the unit.
o The manufacturer recommends placing the sensor in a
sitting room near the entrance for residential installation
or in the center of the room in an office location.
Now that you have installed your VeilGuardTM Electronic Door Lock, this
is how you operate the system:
Door Lock Assembly:
• Registration of the Remote Control Access Key:
o Slide open the battery cover on the main lock assembly
o Locate the button on the left side just above the batteries

o Press either the Lock/Unlock Button on the remote.
• Registration of Tele-Cat Control Unit:
o Press the left button above the batteries on the main
lock assembly then press the going out/release button
on the control unit
o Press the Open/Close button to lock/unlock the door.
• Automatic Locking Option: (Locks the deadbolt)
o On the side of the main lock assembly, there is a switch
to select one of three options.
• Option 1 – Disable automatic locking
• Option 2 – Enable 15 second locking
• Option 3 – Enable magnatic sensor auto locking
CAUTION: If the auto-lock feature is not disabled, the door will
lock after the selected time.
• Setting Up the Sleep Mode:
o Press and hold the Lock/Unlock button for a few
seconds
• Setting Up the Going Out Mode:
o Press and hold the Lock button on the Remote for a few
seconds until the unit chimes
CAUTION: When in the Going Out Mode, the Lock/Unlock
button on the main assembly will not function from inside. The
lock can only be released by use of the remote control or by
telephone access.
• Low/Dead Battery indicator:
o The Tele-Cat control unit will give you a verbal warning
to change batteries. The unit will sound three times to
alert you to change the batteries and will warn you with
five (5) beeps each time you lock/unlock the door until
you change the batteries.
Registering a Remote Control or Sensor with the Tele-Cat Control
Unit:
• Remote Control Registration:
o Press the Remote Control button on the Control Unit.
The unit will display “-“ on the LED and will beep.
o Then press either button on the remote you wish to
register. If properly entered, the control unit will display
“R1”, “R2”, etc. and the unit will beep.
• Sensor Registration:
o Press the Remote Registration button on the control unit.
The unit will display “—“ on the LED.
o The unit will detect the Sensor and display “H1”, or “H2”,
etc. and the unit will beep.
• Removal of Remote Controls or Sensors:
o To remove a registered remote control or sensor, press
the remote registration button on the unit for a few
seconds. The control unit will beep 3 times.
o If you choose to use that remote control or sensor again,
each must be registered again according to the
instructions above.
Setting Up Passwords and Telephone Contact Numbers:
• Press the “Password/Phone button on the control unit. The
control unit will display “ID” on the LED and the unit will beep.
• Use the telephone keypad to establish your password.
o You may use from 3 to 7 numbers for your password
• After entering your number, press the Password/Phone button.
The unit will display “P1” on the LED and the unit will beep.
• You may input up to 5 telephone contact numbers by repeating
the above process.
Removal of Telephone Numbers:
• You may remove individual telephone numbers from the control
unit’s memory.
o Press the Password/Phone button on the control unit.
The unit will display “P1” on the LED and the unit will
beep. Press the button a few times until the control unit
displays “P2”
• To remove all programmed telephone numbers; press the
Password/Phone button a few times until the control unit displays
“—“ on the LED.

Confirmation of Telephone Numbers:
To confirm the correct telephone number and priority of calling:
• Press the “Confirmation” button on the control unit. The control
unit will display “P1” on the LED and the unit will beep.
• Press the “Confirmation” button again and the control unit will
display the memorized telephone number on the LED.
• If the memorized telephone number is correct, press the
“Confirmation” button. Repeat as necessary for all additional
telephone numbers.
Changing the Priority Order for Telephone Numbers:
To change order which the emergency calls are placed:
• Press “Confirmation” button on control unit. The unit will display
a blinking “P1” on the LED and the unit will beep.
• Change the priority of “P2” by pressing the number on your
telephone keypad.
• The priority of additional telephone numbers can be changed by
repeating the above steps.
Opening the Door
• Press the “Release/Going Out” button. The control unit will
display “[ ]” on the LED
How to Set Up the “Going Out” mode:
• From the Tel-Cat control Unit:
o Press and hold the “Release/Going Out” button for a few
seconds. The control unit will display “Eh” on the LED
• From your remote control:
o Press the “lock” button for a few seconds. The control
unit will beep when this mode is activated
How to Release the “Going Out” mode:
• From the Tel-Cat control Unit:
o Press and hold the “Release/Going Out” button for a few
seconds. The control unit will display “E0” on the LED.
o Then use your telephone to enter your password.
• From your remote control:
o Press the “Unlock” button on the remote
How to Activate the S.O.S. Alarm:
• Press and hold the “Unlock” button on the remote for a few
(5)seconds. The control unit will display “D-“ on the LED and the
siren will sound.
• The control unit will automatically call programmed emergency
telephone numbers
How to Stop the S.O.S. Alarm:
• From the Tel-Cat control Unit:
o Press and hold the “Release/Going Out” button for a few
seconds. The control nit will display “E0” on the LED.
o Then use your telephone to enter your password.
• From your remote control:
o Press the “Unlock” button for a few (5)seconds.
How to Enable/Disable Siren:
• To enable the siren, press and hold both buttons on the remote.
The control unit will display “ON” on the LED. When on, the
siren will sound if activated.
• To disable the siren, press and hold both buttons on the remote.
The control unit will display “OF” on the LED. When off, the siren
will not sound if activated
Operating the RF Type Electronic Door Lock by Telephone:
This feature is designed to allow you to use your telephone to
operate your electronic door lock. You can lock or unlock the door and
check the status of the system by using either an ordinary or cellular
telephone.
• You may choose between Tone or Pulse according to your
telephone system.
• Tone or Pulse selection must be made with the battery and
power cord disconnected. After selection of mode, reinstall the
battery and reconnect the power cord.
o Option 1 – Tone
o Option 2 – Pulse 20T
o Option 3 – Pulse 10T

• Only Tone mode telephone systems can be used to operate the
electronic door lock, receive emergency system calls, and to
enter passwords into the control unit. Pulse or rotary telephones
can not be used to activate the control unit or door lock assembly.
Emergency Calls from your control Unit:
When your unit detects an emergency, is will automatically called
the numbers you programmed according to the above instructions.
Receiving an Emergency Call:
• Press the proper buttons according to the voice prompts from
your system.
• System will make programmed calls automatically for five (5)
minutes.
• After 5 minutes, control unit will stop calling but the system siren
will continue for an additional 5 minutes
Ending an Emergency Call:
• To end the call by telephone, enter your password according to
the voice prompt.
• To end the call by remote control, press and hold “Unlock” button
for a few seconds.
• To end the call by using the control unit, press and hold the
“Release/Going Out” button for a few seconds. The control unit
will display “EO” on the LED. Using your telephone keypad,
enter your password.
Changing Batteries:
Batteries will require periodic replacement. You will receive
voice prompts and other indicators informing you of the need to replace
the batteries.
• Door Lock: (Battery – LR6, 1.5-volt AA (4 each)
o You will receive voice prompts to change the batteries
o Lock assembly will sound and red light will blink 5 times
• Tel-Cat Control Unit: (Battery – 6LF22, 9-volt)
o You will receive a voice prompt to change the battery
o Control unit will display “bc” on the LED when it is time to
change the battery
• Remote Control Key (Battery – CR2032, 3-volt)
o Replace the battery when the light dims significantly
• Sensor: (Battery – 6LF22, 9-volt)
o You will receive a voice prompt when it is time to change
the battery.
Important – When replacing the batteries, replace all of them at one time.
Trouble Shooting (Error Codes):
When “Going Out” mode is set on Tele-Cat Control Unit:
• Error Code E1: Remote Control Key not registered
o Solution: Register Remote Control Key
• Error Code E2: Password not registered
o Solution: Register password
Additional Precautions:
• Keep all components in a dry location
• Use a clean, dry cloth to clean as necessary. Do not use water
• Do not disassemble any components (except to reverse
deadbolt)
• Frequently change your password for added security
• Make sure all batteries are installed correctly. If polarity is
changed the system may be damaged.
• Make sure the system does not accidentally lock you out when
using the automatic relock feature.
