1.0 HARDWARE SETUP
•Open the enclosure with
the included screw driver
•Make sure that your SATA 2.5” drive
has the jumper set in “Master” mode.
•Connect the HD properly
and close the enclosure
with the screws
•Connect the USB cable to
the enclosure and then to your
computer.
•The computer should now detect
the new drive.
2.0 FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE
(Windows)
(If the drive already appears in
“My Computer”, please skip to 2.2)

For an un-partitioned or un-formatted
new drive, it normally does not
automatically appear in “My Computer”

in the first time. Please follow these
steps:
Windows 2000/XP/VISTA/7
•Right click on “My Computer” and
choose “Manage” from the
drop-down list. A window titled
“Computer Management” will pop up.
•Click on the “Disk Management”.
All connected disk drives will be
displayed in the lower right-hand
corner of the window. Carefully
locate your new external drive, right
click on it to initialize your drive,
create or delete new partitions,
and/or format an existing partition.
2.2
Go to “My Computer”, locate the
removable disk, right click on it, and
select “Format” from the drop-down
list, follow the instructions to complete
the formatting process.
Note:
Using this method to format your drive

will result in a single partition in the
largest drive capacity, which is also
highly recommended.
Note:
For Windows 2000/XP/VISTA/7, the
default choice is NTFS. However, you
can also choose to format the drive
with FAT32 ONLY IF the drive size if
smaller or equal to 32GB.
3.0 FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE (Mac OS X)
In Mac OS X open a new Finder
window and navigate to applications.
In the folder "Utilities" you can find
the application "Disk Utility", open it.
Select the drive in the left column and
navigate through right side options
for partition and formatting. Use the
recommended format if you want to
use you drive only with Mac, or use
NTFS if you want to share contents
between Mac OS X and Windows based
computers.

computer, why?
A: Please make sure your drive is set
to “Master”, also check section 2.0
to initialize your drive.

1.0 CONFIGURAÇÃO DE HARDWARE
•Abra a caixa recorrendo à chave
de parafusos incluída
•Certifique-se que o seu disco SATA
2.5” tem o jumper em modo “Master”
•Conecte o disco correctamente e volte
a fechar a caixa com os parafusos
•Conecte o cabo USB na caixa
externa e depois no seu computador.
•O seu computador deverá agora
detectar o disco.
2.0 FORMATAÇÃO DO DISCO (Windows)
(Se o seu disco aparece no “O Meu
Computador”, passe para o item 2.2)
2.1
Um disco não formatado ou não
particionado, normalmente não
aparece automaticamente em
“O Meu Computador”.

Por favor, siga estes passos:
Windows 2000/XP/VISTA/7
•Clique com o botão direito do rato
sobre “O Meu Computador” e
seleccione “Gerir”. Irá surgir uma
janela intitulada “Gestão de
Computadores”.
•Clique em “Gestão de Discos”. Todos
os discos conectados serão exibidos
na janela. Localize o seu disco
externo, clique com botão direito do
rato de forma a iniciar o disco, criar,
eliminar ou formatar partições
existentes.
2.2
Aceda a “O Meu Computador”, localize
o disco removível, faça clique com o
botão direito do rato e seleccione
formatar, siga as instruções de forma a
completar o processo de formatação.
Nota:
Ao formatar o seu disco desta forma,
irá resultar numa única partição com a

capacidade maxima do seu disco, o que
é recomendado.
Nota:
Para o Windows 2000/XP/VISTA/7,
por predefinição, a formatação é feita
no sistema de ficheiros NTFS. No
entanto, poderá formatar o seu disco
em sistema de ficheiros FAT32, se este
tiver uma capacidade igual ou inferior
a 32GB.
3.0 FORMATAÇÃO DO DISCO (Mac OS X)
No Mac OS X abra uma nova janela do
Finder e navegue para as aplicações.
Na pasta "Utilitários" encontra-se a
aplicação "Utilitário de Disco", abra-a.
Seleccione o seu disco na coluna da
esquerda e navegue pelas opções
no lado direito para fazer partições e
formatar. Use o formato recomendado
pelo programa para usar apenas com
Mac, ou formate em NTFS para usar
com computadores Mac e Windows.
