1 Safety
Familiarization with the safety notices and safety regulations is
necessary to ensure safe and trouble-free operation of the
street sweeper.
You must therefore read this chapter carefully before operating
the street sweeper, and observe the information and warnings.
Observance of the safety notices and warnings contained in the
relevant sections of the following chapters is also obligatory.
The manufacturer cannot be held liable in the event of failure to
observe the notices and warnings.
In addition to the information in this operating manual, you must
also take into account the relevant statutory regulations, in
particular the safety and accident prevention regulations.
1.1 Intended use
The Limpar Akku 26 may be used only for cleaning pathways
and surfaces paved with concrete, asphalt, paving stones or
slabs in outdoor areas.
Intended use also includes observance of all information
contained in the operating manual.
DANGER!
Any other use of the street sweeper than that described above can
cause dangerous situations for human beings and/or property
damage.
Therefore:
Use the street sweeper only for the intended purpose.
Observe all information in this operating manual at all times.
In particular, do not use the street sweeper for the tasks listed
in section 1.2. They are deemed contrary to the intended
purpose.
Safety

page 8 of 38 11/22/2021 Limpar Akku 26
1.2 Unintended use
Any use of the street sweeper that deviates from that described
in section 1.1 is deemed contrary to the intended purpose.
Unintended use of the street sweeper includes
use for cleaning unpaved surfaces, such as gravel paths,
use for cleaning roofs or flat roofs,
use in enclosed areas, such as halls or stables,
use for transporting people or objects,
use for moving or towing objects or vehicles,
operation in faulty condition or with safety-related faults,
operation without the standard protective covers mounted,
use by unsuitable personnel.
1.3 Product monitoring

1.4 Operator requirements
and personnel requirements
Use of the street sweeper is permitted only for personnel who
have reached the age of 16,
are physically and mentally capable,
have read and understood this operating manual, and
can be expected to carry out the tasks assigned to them in
a responsible manner.
Commissioning, maintenance, repair and disposal of the street
sweeper must be carried out by the dealer or personnel with the
appropriate technical training and experience.
1.5 Danger zone
The danger zone is the area in which the safety or health of
human beings is jeopardized. Therefore, no one is allowed to
enter this area during operation of the street sweeper.
WARNING!
A
nyone in the danger zone is in danger of being injured when the
street sweeper starts driving and from sweepings being kicked up.
Therefore:
Operate the street sweeper only if no one is within the dange
r
zone.
Watch the danger zone attentively and stop the street sweepe
r
if anyone enters the danger zone.
The danger zone is depicted in the drawing (Figure 1 on the
following page):
The street sweeper is shown in top view. The danger zone is
designated by the hatched area.
The danger zone is defined to the right and left side by the
width of the sweeping brush. Toward the front of the street
sweeper the length of the danger zone is 5 meters in front of
the sweeping brush.
NOTICE
When the sweeping brush is turned to the right or left, this change in
direction likewise applies for the danger zone.

1.6 Work clothing
WARNING!
Unsuitable work clothing, such as loose-fitting clothing, kerchiefs,
neckties and scarves can be caught and pulled in by the sweeping
brush.
This will result in severe injuries.
Therefore:
Always wear suitable, close-fitting work clothing during
operation of the street sweeper and during maintenance and
repair work.
No special protective clothing is necessary for working with the
street sweeper. However, you should always wear close-fitting
work clothing that cannot get caught in the sweeping brush and
that is suitable for the weather conditions, as well as sturdy
shoes.
For commercial use, the owner is responsible for selecting
suitable work clothing and ensuring that it is worn by personnel.
1.7 Safety equipment and protective devices
1.7.1 Safety switches
The control levers for power drive and rotation of the sweeping
brushes are designed as safety switches. Pushing the control
levers down against the steering bar engages the sweeping
brush and power drive.
To stop the street sweeper, it is sufficient to release the control
levers.
1.7.2 Sweeping brush deck
The sweeping brush deck is mounted as a protective cover
above the sweeping brushes to protect operating personnel
from kicked up sweepings.
1.7.3 Protective cover
The V-belt drives inside the street sweeper are danger areas
that are protected by the front protective cover and the housing.
Safety

page 12 of 38 11/22/2021 Limpar Akku 26
1.8 Safety and accident prevention regulations
Observe the following information to prevent personal injury and
property damage. For commercial use, also observe the safety
and accident prevention regulations of the employers’ liability
insurance associations.
The street sweeper must always be operated with properly
mounted guards and safety devices (see section 1.7). This
equipment may be removed only for purpose of maintenance
and repairs. After completion of these tasks, the guards and
safety devices must be mounted again immediately.
Otherwise there is a serious danger of injury.
Use the street sweeper only for its intended use, to prevent
dangerous situations that can lead to injuries or death (for
intended use, see chapter 1.1).
Poor light conditions during operation can cause various
dangers. Operate the street sweeper only under sufficient
light conditions.
When sweeping along walls, there is a danger of the skin
being grazed. Avoid touching walls with your hands, and
wear protective gloves.
Maintenance and repair work may be performed only by the
dealer or by trained personnel.
Observe the safety stickers affixed to the street sweeper. Do
not remove them. If they have become illegible or have been
lost, they must be replaced (for meaning of stickers see
section 1.10). Please contact your dealer to obtain new
stickers.
Wear close-fitting clothing. Tie long hair back.
Safety

Limpar Akku 26 11/22/2021 page 13 of 38
Do not operate the street sweeper if it is in a defective
condition, since this can result in serious injuries. In the
event of faults, shut down the street sweeper and initiate
repairs.
Intended use of the street sweeper includes carrying out
the required maintenance and repair work, in particular
compliance with the maintenance intervals. If you fail to
carry out these tasks, trouble-free functioning of the
machine cannot be ensured. Dangers to people and
property can occur. We recommend that you keep
maintenance logs.
Shut down the street sweeper before carrying out
maintenance and repairs, and also before cleaning the
machine. Take measures (by removing the key from the
key-operated switch, for example) to ensure that no one
else can switch on the street sweeper. Otherwise there is a
danger of injury.
Use only original replacement parts and accessories that
are approved by the manufacturer. Use of other parts will
void any liability for resulting damages.
1.9 Disposal
When the street sweeper has exceeded its useful life, have it
disposed of by qualified specialists. The manufacturer assumes
no liability for damages resulting from improper disposal.
