I
NTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the Raven AccuBoom system! This
system is designed to provide worry free turn-on and turn-off of your
booms with respect to the as-applied coverage map. The following
instructions are designed to assist you in the proper installation of the
AccuBoom system. See the Viper Installation and Operators Manual for
instructions on setting up the software and using the AccuBoom system.
You will also need a valid AccuBoom Control Activation Key for your
Viper system in order to activate the AccuBoom system.
Components
Needed
• Parallel AccuBoom Control Node - P/N 063-0172-517
• Universal Parallel AccuBoom Cable - P/N 115-0171-500
• AccuBoom Control Activation Key - P/N 077-0180-010
Important! All boom switches must remain in
the OFF position while AccuBoom control is in
operation!

NSTALLATION
Use the following procedure to properly install the Universal Parallel
AccuBoom cable:
1. Disconnect the existing console cable.
Note: The Universal Parallel AccuBoom cable is compatible with the
Raven SCS440, SCS450, SCS460, SCS660, and SCS661 consoles
only).

2. Connect the AccuBoom cable:
a. Connect the Universal Parallel AccuBoom cable
(P/N 115-0171-500) to the back of the Raven console.
b. Connect the other connector on the Universal Parallel AccuBoom
cable (P/N 115-0171-500) to the console cable previously
disconnected from the console.
3. Route the AccuBoom cable:
a. Route the Parallel AccuBoom Universal cable (P/N 115-0171-500)
from the console connection to the Viper connection point.

b. Route the two rectangular Deutsche connectors to a location
convenient to mount the AccuBoom node.
4. Mount the AccuBoom node:
a. Identify a location for the Parallel AccuBoom node
(P/N 063-0172-517) that will protect it from the elements as
much as possible.
b. Bolt the Parallel AccuBoom node (P/N 163-0172-517) securely in
place.
5. Connect the AccuBoom cable to the AccuBoom node:

a. Connect the rectangular connectors from the Parallel AccuBoom
Universal cable (P/N 115-0171-500) to the CAN AccuBoom node
(P/N 063-0172-517).
6. Connect the master switch power to the AccuBoom node:
a. Connect the red wire to the master power switch.
Note: The combined current of all the boom value control signals
will run through this wire. If the master switch can not support
sufficient current capabilities, wire in a relay to handle the needed
current.
b. Connect the 15 pin D-sub connector from the Parallel AccuBoom
Universal cable (P/N 115-0171-500) to the mating 15 pin D-sub
connector on the Viper cable.

7. The Parallel AccuBoom installation is now complete. Install the
Activation Key in the Viper system and program the look-ahead value
in the AccuBoom look-ahead setup screen. See the Viper Installation
and Operators Manual (P/N 016-0159-894) for more information on
setting the look-ahead value.

LIMITED WARRANTY
WHAT IS COVERED?
This warranty covers all defects in workmanship or materials in your Raven
Flow Control Product under normal use, maintenance, and service.
HOW LONG IS THE COVERAGE PERIOD?
This warranty coverage runs for 12 months from the purchase date of your
Raven Flow Control Product. This warranty coverage applies only to the
original owner and is not transferrable.
HOW CAN YOU GET SERVICE?
Bring the defective part, and proof of date of purchase, to your local dealer.
Ifyourdealeragreeswiththewarrantyclaim,hewillsendthepart,andproof
of purchase to his distributor or to Raven for final approval.
WHAT WILL RAVEN INDUSTRIES DO?
Whenour inspectionprovesthe warrantyclaim,we will,atour option,repair
or replace the defective part and pay for return freight.
WHAT DOES THIS WARRANTY NOT COVER?
Raven Industries will not assume any expense or liability for repairs made
outsideourplantwithoutwrittenconsent. Wearenotresponsiblefordamage
toanyassociatedequipmentorproductandwillnotbeliableforlossofprofit
orotherspecialdamages. Theobligationofthiswarrantyisinlieuofallother
warranties,expressedorimplied,andnopersonisauthorizedtoassumefor
usany liability. Damagescausedby normalwearandtear,mis-use, abuse,
neglect,accident,orimproperinstallation andmaintenance arenot covered
by this warranty.
