The following symptoms arenormalwith LCD monitorand donotindicateaproblem.
NOTES
·Due to the natureofthefluorescentlight,the screenmay flickerduring initial use.
Turnoff thePower Switch and thenturn it on again to make sure the flicker disappears.
·Youmay find slightly uneven brightness on the screendepending on the desktop
pattern you use.
·The LCD screen has effectivepixels of99.99%ormore.Itmay includeblemishesof
0.01%orless suchas amissing pixelorapixellitallof the time.
·Due tothe nature of the LCDscreen, an afterimage of the previous screen may
remain afterswitching theimage,when thesameimage is displayedfor hours. In
this case,the screen isrecoveredslowlybychanging the image or turning off the
PowerSwitch forhours.

LCD monitor.The AL2202W monitor provides flicker-free and color images at optional
resolutions. Through this user guide, wewill introduce you step-by-step all the features,
functionsand technicalspecificationsof theLCDmonitor.Surelyyouwillhave arefreshing
experience working with the monitor.
FEATURES
TheAL2202W isa22-inchTFTLCDmonitor thatisintelligent,microprocessor-based and
ergonomically designeddisplay,compatiblewithmostanalogRGB (Red, Green, Blue)and
Digital displaystandards, including PS/V,PS/2, optional for Apple Macintosh Centris,
Quadra, and Macintosh II familysignals. The LCD monitor is capable of displaying crisp
and vibrant color graphics with VGA,SVGA,XGA,SXGA (non-interlaced),SXGA, WSXGA
and most Macintosh compatible color video cards.
·The monitor is able to properlyfunction even in case of upgrade video cards or
software because of the wide auto-scanning compatibility range without requiring to
buy anew monitor.
·The internal microprocessor digitallycontrols auto-scanning. For horizontal scan
frequenciesbetween 30 KHz and81 KHz,andverticalscan frequencies between56 Hz
and 76 Hz. In each frequencymode, the microprocessor-based circuitry allowsthe
monitor to function at the precision-of afixed frequency.
·The resident memoryallows for storing factorydefault settings and also additional
user adjustment parameters.
·Themaximumresolutionachievable isWSXGA(1680x1050),best suitedforWindows
applications

SCREEN POSITIONADJUSTMENT
In oder to optimize the best viewing position, you can adjust the tilt of the monitor by
using both of your hands to hold the edges of the monitor as shownin the figure below.
The monitor can be adjusted to 20 degrees up or 5 degrees down as indicated byarrow
below.
Attaching /Removing the Base
Install:
Align the four hooks on the bottomof
the monitor with the corresponding
slots on the bottomof the base.
Remove:
Depress the four hooks as indicated first
before removing the base and followthe
arrowdirection to remove it.

CONNECTING THE POWER CORD
·Check first to make sure that the power cord you use is the correct type required for
your area.
·This monitor has a universal power supplythat allows operation in either 100/120V
ACor 220/240 VACvoltage area. No user-adjustment is required.
·Plug one end of the power cord to the ACInlet, plug another end to aproper AC
outlet.
·For unit using at 120 VAC:
Use aULListed Cord Set, Type SVT wire and plug rated10 A/125 V.
·For unit using at 220/240 VAC(outsideof U.S.):
Use aCord Set consisting of H05VV-F cord and plug rated 10 A,250 V.The cord set
should have the appropriate safetyapprovals for the countryin which the equipment
willbeinstalled.
SAFETY PRECAUTION
·Avoid placing the monitor,or any other heavy object, on the power cord to avoid
damage to the cable.
·Do not expose the monitor to rain, excessive moisture, or dust.
·Donot covertheventilationslotsor openings of themonitor.Alwaysputthemonitor
in aplace where there is adequate ventilation.
·Avoid placing the monitor against abright background or where sunlight or other
light sources may reflect on the face of the monitor.Place the monitor just below
eye level.
·Handle with care when transporting the monitor.
·Refrain fromgiving shock or scratch to the screen, as screen is fragile.
CLEANING YOUR MONITOR
Please carefullyfollow the below guidelines when cleaning the monitor.
·Alwaysunplug the monitor before cleaning.
·Use asoft cloth to wipe the screen and cabinet front and sides.

PRESETMODES
Toreduce the need for adjustment for different modes, the monitor has default setting
modes that are most commonlyused as given in the table below.For optimumadjustment,
the user is suggested to performthe Auto Setup under Windows “Full Screen” pattern or
using the pattern in the floppydisk provided. When none of the mode is matched, the user
can store their preferred modes in the user modes. The monitor is capable of storing up to
9user modes. The onlycondition to store as auser mode is the newdisplayinformation
must have 1KHz difference for horizontal frequencyor 1Hz for vertical frequencyor the
sync signal polarities are different from the default modes.

POWER SAVING
The monitor will be driven into “Power Saving” mode bythe control
s
ignal fromthe
displaycontroller,as indicated bythe amber-color power LED.
The powersaving states willbekeptuntilacontrolsignalhas been detected orthe
keyboard or mouseis activated. TherecoverytimefromActiveOFF state back toON state
is around 5seconds.
DDC
To make your installation easier, the monitor is able to Plug and Playwith your systemif
yoursystemalso supports DDC protocol. The DDC (DisplayDataChannel) is a
communication protocol through whichthe monitor automaticallyinformsthehost system
about its capabilities, for example, supported resolutions and corresponding timing. The
monitor supports DDC2B standard.

INSTALLATION
Toinstall the monitor to your host system,please followthe steps as given below:

1.1-1Connect Video Cable
a. Make sure both the monitor and computer are powered-OFF.
b. Connect the VGAvideo cable to the computer.
1-2DigitalCable(Only Dual-InputModel)
a. Make sure both the monitor and computer are powered-OFF.
b. Connect one end of the 24-pin DVI cable to the back of the monitorand
connect the other end to the computer’sport.
2.Connect power cord
Connect the power cord to the monitor, then to a properlygrounded AC outlet.
3.Power-ON Monitor and Computer
Power-ON the monitor first, then power-ON the computer.
This sequence is veryimportant.
4.Ifthemonitor stilldoesnot function properly,pleaserefer to thetroubleshootingsection
to diagnose the problem.

USER CONTROLS
Front Panel Controls
1.Power Switch:
Toturn ON or OFF the power.
2.PowerLED:
Lights up to indicate the power is turned ON.
3.Auto Adjust button / Exit:
1)WhenOSDmenuis inactive status,this buttonwill act asEXIT-KEY(EXIT OSDmenu).
2)When OSD menu is in offstatus, press this button for 2seconds to activate the Auto
Adjustment function.
The Auto Adjustment function is used to set the HPos, VPos, Clock and Focus.

Press < or > to select the desired function.
Press <or >to change the settings of the current function.
5.MENU /ENTER:
Activate OSD menu when OSD is OFF or activate/de-activate adjustment function when
OSD is ON or ExitOSD menu whenin VolumeAdjust OSD status.
