- Desktop or notebook PCs with Ethernet or wireless network adapters
To connect the Router
1. Make sure all equipment - desktop or notebook PCs, and the cable or DSL
modem – is turned off, and the power adapter is not connected to the Router.
2. Connect the WAN port of the Router to your cable or DSL modem, Ethernet server
or hub by means of an appropriate RJ-45 cable.
3. Optional: Connect your Ethernet client PCs to the LAN ports through RJ-45 cable.
4. Connect the power adapter (5VDC) to the power jack of the Router, plug the power
cable into the mains outlet.
5. Turn on your PCs.
6. Insert Acer Wireless LAN 802.11g CD into your CD-ROM.

7. Click Acer WLAN 11g Broadband Router
8. Click Router Setup
The Logon dialog box appears, seen in FIGURE 1:

8. Type admin in the User Name box.
9. Type the password in the box.
Note - The default password is 1234. You can change the password on the Tools
page. For detailed instructions, see To Change the Administrative Password for
Your Router. Optional. To log on to the Administration Tool once for all, select the
check box of Save this password in your password list.
10. Click OK.
The Acer Router Administration Tool appears.
Note - The Administration Tool will time out after a period of idling, the Router
may ask you to log on again.
Before configuring your router, you need to set up the computers in your network for
TCP/IP networking, and collect relevant ISP information if necessary. Please refer to
the user’s guide on the Acer Installation and Manual CDROM for further instructions

Anschließen des Routers
1. Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Geräte - die Desktop- oder Notebook-PCs und das
Kabel- oder DSL-Modem - ausgeschaltet sind und das Netzteil nicht am Router
angeschlossen ist.
2. Verbinden Sie den WAN-Anschluss des Routers über ein geeignetes RJ-45-Kabel
mit Ihrem Kabel- oder DSL-Modem, Ethernet-Server oder -Hub.
3. Optional: Schließen Sie Ihre Ethernet-Client-PCs mit Hilfe von RJ-45-Kabeln an
die LAN-Anschlüsse an.
4. Verbinden Sie das Netzteil (5 V Gleichspannung) mit der Anschlussbuchse des
Routers und schließen Sie das Stromkabel an den Hauptausgang an.
5. Schalten Sie Ihre PCs ein.
6. Legen Sie die Acer Wireless LAN 802.11g-CD in Ihr CD-ROM-Laufwerk ein.

7. Klicken Sie im Menü auf 'Acer WLAN 11g Broadband Router'.
8. Klicken Sie auf 'Router Setup'.
Das Dialogfeld zur Anmeldung erscheint wie in ABBILDUNG 1 dargestellt:

9. Tippen Sie admin in das Eingabefeld 'User Name'.
10. Geben Sie das Passwort in das Feld ein.
Hinweis - Das voreingestellte Passwort ist 1234. Sie können das Passwort unter
dem Menüpunkt 'Tools' ändern. Zu detaillierten Anweisungen siehe To Change
the Administrative Password for Your Router.
Optional: Markieren Sie das Kontrollkästchen 'Save this password in your
password list', um das Passwort dauerhaft in dem Administrations-Tool zu
speichern.
11. Klicken Sie auf 'OK'.
Das Acer Router Administrations-Tool erscheint.
Hinweis - Wenn auf das Netzwerk eine Zeit lang kein Zugriff erfolgte, meldet Sie
das Administrations-Tool ab; der Router wird Sie in diesem Fall auffordern, sich
erneut anzumelden.
Bevor Sie Ihren Router konfigurieren, müssen Sie die Computer in Ihrem Netzwerk
für ein TCP/IP-Netzwerk einrichten und ggf. die relevanten ISP-Daten einholen.

'Acer Installation and Manual'.
