Introduction
This guide covers the AKF 30 and AKF 40
monitors, the only difference being cabinet
colour.
This colour monitor is suitable for use with
the Acorn range of 32 bit computers using
either the RISC OS or RISC IX operating
systems. These computers have analogue
RGB video output.
The drawings in the text are accompanied by
figures, e.g. 1 . These correspond to the
figures on the fold-out flap. This enables you
easily to find the corresponding buttons on
the monitor.

Service for you
The legal responsibility for meeting any
in~guarantee service needs for your monitor
rests with the dealer from whom you bought
it. If your dealer has no service facilities, he
can arrange for any work to be carried out by
a competent third party organisation.
For further information, please refer to the
guarantee card supplied with the product.
Connection to the mains
Your new monitor is designed to operate
from an a.c. mains supply of 220-240 volts,
50 Hz. Stabilising circuits ensure satisfactory
performance within normal supply variations.
WARNING: THIS APPARATUS MUST BE
EARTHED.
Important: The wires in the mains lead for
the apparatus are coloured in accordance
with the following code:
Green and yellow: Earth
Blue: Neutral
Brown: Live
If the socket outlet available is not suitable
for the plug supplied, either a different lead
should be obtained or the plug should be cut
off and the appropriate plug fitted and wired
1

as noted below. The moulded plug which
was cut off must be disposed of as it would
be a potential shock hazard if it were to be
plugged in with the cut off end of the mains
cord exposed. As the colours of the wires
may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your
plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the
plug which is marked by one of the
following: the letter E, the safety earth
symbol, the colour green, or the colour
green and yellow.
The wire which is coloured blue must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter N, or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter L, or coloured red.
Installation

the user.
First put the monitor leftside down. Pull up
the support then click it to either hook for
preferred viewing angle.
For Tilt and Swivel fitting instructions see

products.
• Keep the apparatus at a room

allowing enough space for air to circulate
when it is in use.
