IntelProWiDi(hereinafterrefertoas “ScreenBeamPro”).
The Receiverletsyou wirelesslystreamwhatson yourIntelWiDiorMiracast™compatible
devicetoyourHDTV,includingmovies,videos,photos,music,and more.TheReceiver
freesyoureyesfromatinyscreen.
The Receiverboastssomegreatfeatures,includingfastsetup,enhancedsecurityandIT
manageability, Managed Meetings(Gen 6ProWiDi), smoothvideo playback, full 1080pHD
support, ultra-lowdelay,Windows8.1optimization,versatilecompatibility,lowpower
consumption, and more.
WithScreenBeamPro,it'seasytomakepresentationsand impromptumeetingsinthe
conferenceroomabreeze,asusersdon'tneedtoscrambletofind therightHDMIorVGA
cableinordertoshareaspreadsheetorpresentationon the bigscreen.And the Managed
Meetingsfeatureallowsmeetingparticipantstointeractivelysharetheirownscreenson the
bigscreen.
Thisusermanualwill takeyou throughtheproceduresneededtoinstall,connectto,operate,
configure,and upgrade the receiver,and alsodescribeafewdifferentpossiblescenarios
about locatingfaults.

PartII. Installing theReceiver
ThischapterexplainshowtoconnecttheReceivertoan HDTV.Makesureyouhaveall the
contentsfromthe Receiver spackageavailablebeforestarting.
2.1.ConnectingtheReceivertoanHDTV
It isquiteeasyand fasttosetupthe Receiver.You can completethe connectioninjustone
minute.
Toconnect theReceivertoan HDTV:
1.Get the Receiver, ACpoweradapter, and HDMI cable fromthe Receiver spackage.
2.Plugone endofthe supplied HDMIcableintothe HDMIport(“VideoOut”or
“HDMI-OUT”)on the Receiver,and the otherend intoan availableHDMIporton the
HDTV.
3.Plugthe connectorofthepowercordtothe Receiver spowerinputportlabeled "5V
DC"or “POWER”, and plugthe poweradaptertoapoweroutlet.
When Steps1,2,and 3arecomplete,the hardwareshouldbeconnected asshownin
the figurebelow:
4.Turnon theHDTVandsetittodisplaythe inputfromthe correctHDMIport(the one you
haveplugged intoinStep2).
5.Verifythat the “Readytoconnect”screen appearson theHDTV.

ThischapterexplainshowtoconnectScreenBeamProforthe firsttimetothesourcedevice.
Thereareseveralsourcedeviceoptions:IntelWiDi (IntelProWiDi),Windows8.1,and
Windows10.
lForWindows8.1devices,pleaseproceed toSection 3.1. Connecting viaWindows
8.1;
lForWindows10 devices,pleaseproceed toSection3.2. Connecting viaWindows10;

3.1.ConnectingviaWindows8.1
ThissectionexplainshowtoconnectadevicerunningWindows8.1toScreenBeamPro.
1.Fromthe Windowsdesktop,gotothe Charms menuandselect Devices toopen the
Devices menu. You can alsousethe shortcut keys, Windows logo+ K.
2.Fromthe Devices menu, click Project.

3.Fromthe Project menu,select Add awireless display.Windowswillsearchfor
availabledevices.
Note: Ifyou arerunningWindows8.1and thescreensabovedo notappear, goto
http://www.actiontec.com/widi81 forthe latestsoftwareupdate.Or,youcanupdateyour
Windows8.1viathe WindowsUpdate application.
4.Selectyourreceiverfromthe devicelist.
5.APINentryboxisdisplayedonthe screenofyourWindows8.1device,andaPINcode
and hostname(QA-PC01 inthisexample)ofthe connectingdevicearedisplayedon
the HDTV.Typethe PINinthePINentryboxonyourdevice, and then click Next.

Note:YoushouldobtainthesecurityPINfromyournetworkadministratorifno PINis
displayed ontheconnecteddisplaydevice.
6.Yourdevicewill connect tothe receiver withinafewseconds.

3.2.ConnectingviaWindows10
ThissectionexplainshowtoconnectadevicerunningWindows10 toScreenBeamPro.
1.Press the shortcutkeys, Windows logo + K,on yourkeyboardtodisplaythe
wireless displayreceiverlist.
Note:Thereareotherwaystoopen the wireless displayreceiverlist:
lClick the Startbutton,and then select Settings > Devices > Connecteddevices >
Add adevice toopen the wireless displayreceiverlist.
lClick the Notification icon on the task barorpressthe shortcutkeys, Windows
logo + A,toopenthe Action Center,and thenselect Connect toopen the
wireless displayreceiverlist.
lPress the shortcutkeys, Windows logo + P,toopen the Project menu,and
then select Connecttoawireless display toopenthe wireless displayreceiver
list.

3.3.ConnectingviaIntel WiDi App (Gen4)
Thissection explainshowtoconnectadevicerunningIntel's WiDi application tothe
receiver.
Followthe procedurebelowtoconnectyourdevicetothe receiver:
1.Launchthe Intel Wireless Display application on thedevice.Tofind the application, go
to WindowsSearch on the deviceand searchfor “IntelWiDi”.
2.The IntelWiDi application scansforavailablereceiversautomatically.Selectyour
receiverand click Connect. (The “ConnectAutomatically”checkboxisoptional.)
Note: Ifyourreceiverisnot found, you canclick the Scan button toscanagain.
3.APINentryboxisdisplayed onthe screen ofthe WiDi device, and aPINcode and host
name(QA-PC01 inthisexample)of the connectingdevicearedisplayed on theHDTV.
TypethePINinthe PINentryboxon the WiDidevice, andthen click Connect.

Note:YoushouldobtainthesecurityPINfromyournetworkadministratorifno PINis
displayed ontheconnecteddisplaydevice.
4.Withinafewseconds, yourdevicewill connect tothereceiver.

5.A"Connection Successful"screen appearson the device'sscreen.Click Finished,
and the devicesscreen will bedisplayed on the HDTVinabout tenseconds.

3.4.ConnectingviaIntel Pro WiDiApp(Gen6)
ScreenBeamProsupportsManaged Meetings, whichisonlyavailablewithIntel®ProWiDi.
Tousethisfeature, ScreenBeamPromust havethe AGO featureenabled.
Note:
lTousethe Intel®ProWiDiManaged Meetingfeature,you mustinstall theIntelPro
WiDisoftwareon anIntel®Haswell orbettersystemwithIntel®Core™vPro™
processor.
lFordetailsaboutAGO settings,refertoSection 5.3.22. Settingup AutonomousGroup
Owner(AGO).
Followthe procedurebelowtoconnectyourdevicetoScreenBeamPro:
1.Launchthe Intel ProWiDi application on yourdevice.
2.The Intel ProWiDi application scansforavailablereceiversautomatically.Select your
receivertostart the connection procedure.
3.APINentryboxisdisplayed onthe screen ofthe WiDi device, and aPINcode and host
name(QA-PC01 inthisexample)of the connectingdevicearedisplayed on theHDTV.
