The AM1400 activity meter from ADE gives you a simple way to monitor your
health.
The activity meter has Bluetooth 4.0 data transfer functionality. Electromag-
netic energy may be released to provide the function as intended. Nearby radio-
frequency communication devices may adversely affect the effectiveness of the
activity meter.
Portable and mobile radio-frequency communication devices can influence
electrical devices. Electrical devices are subject to special EMC requirements and
must be operated as per these operating instructions.

You can use this
AM1400

to measure the number of your steps, the
distance you have covered and the number of calories consumed.
To use all the device’s capabilities, you must download and install the

The user can changes settings such as time and unit in the app and then load the
settings to the activity meter via Bluetooth. The data on the activity meter can also be
load to a Bluetooth 4.0-enabled device via Bluetooth. The user can then view the data
at any time.

The AM1400 must be charged via a USB connection (preferably on a
PC or laptop) before first use.

DJUSTING AND ATTACHING THE WRISTBAND
1. Measure the circumference of your wrist with a measuring tape.
2. Detach the half of the wristband that does not have a USB symbol from the device.
Bend the half of the wristband with the length markings backwards so that the clasp
retaining clips release, then remove the half of the wristband from the clasp.
Remember to add two extra segments of the wristband to your
measurement so that you have sufficient length to insert the wristband
into the clasp and to ensure that the activity meter is not too tight
around your wrist.
3. Select the correct length for the wristband and cut off the excess. Length meas-
urements are provided on the wristband to help you.

4. Connect the side of the wristband with the symbol to the device’s USB connect-
or.
Wear the activity meter like a wristwatch. Ensure that the side of
the wristband with the USB symbol is towards your body.
You can now start to use the device.

Mobile or portable devices with Bluetooth functionality as per the BLE Technical
Specifications and the Blood Pressure Profile (BLP) protocol from the international Blue-
tooth SIG organisation can receive your personal data via modern Bluetooth 4.0 tech-
nology.
The adeVital app is available from the App Store. You can
search for the app in the Store and install it on your iPhone.

ONITORING FOR ACTIVITY METERS
Displays the date for all recorded values
Steps, calorie consumption (kcal), distance (miles/km) and duration of activity
(hours/minutes)
If you wear the activity meter on your left wrist, the button on the activity meter
must face your arm. If you wear the activity meter on your right wrist, the button on
the activity meter must face your fingertips.

Simply install our specially developed app and connect your activity meter to your
mobile and portable devices. You will then be able to use the extensive evaluation op-
tions in the adeVital app.
The app to connect the activity meter is only available for iPod
touch (5th generation), iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPad 3,
iPad Air, iPad mini and newer versions.
Compatibility with Bluetooth 4.0 is required.

Activate Bluetooth and start the app.
Make sure that Bluetooth and the adeVital app are run-
ning so that you can connect the devices.

Open the adeVital app on your device and save your personal data.
Click top right on the plus symbol in the bar.
Click the +symbol under Settings.
Tap the Bluetooth symbol under “Add device”.
At the same time, turn on the AM1400 by briefly tapping the control button and hold it
down for approx. 10 seconds until the and symbols are displayed.

OW TO USE
After you have successfully connected the activity meter to your device and the
adeVital app is running, you can start to use your activity meter.
The measured data is automatically trans-
ferred to your Bluetooth 4.0-enabled device if
the connection is successful.

ATA DISPLAY
If the OLED display is switched off, press the button on the activity meter. If there is
enough battery power, the OLED display will show the screen that was displayed before
it switched off.
Example:
Before the activity meter switched off, the OLED display
showed the number of calories you had used. If you press the
control button now, the OLED display will display the number of
calories you have consumed.
If there is not enough battery power, the OLED display is off
and you press the control button on the activ-
ity meter, the OLED display will first show the
battery charge status.
Press the control button again. The OLED display will then
show the distance you have covered.
Press the control button again. The OLED display now
shows your number of steps.
Press the control button again. The OLED display will then
show the time.
If you do not press the button, the OLED display switches off after a few seconds.
Interference is possible near to devices with the symbol. The activity meter
may interfere with nearby electrical devices.
This product must be connected to a Bluetooth device at 2.4 GHz to transfer
data.
How can I reduce any possible interference?
1.
The distance between the activity meter and the Bluetooth device should be
as low as possible (between 1 m and 10 m). There should be no obstacles
blocking the Bluetooth connection between the activity meter and the Blue-
tooth device.
2.
Other electronic devices (particularly devices with Bluetooth trans-
fer/transmitter) must be kept at least 1 m away from the activity meter to
avoid interference

EVICE CARE
Please follow these instructions to care for your device:
Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe dust off the device.
Use a moist, soft cloth (dipped in water and rung out) to wipe dirt off the device. Then
use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the device dry.
Do not wash the device with water or immerse it in water.
Do not use detergent, abrasives or other chemicals to wipe dirt off the device. This
can cause discolouration or malfunction.
Do not disassemble the device. In the event of problems with the device, please con-
tact Waagen-Schmitt.

Waagen-Schmitt agrees to rectify any material or manufac-
turing defects by offering free repair or replacement, for a period of 3 years
from the purchase date. At the time of purchase, please get the retailer to fill in
and stamp the guarantee card. If you make a guarantee claim, please return
the activity meter to your retailer with the guarantee card and stating the rea-
sons for the claim.
