• Always remove the plug from the socket whenever the device is not in
use, when attaching accessory parts, cleaning the device or whenever
a disturbance occurs. Switch off the device before. Pull on the plug,
not on the cable.
• In order to protect children from the dangers of electrical appliances,
never leave them unsupervised with the device. Consequently, when
selecting the location for your device, do so in such a way that
children do not have access to the device. Take care to ensure that
the cable does not hang down.
• Test the device and the cable regularly for damage. If there is damage
of any kind, the device should not be used.
• Do not repair the device yourself but take this to nearest authorized
service station.
• Keep the device and the cable away from heat, direct sunlight,
moisture, sharp edges and such like.
• Never use the device unsupervised! Switch off the device whenever
you are not using it, even if this is only for a moment.
• Do not use the device outdoors.
• Under no circumstances must the device be placed in water or other
liquid or come into contact with such. Do not use the device with wet
or moist hands.
• Should the device become moist or wet, remove the mains plug from
the socket immediately. Do not reach into the water.
• Use the device only for the intended purpose.
• The baking surfaces get very hot. Touch the handles only.
• Put the unit down onto a heat-resistant surface or mat.
• In order to prevent heat from building up, do not put the unit directly
underneath a cupboard. Ensure that there is enough space all around.
• Beware of steam coming out when you open the baking section.
• Ariskofreandelectricalshockexistsinallelectricalappliancesand
may cause personal injury or death. Please follow all safety
instructions.
• If the supply cord is damaged. it must be replaced by the
manufactureoritsserviceagentorasimilarlyqualiedpersonin
order to avoid a hazard.
• Do not immerse the appliance in any liquid.
• The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the
appliance is operating.
• Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used with this
appliance.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a sage way and
understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8
years.
• The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an
external timer or separate remote-control system
• WARNING: This electrical appliance contains a heating function
surfaces, also different than the functional surfaces, can develop high
temperatures. Since temperatures are differently perceived by
different persons, this equipment shall be used with CAUTION. The
equipment shall be touch only at intended handles and gripping
surfaces and use heat protection like gloves or similar. Surfaces other
thanintendedgrippingsurfacesshallgetsufcientlytimetothecool
down before getting touched

hot during use.
POLARIZED PLUG
1. Your appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other).
2. To reduce the risk of injury this plug must be inserted into a properly
installed outlet.
3.Iftheplugdoesnottfullyintotheoutlet,reversetheplug.Ifitdoes
nott,pleaseconsultaqualiedelectrician.Donotattempttodefeat
this safety feature by modifying the plug in any way.
WARNING: Improper use of the power cord may result in electric shock.

PREPARATION FOR USE
AC OPERATION
Unwind the AC power cord and extend it to
its full length. Insert the AC plug of the cord
into any convenient 120V 60Hz household
outlet.

Please note that this unit is equipped with a polarized AC plug which has one
blade wider than the other. This is a safety feature to reduce the likelihood
ofelectricshock.ThispolarizedACplugwillonlytinapolarizedACoutlet.
Ifyoundthatyoucannotinsertthisplugintoyouroutlet,youmayhavean
obsolete non-polarized outlet. Please do not try to defeat this safety feature
byusinganon-polarizedadaptororbyllingthewiderbladetomakeittinto
youroutlet.Ifthisplugdoesnottintoyouroutlet,youshouldcontactaquali-
edlicensedelectriciantoreplaceyourobsoleteoutlet.
Starting-up the unit
• NON-STICK COATING
Lightlygreasethebakingsurfacesbeforetheunitisusedforthersttime.
Use the appliance for about 10 minutes with the cover closed (see “using
the unit”). Then wipe it down with a damp cloth.
• Pleasedonoteattherstpiecesoffoodyoumakewiththisunit.
Using the unit
1, Plug the power cord into 120V, 60Hz mains socket, then the red indicator
(POWER) will light up.
2, Keep the baking unit closed during the warming-up time. After the unit is
warmed up, the green indicator (READY) will light up and be ready to
cook.
3,Openthecoverandplacesomewafemix.Thenclosethelidgently.The
wafewillbefullybakedafter5to7minutes.
4,Openthelidandremovetheslicesofwafewithawoodenforkorsimilar
kitchen utensil. Do not use pointed or sharp objects to avoid damaging the
coating of the baking surfaces.
5,Thebakingsectionshouldalwaysbeclosedintheintervalsbetween
baking.
Cleaning & Maintenance
• Pull out the main plug and allow the unit to cool down.
• Brush away remains of crumbs from the baking surfaces.
• Clean the machine only with a slightly damp cloth.
• Do not use abrasive detergents.
