these operating instru tions arefully. They ontain important information
for safe use, for installation and for are of the applian e.
Please keep these operating instru tions for future referen e. Pass them on
to possible new owners of the applian e.
These operating instru tions are for use with several te hni ally ompara-
ble models with varying a essories. Please observe the notes whi h apply
to your model.
Notes whi h are important for your safety or for the proper fun tioning of
the applian e are stressed with a warning triangle and/or with signal words
(Warning!, Caution!, Attention!). Please observe the following arefully.
Supplementary information regarding operation and pra ti al appli ations
of the applian e appear after this symbol.
Tips and notes on erning e onomi al and environmentally sound use of
the applian e are marked with the loverleaf.
The operating instru tions ontain instru tions for the orre tion of possi-
ble malfun tions by the user in the se tion "What to do if ...". If these

This applian e was designed for household use and was manufa tured in
a ordan e with the appropriate standards. The ne essary measures in
a ordan e with applian e safety legislation regulations (GSG), a ident
prevention regulations for refrigeration applian es (VBG 20) and the regu-
lations of the German So iety of Ele tri al Engineers (VDE) were observed in
the manufa ture of this applian e.
The refrigerant ir uit has been he ked for leaks.
This applian e is in a ordan e with the following EU guidelines:

This applian e should only be installed at a lo ation where the ambient tem-
perature orresponds to the limate lassifi ation indi ated on the rating
plate, whi h is lo ated at the left on the inside of the applian e.
The following table shows whi h ambient temperature is orre t for ea h
limate lassifi ation:

Reversing the door
The side the door opens an be hanged from the right side (fa tory adjust-
ment) to the left side, if the installation site requires.
Warning! When hanging the side the door opens, the applian e must not
be onne ted to the mains. Remove plug from the mains beforehand.

Safety
The safety aspe ts of our refrigerators/freezers omply with a epted te h-
ni al standards and the German Applian e Safety Law. Nevertheless, we
onsider it our obligation to make you aware of the following safety infor-
mation:
Intended use
• The refrigerator is intended for use in the home. It is suitable for the oo-
ling, freezing and storing of frozen food, as well as for making i e. If the
applian e is used for purposes other than those intended or used in or-
re tly, no liability an be a epted by the manufa turer for any damage
that may be aused.
• Alterations or hanges to the freezer are not permitted for reasons of
safety.
• If you use the refrigerator in a ommer ial appli ation or for purposes
other than the ooling, freezing or frozen storage of foods, please obser-
ve all valid legal regulations for your appli ation.
Prior to initial start–up
• Che k the refrigerator for transport damage. Under no ir umstan e
should a damaged applian e be plugged in! In the event of damage, please
onta t the vendor.
Refrigerant
The refrigerant isobutane (R600a) is ontained within the refrigerant ir uit
of the applian e, a natural gas with a high level of environmental ompa-
tibility, whi h is nevertheless flammable.
• During transportation and installation of the applian e, be ertain that
none of the omponents of the refrigerant ir uit be ome damaged.
• If the refrigerant ir uit should be ome damaged:
– avoid open flames and sour es of ignition;
– thoroughly ventilate the room in whi h the applian e is situated.
Safety of children
• Pa kaging (e.g. wraps, polystyrene) an be dangerous for hildren. There is
a risk of suffo ation! Keep pa kaging material away from hildren!
• Please make old applian es unusable prior to disposal. Pull out the mains
plug, ut off the mains able, break or remove spring or bolt at hes, if fit-
ted. By doing this you ensure that hildren annot lo k themselves in the

Electrical Connection
Any ele tri al work required to install this applian e should be arried
out by a qualified ele tri ian or ompetent person.
WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
The manufacturer declines any liability should these safety measures not
be observed.
Before swit hing on, make sure the ele tri ity supply voltage is the same as
that indi ated on the applian e rating plate. The rating plate is inside, on the
left.
The applian e is supplied with a 13 amp plug fitted. In the event of having
to hange the fuse in the plug supplied, a 13 amp ASTA approved (BS 1362)
fuse must be used.
Important!
The wires in the mains lead are
oloured in a ordan e with the fol-
lowing ode:

As the olours of the wires in the
mains lead of this applian e may not
orrespond with the oloured mark-
ings identifying the terminals in your
plug, pro eed as follows:
1. The wire oloured green and yellow must be onne ted to the terminal
marked with the letter “E” or by the earth symbol or oloured green and yel-
low.
2. The wire oloured blue must be onne ted to the terminal marked “N” or
oloured bla k.
3. The wire oloured brown must be onne ted to the terminal marked “L” or
oloured red.
4. Upon ompletion there must be no ut, or stray strands of wire present and
the ord lamp must be se ure over the outer sheath.
Warning! A ut-off plug inserted into a 13 amp so ket is a serious safety
(sho k) hazard. Ensure that the ut-off plug is disposed of safely.

other dangerous situations.
• Often hildren annot re ognise the hazards present in household
applian es. It is therefore important that you ensure adequate supervision
and never let hildren play with the applian e!
Daily Operation
• Containers with flammable gases or liquids an leak at low temperatures.
There is a risk of an explosion! Do not store any ontainers with flamma-
ble materials su h as, for example, spray ans, fire extinguisher refill ar-
tridges et in the refrigerator/freezer.
• Bottles and ans must not be pla ed in the freezer ompartment. They an
burst when the ontents freeze, high arbonate ontent drinks an even
explode! Never store lemonade, jui es, beer, wine, sparkling wine et . in
the freezer ompartment. Ex eption: high al ohol ontent spirits an be
stored in the freezer ompartment.
• Do not put i e reams or i e ubes in the mouth immediately after remo-
val from the freezer ompartment. Very old i e an freeze to the lips or
tongue and ause injury.
• Do not tou h frozen food with wet hands. Your hands ould freeze to the
food.
• Do not operate any ele tri al applian es in the refrigerator/freezer (e.g.
ele tri i e ream makers, mixers et .).
• Before leaning the applian e, always swit h off the applian e and unplug
it, or pull the house fuse or swit h off the ir uit breaker.
• When unplugging always pull the plug from the mains so ket, do not pull
on the able.
In case of malfunction
• If the a malfun tion o urs on the applian e, please look first in the "What
to do if ..." se tion of these instru tions. If the information given there
does not help, please do not perform any further repairs yourself.
• Refrigerators/freezers may only be repaired by qualified servi e engineers.
Improper repairs an give rise to signifi ant hazards. If your applian e
needs repairing, please onta t your lo al Servi e For e Centre or our
Customer Servi e.

GU R NTEE CONDITIONS
Standard guarantee conditions
We, AEG, undertake that if within 12 months of the date of the pur hase this AEG applian-
e or any part thereof is proved to be defe tive by reason only of faulty workmanship or
materials, we will, at our dis retion repair or repla e the same FREE OF CHARGE for labour,
materials or arriage on ondition that:
· The applian e has been orre tly installed and used only on the ele tri ity or gas supply sta-
ted on the rating plate.
· The applian e has been used for normal domesti purposes only, and in a ordan e with
the manufa turer's operating and maintenan e instru tions.
· The applian e has not been servi ed, maintained, repaired, taken apart or tampered with by
any person not authorised by us.
· All servi e work under this guarantee must be undertaken by a Servi e For e Centre. Any
applian e or defe tive part repla ed shall be ome the Company's property.
· This guarantee is in addition to your statutory and other legal rights.
· Home visits are made between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Visits may be avai-
lable outside these hours in whi h ase a premium will be harged.
Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover:
· Damage or alls resulting from transportation, improper use or negle t, the repla ement of
any light bulbs or removable parts of glass or plasti .
· Costs in urred for alls to put right an applian e whi h is improperly installed or alls to
applian es outside the United Kingdom.
· Applian es found to be in use within a ommer ial environment, plus those whi h are
subje t to rental agreements.
· Produ ts of AEG manufa ture whi h are not marketed by AEG.
European Guarantee
If you should move to another ountry within Europe then your guarantee moves with you
to your new home subje t to the following qualifi ations:
· The guarantee starts from the date you first pur hased your produ t.
· The guarantee is for the same period and to the same extent for labour and parts as exists
in the new ountry of use for this brand or range of produ ts.
· This guarantee relates to you and annot be transferred to another user.
· Your new home is within the European Community (EC) or European Free Trade Area.
· The produ t is installed and used in a ordan e with our instru tions and is only used dome-
sti ally, i.e. a normal household.
· The produ t is installed taking into a ount regulations in your new ountry.

them details of your new home. They will then ensure that the lo al Servi e Organisation is
aware of your move and able to look after you and your applian es.

Disposal
ppliance Packaging Information
All materials are environmentally sound! They an be dumped or burned at
an in inerating plant without danger!
About the materials: The plasti s an be re y led and are identified as fol-
lows:
>PE< for polyethylene, e.g. the outer overing and the bags in the interior.
>PS< for polystyrene foam, e.g. the pads, whi h are all free of hlorofluo-
ro arbon.
The arton parts are made from re y led paper and should be disposed of
at a waste-paper re y ling olle tion lo ation.
Disposal of old ppliances
For environmental reasons, refrigeration applian es must be disposed of
properly. This applies to your old applian e, and - at the end of its servi e
life - for your new applian e as well.
Warning! Before disposing of old applian es make them inoperable. Remo-
ve plug from mains, sever the power able, remove or destroy any snap or
lat h losures. This eliminates the danger that playing hildren lo k them-
selves into the applian e (danger of suffo ation!) or pla e themselves into
other life-endangering situations.
Disposal:
• The applian e may not be disposed of with domesti waste or bulky refu-
se.
• The refrigerant ir uit, espe ially the heat ex hanger at the ba k of the
applian e, may not be damaged.
• The symbol on the produ t or on its pa kaging indi ates that this
produ t may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be han-
ded over to the appli able olle tion point for the re y ling of ele tri al
and ele troni equipment. By ensuring this produ t is disposed of orre -
tly, you will help prevent potential negative onsequen es for the envi-
ronment and human health, whi h ould otherwise be aused by inap-
propriate waste handling of this produ t. For more detailed information
about re y ling of this produ t, please onta t your lo al ity offi e, your
household waste disposal servi e or the shop where you pur hased the
produ t.
Remove transport safeguard
The applian e and the interior fittings are prote ted for transport.
• Pull off the adhesive tape on the left and right side of the door.
• Remove all adhesive tape and pa king pie es from the interior of the
applian e.

Temperature setting buttons
The temperature is adjusted using the “C“ and “E“ buttons. These buttons are
onne ted to the temperature display.
• The temperature display is swit hed over from the display of the ACTUAL
temperature (Temperature display is illuminated) to the display of the DESI-
RED temperature (Temperature display flashes) by pressing one of the two
buttons, “C“ or “E“.
• Ea h time one of the two buttons is pressed again the DESIRED temperatu-
re is adjusted by 1 °C. The DESIRED temperature must be rea hed within 24
hours.
If neither button is pressed, the temperature display automati ally swit hes
ba k after a short period (approx. 5 se .) to the display of the ACTUAL tem-
perature.
DESIRED temperature means:
The temperature that has been sele ted for inside the freezer. The DESIRED
temperature is indi ated by flashing numbers.

Malfunction Possible Cause Remedy

ACTUAL temperature means:
The temperature display indi ates the urrent temperature inside the freezer.
The ACTUAL temperature is indi ated with illuminated numbers.
Temperature display
The temperature display an indi ate several pie es of information.
• During normal operation, the temperature urrently present in the freezer
(ACTUAL temperature) is displayed.
• When the temperature is being adjusted a flashing display indi ates the
freezer temperature urrently set (DESIRED temperature).
Starting Up - Setting the Temperature
1. Plug the mains plug into the mains so ket.
2. If the display is OFF, press ON/OFF button. The green mains pilot indi ator
illuminates. The alarm light flashes and the buzzer sounds.
3. Press the “I” button to stop the buzzer, the light still flashes sin e the tem-
peratur is rea hed.
4. Press either the “C“ or “E“ button. The temperature display swit hes over and
the DESIRED temperature urrently set flashes on the temperature display.
5. Set the required temperature by pressing the “C“ or “E“ buttons (see se tion
"Temperature setting buttons"). The temperature display will immediately
show the hanged setting. Ea h time the button is pressed the temperatu-
re is adjusted by 1 °C.
From a food safety point of view -18 °C should be onsidered suffi iently
old for storing food in the freezer.
Ice pack
There are two i e pa ks in one drawer of the freezer.
In the event of a power failure or malfun tion, the i e pa k will lengthen
the amount of time it takes for the frozen food to be ome too warm by
several hours. The i e pa k an only fulfil this task optimally if it is pla ed in
the uppermost drawer, at the front, above the frozen food. You an use the
i e pa k for ooling old bags.
FROSTM TIC
The FROSTMATIC fun tion a elerates the freezing of fresh food and, at the
same time, prote ts foodstuffs already stored from undesirable warming.
1. The FROSTMATIC fun tion is swit hed on by pressing the FROSTMATIC but-
ton. The yellow light illuminates.
If the FROSTMATIC fun tion is not ended manually, the applian e ele tro-

What to do if ...
Correcting Malfunctions
A malfun tion may be aused by only a minor fault that you an re tify
yourself using the following instru tions. Do not perform any other work on
the applian e if the following information does not provide assistan e in
your spe ifi ase.
Warning! Repairs to refrigerators/freezers may only be performed by quali-
fied servi e engineers. Improper repairs an give rise to signifi ant hazards
for the user. If your applian e needs repairing, please onta t your spe iali-
st dealer or our Customer Servi e.

ni s swit h off the FROSTMATIC fun tion after 52 hours. The yellow light
goes out.
2. The FROSTMATIC fun tion an be ended manually at any time by pressing
the FROSTMATIC button again. The yellow light goes out.
larm reset button
In the event of an abnormal temperature rise inside the freezer (e.g. power
ut) warning light (H) will start to flash and a buzzer will sound.
After the temperature has returned to normal, the warning light (H) will
ontinue to flash, although the buzzer has stopped.
When the alarm button is pressed, the warmest temperature rea hed in the
ompartment flashes on the indi ator (max. 5 se onds). To stop the buzzer
push the button “I”.
Switching the ppliance off
To swit h off, hold down the ON/OFF button for approx. 3 se onds. This will
result in a ountdown from "3" to "1" taking pla e in the temperature
display. On rea hing "1" the fridge will swit h off. The temperature display
will go off.
Note:
The applian e annot be swit hed on or off if unplugged, or if there is no
power being supplied to it. Following onne tion to the mains power sup-
ply, the applian e returns to the same operating state as before the inter-
ruption of main power.
If the applian e is not going to be used for an extended period:
1. Swit h off the applian e, holding down the ON/OFF button until the display
goes off (see above).
2. Remove the mains plug or swit h off or turn out the ir uit breaker or fuse.
3. Defrost the freezer ompartment and lean the applian e thoroughly (see
se tion: “Cleaning and Maintenan e”).
4. Finally, leave the doors open to avoid a build up of odours.
Freezing and storing frozen food
You an use your freezer for freezing fresh food.
Important!
• The temperature in the freezer ompartment must be –18 °C or older
before freezing food.

Energy Saving Tips
• Do not install the applian e near ookers, radiators or other sour es of
warmth. High ambient temperatures ause longer, more frequent opera-
tion of the ompressor.
• Ensure suffi ient air ir ulation and exhaust at the applian e base and at
the ba k wall of the applian e. Never over air vent openings.
• Do not pla e warm foods into the applian e. Allow warm foods to ool
first.
• Only leave door open as long as ne essary.
• Do not set temperature any older than ne essary.
• Put frozen food in the fridge to defrost. The old in the frozen food will
then be used to ool the fridge.
• Always keep the heat emitting ondenser, the metal grille on the rear wall
of your applian e, lean.

In the event of an abnormal temperature rise inside the freezer (e.g. power
ut) warning light (H) will start to flash and a buzzer will sound.
After the temperature has returned to normal, the warning light (H) will
ontinue to flash, although the buzzer has stopped.
When the alarm button is pressed, the warmest temperature rea hed in the
ompartment flashes on the indi ator (max. 5 se onds). To stop the buzzer
push the button “I”.
Switching the ppliance off
To swit h off, hold down the ON/OFF button for approx. 3 se onds. This will
result in a ountdown from "3" to "1" taking pla e in the temperature
display. On rea hing "1" the fridge will swit h off. The temperature display
will go off.
Note:
The applian e annot be swit hed on or off if unplugged, or if there is no
power being supplied to it. Following onne tion to the mains power sup-
ply, the applian e returns to the same operating state as before the inter-
ruption of main power.
If the applian e is not going to be used for an extended period:
1. Swit h off the applian e, holding down the ON/OFF button until the display
goes off (see above).
2. Remove the mains plug or swit h off or turn out the ir uit breaker or fuse.
3. Defrost the freezer ompartment and lean the applian e thoroughly (see
se tion: “Cleaning and Maintenan e”).
4. Finally, leave the doors open to avoid a build up of odours.
Freezing and storing frozen food

Energy Saving Tips
• Do not install the applian e near ookers, radiators or other sour es of
warmth. High ambient temperatures ause longer, more frequent opera-
tion of the ompressor.
• Ensure suffi ient air ir ulation and exhaust at the applian e base and at
the ba k wall of the applian e. Never over air vent openings.
• Do not pla e warm foods into the applian e. Allow warm foods to ool

ACTUAL temperature means:
The temperature display indi ates the urrent temperature inside the freezer.
The ACTUAL temperature is indi ated with illuminated numbers.
Temperature display
The temperature display an indi ate several pie es of information.
• During normal operation, the temperature urrently present in the freezer
(ACTUAL temperature) is displayed.
• When the temperature is being adjusted a flashing display indi ates the
freezer temperature urrently set (DESIRED temperature).
Starting Up - Setting the Temperature
1. Plug the mains plug into the mains so ket.
2. If the display is OFF, press ON/OFF button. The green mains pilot indi ator
illuminates. The alarm light flashes and the buzzer sounds.
3. Press the “I” button to stop the buzzer, the light still flashes sin e the tem-
peratur is rea hed.
4. Press either the “C“ or “E“ button. The temperature display swit hes over and
the DESIRED temperature urrently set flashes on the temperature display.
5. Set the required temperature by pressing the “C“ or “E“ buttons (see se tion
"Temperature setting buttons"). The temperature display will immediately
show the hanged setting. Ea h time the button is pressed the temperatu-
re is adjusted by 1 °C.
From a food safety point of view -18 °C should be onsidered suffi iently
old for storing food in the freezer.
Ice pack
There are two i e pa ks in one drawer of the freezer.
In the event of a power failure or malfun tion, the i e pa k will lengthen
the amount of time it takes for the frozen food to be ome too warm by
several hours. The i e pa k an only fulfil this task optimally if it is pla ed in
the uppermost drawer, at the front, above the frozen food. You an use the
i e pa k for ooling old bags.
FROSTM TIC
The FROSTMATIC fun tion a elerates the freezing of fresh food and, at the
same time, prote ts foodstuffs already stored from undesirable warming.
1. The FROSTMATIC fun tion is swit hed on by pressing the FROSTMATIC but-
ton. The yellow light illuminates.

Temperature setting buttons
The temperature is adjusted using the “C“ and “E“ buttons. These buttons are
onne ted to the temperature display.
• The temperature display is swit hed over from the display of the ACTUAL
temperature (Temperature display is illuminated) to the display of the DESI-
RED temperature (Temperature display flashes) by pressing one of the two
buttons, “C“ or “E“.
• Ea h time one of the two buttons is pressed again the DESIRED temperatu-
re is adjusted by 1 °C. The DESIRED temperature must be rea hed within 24
hours.
If neither button is pressed, the temperature display automati ally swit hes
ba k after a short period (approx. 5 se .) to the display of the ACTUAL tem-
perature.
DESIRED temperature means:
The temperature that has been sele ted for inside the freezer. The DESIRED

Standard guarantee conditions
We, AEG, undertake that if within 12 months of the date of the pur hase this AEG applian-
e or any part thereof is proved to be defe tive by reason only of faulty workmanship or
materials, we will, at our dis retion repair or repla e the same FREE OF CHARGE for labour,
materials or arriage on ondition that:
· The applian e has been orre tly installed and used only on the ele tri ity or gas supply sta-
ted on the rating plate.
· The applian e has been used for normal domesti purposes only, and in a ordan e with
the manufa turer's operating and maintenan e instru tions.
· The applian e has not been servi ed, maintained, repaired, taken apart or tampered with by
any person not authorised by us.
· All servi e work under this guarantee must be undertaken by a Servi e For e Centre. Any
applian e or defe tive part repla ed shall be ome the Company's property.
· This guarantee is in addition to your statutory and other legal rights.
· Home visits are made between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Visits may be avai-

Refrigerant
The refrigerant isobutane (R600a) is ontained within the refrigerant ir uit
of the applian e, a natural gas with a high level of environmental ompa-
tibility, whi h is nevertheless flammable.
• During transportation and installation of the applian e, be ertain that
none of the omponents of the refrigerant ir uit be ome damaged.
• If the refrigerant ir uit should be ome damaged:
– avoid open flames and sour es of ignition;
– thoroughly ventilate the room in whi h the applian e is situated.
Safety of children
• Pa kaging (e.g. wraps, polystyrene) an be dangerous for hildren. There is
a risk of suffo ation! Keep pa kaging material away from hildren!
• Please make old applian es unusable prior to disposal. Pull out the mains
plug, ut off the mains able, break or remove spring or bolt at hes, if fit-
ted. By doing this you ensure that hildren annot lo k themselves in the

Electrical Connection
Any ele tri al work required to install this applian e should be arried
out by a qualified ele tri ian or ompetent person.
WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
The manufacturer declines any liability should these safety measures not
be observed.
Before swit hing on, make sure the ele tri ity supply voltage is the same as
that indi ated on the applian e rating plate. The rating plate is inside, on the
left.
The applian e is supplied with a 13 amp plug fitted. In the event of having
to hange the fuse in the plug supplied, a 13 amp ASTA approved (BS 1362)
fuse must be used.
Important!
The wires in the mains lead are
oloured in a ordan e with the fol-
lowing ode:
Green and Yellow Earth
Blue Neutral
Brown Live
As the olours of the wires in the
mains lead of this applian e may not
orrespond with the oloured mark-
ings identifying the terminals in your
plug, pro eed as follows:
1. The wire oloured green and yellow must be onne ted to the terminal
marked with the letter “E” or by the earth symbol or oloured green and yel-
low.
2. The wire oloured blue must be onne ted to the terminal marked “N” or
oloured bla k.
3. The wire oloured brown must be onne ted to the terminal marked “L” or
oloured red.
4. Upon ompletion there must be no ut, or stray strands of wire present and
the ord lamp must be se ure over the outer sheath.
Warning! A ut-off plug inserted into a 13 amp so ket is a serious safety
(sho k) hazard. Ensure that the ut-off plug is disposed of safely.

The side the door opens an be hanged from the right side (fa tory adjust-
ment) to the left side, if the installation site requires.
Warning! When hanging the side the door opens, the applian e must not
be onne ted to the mains. Remove plug from the mains beforehand.
