models with varying accessories. Please observe the notes which apply to
your model.

Regulations, Standards, Guidelines
This appliance was designed or household use and was manu actured in
accordance with the appropriate standards. The necessary measures in
accordance with appliance sa ety legislation regulations (GSG), accident
prevention regulations or re rigeration appliances (VBG 20) and the regu-
lations o the German Society o Electrical Engineers (VDE) were observed in
the manu acture o this appliance.

Safety
Please read this instruction book be ore using the appliance and retain or
uture re erence. These warnings are provided in the interests o your sa e-
ty, ensure you understand them ully be ore using the appliance.
Intended use
• The appliance is intended or use in the home. It is suitable or the coo-
ling, reezing and storing o rozen ood, as well as or making ice. I the
appliance is used or purposes other than those intended or used incor-
rectly, no liability can be accepted by the manu acturer or any damage
that may be caused.
• Alterations or changes to the appliance are not permitted or reasons o
sa ety.
Prior to initial start–up
• Check the appliance or transport damage. Under no circumstance should
a damaged appliance be plugged in! In the event o damage, please con-
tact your retailer.
Refrigerant
The re rigerant isobutane (R600a) is contained within the re rigerant circuit
o the appliance, a natural gas with a high level o environmental compat-
ibility, which is nevertheless lammable.
• During transportation and installation o the appliance, be certain that
none o the components o the re rigerant circuit become damaged.
• I the re rigerant circuit should become damaged:
– avoid open lames and sources o ignition;
– thoroughly ventilate the room in which the appliance is situated.
Safety of children
• Keep packaging material away rom children.
• Please make old appliances unusable prior to disposal. Pull out the mains
plug, cut o the mains cable and remove any locks or catches, to prevent
young children being trapped inside.
• Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play with the prod-
uct.

Open the appliance door and the ur-
niture door at 90°. Insert the small
square (B) into guide (A). Put togeth-
er the appliance door and the urni-
ture door and mark the holes as indi-
cated in the igure. Remove the
squares and drill holes with ø 2 mm
at 8 mm rom the outer edge o the
door. Place the small square on the
guide again and ix it with the screws
supplied.

Place guide (A) on the inside part o
the urniture door, in the upper and
lower positions as shown in the ig-
ure and mark the position o external
holes. Having drilled the holes, ix the
guide with the screws supplied.

Daily Operation
• Ice cream or ice cubes can cause “ rost/ reezer” burns i consumed strai-
ght rom the reezer.
• Do not operate any electrical appliances in the re rigerator/ reezer (e.g.
electric ice cream makers, mixers etc.).
• Be ore cleaning the appliance, always switch o the appliance and
disconnect rom the electricity supply.
• When unplugging always pull the plug rom the mains socket, do not pull
on the cable.
Service
• Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the appliance your-
sel . Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or
serious mal unctioning. Contact your local AEG Service Force Centre.
Disposal
Appliance packaging information
All materials are environmentally sound.
The plastics can be recycled and are identi ied as ollows:
>PE< or polyethylene, e.g. the outer covering and the bags in the interior.
>PS< or polystyrene oam, e.g. the pads, which are all ree o chloro luo-
rocarbon.
The carton parts are made rom recycled paper and should be disposed o
at a waste-paper recycling collection location.

Open the door and push the appliance
against the side o the kitchen unit op-
posite to that o appliance hinges.
Fasten the appliance with 4 screws
provided in the kit included with the
appliance. Snap ventilation grille (C)
and hinge cover (D) into position.

Remove Transport Packaging
The appliance and the interior ittings are protected or transport.
• Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces rom the interior o the
appliance.
Disposal of Old appliances
For environmental reasons, re rigeration appliances must be disposed o
properly. This applies to your old appliance, and - at the end o its service
li e - to your new appliance as well.
Warning! Be ore disposing o old appliances make them inoperable.
Remove plug rom mains, sever the power cable, remove or destroy any
snap or latch closures, to prevent small children being trapped inside.
• Use an authorised disposal site.
Contact your Local Council or Environmental Health O ice to see i there
are acilities in your area to recycle the appliance.

Your appliance is equipped with shel
retainers that make it possible to
secure the shelves during transporta-
tion.
To remove them proceed as ollows:
Raise the shel rom the back, push it
in the direction o the arrow until it
is reed and remove the retainers.

1. Unscrew the upper pin and remove
the spacer
2. Remove the upper door
3. Unscrew the middle hinge and the
plugs and re it them on the opposite
side
4. Re it the upper door, the upper pin
and the spacer on the opposite side
5. Unscrew the lower pin and remove
the spacer and re it them on the
opposite side.

Starting Up and Temperature Regulation
Wash the inside o the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar-
bonate o soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre o water). Do not use soap or deter-
gent as the smell may linger. Dry the appliance thoroughly.
• When the re rigerator compartment door is opened, the internal lighting
is switched on. The temperature control knob is located on the right hand
side o the re rigerator compartment.
Setting “0”: O .
Setting “1”: Highest temperature, (warmest setting).
Setting “6” (end-stop) : Lowest temperature, (coldest setting).
The exact setting should be chosen keeping in mind that the temperature
inside the re rigerator depends on:
-the quantity o ood stored
-how o ten the door is opened
The temperatures in the re rigerator compartment and reezer compart-
ment cannot be independently regulated.
I you want to reeze resh ood rapidly, select setting “6”, ensuring that the
temperature in the re rigerator compartment does not drop below 0°C. You
should reset the temperature control knob to setting “3” or “4”, i this does
occur.
As soon as the resh ood placed in the reezer has rozen, return the tem-
perature control knob to “3” or “4”.
Important!
High ambient temperatures (e.g. on hot summer days) and a cold setting on
the temperature regulator (position"5" to "6") can cause the compressor to
run continuously.
I this happens, turn the temperature regulator back to a warmer setting
(position "3" to "4"). At this setting the compressor will be switched on and
o as usual and automatic de rosting recommenced.

Positioning
This appliance should only be installed at a location where the ambient
temperature corresponds to the climate classi ication indicated on the rat-
ing plate, which is located on the inside le t o the appliance.
The ollowing table shows which ambient temperature is correct or each
climate classi ication.

Reversing the door
The side the door opens can be changed rom the right side ( actory adjust-
ment) to the le t side, i the installation site requires.
Warning! When changing the side the door opens, the appliance must not
be connected to the mains. Remove plug rom the mains be orehand.
The appliance should be located in a dry atmosphere, out o direct sunlight
and away rom continuous heat and extreme temperature, e.g. not next to
a boiler or radiator, or in a very cold room e.g. an outhouse. I these tem-
peratures are exceeded i.e. warmer or colder, then the appliance may not
operate correctly.

Interior Accessories
Storage Shelves
The glass shel above the ruit and
vegetable compartment should
always remain in position, to ensure
ruit and vegetables stay resh longer.
The remaining storage shelves can be
adjusted to various heights:
Pull the storage shel orward until it
can be tipped up or down and remo-
ved.
To insert at a di erent height use the same procedure in reverse.
Adjustment or tall goods:
Remove the ront hal o the two-part vario glass storage shel and insert it
at a di erent level. Space is thus gained or storage o tall goods on the
underlying storage shel .
Variable Inner Door
The door compartments can be pulled up and removed, and inserted at
other positions as needed.

Variable Storage Box
Some models are equipped with a
variable storage box which is itted
under a door shel compartment and
can be slid sideways.
The box can be inserted under any
door shel compartment.
1. To change the position o the stora-
ge box; li t the shel compartment
with the box upwards and out o the
holders in the door and remove the
retaining bracket out o the guide
under the shel compartment.
2. Reverse the above operation to insert
the shel at a di erent height.

Installation
Electrical Connection
Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried
out by a quali ied electrician or competent person.
WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
The manufacturer declines any liability should these safety measures not
be observed.
Be ore switching on, make sure the electricity supply voltage is the same as
that indicated on the appliance rating plate. The rating plate is inside, on the
le t.
The appliance is supplied with a 13 amp plug itted. In the event o having
to change the use in the plug supplied, a 13 amp ASTA approved (BS 1362)
use must be used.
Important!
The wires in the mains lead are
coloured in accordance with the ol-
lowing code:
Green and Yellow Earth
Blue Neutral
Brown Live
As the colours o the wires in the
mains lead o this appliance may not
correspond with the coloured mark-
ings identi ying the terminals in your
plug, proceed as ollows:
1. The wire coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal
marked with the letter “E” or by the earth symbol or coloured green and yel-
low.
2. The wire coloured blue must be connected to the terminal marked “N” or
coloured black.
3. The wire coloured brown must be connected to the terminal marked “L” or
coloured red.
4. Upon completion there must be no cut, or stray strands o wire present and
the cord clamp must be secure over the outer sheath.
Warning! A cut-o plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious sa ety
(shock) hazard. Ensure that the cut-o plug is disposed o sa ely.

Fresh Food Refrigeration
To obtain the best per ormance:
• do not store warm ood or evaporating liquid in the re rigeator
• do cover or wrap the ood, particularly i it has a strong lavour.
• position ood so that air can circuiate reely round it.
Use ul hints:
Meat (all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shel above
the vegetable drawer(s)
For safety, store in this way only one or two days at the most.
Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc: these should be covered and may be placed
on any shel .
Fruit and vegetables: these should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the
special drawer(s) provided.
Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or
wapped in aluminium oil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos-
sible.
Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle
rack on the door.
Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not in airtight containers, must
not be kept in the refrigerator.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS
Standard guarantee conditions
We, AEG, undertake that i within 12 months o the date o the purchase this AEG applian-
ce or any part thereo is proved to be de ective by reason only o aulty workmanship or
materials, we will, at our discretion repair or replace the same FREE OF CHARGE or labour,
materials or carriage on condition that:
· The appliance has been correctly installed and used only on the electricity or gas supply sta-
ted on the rating plate.
· The appliance has been used or normal domestic purposes only, and in accordance with
the manu acturer's operating and maintenance instructions.
· The appliance has not been serviced, maintained, repaired, taken apart or tampered with by
any person not authorised by us.
· All service work under this guarantee must be undertaken by a Service Force Centre. Any
appliance or de ective part replaced shall become the Company's property.
· This guarantee is in addition to your statutory and other legal rights.
· Home visits are made between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Visits may be avai-
lable outside these hours in which case a premium will be charged.
Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover:
· Damage or calls resulting rom transportation, improper use or neglect, the replacement o
any light bulbs or removable parts o glass or plastic.
· Costs incurred or calls to put right an appliance which is improperly installed or calls to
appliances outside the United Kingdom.
· Appliances ound to be in use within a commercial environment, plus those which are
subject to rental agreements.
· Products o AEG manu acture which are not marketed by AEG.
European Guarantee
I you should move to another country within Europe then your guarantee moves with you
to your new home subject to the ollowing quali ications:
· The guarantee starts rom the date you irst purchased your product.
· The guarantee is or the same period and to the same extent or labour and parts as exists
in the new country o use or this brand or range o products.
· This guarantee relates to you and cannot be trans erred to another user.
· Your new home is within the European Community (EC) or European Free Trade Area.
· The product is installed and used in accordance with our instructions and is only used dome-
stically, i.e. a normal household.
· The product is installed taking into account regulations in your new country.
Be ore you move please contact your nearest Customer Care centre, listed below, to give
them details o your new home. They will then ensure that the local Service Organisation is
aware o your move and able to look a ter you and your appliances.
