• Do not load the output terminals above the specified current limits.

• Observe all markings on the device before connecting any wiring to the device.
• Turn off the device and application system power before connecting any wiring to the IO terminals.
• Do no operate the device in the presence of flammable gases or fumes.
• Do no install substitute parts or perform any unauthorized modification to the device.
• Do not operate the device with the removable cover detached or loosened.
• Before removing the device cover, always disconnect the power cable and any external circuit.
CAUTION
• Applying excessive voltage or overloading the device will cause irreversible damage to the circuitry.
• Use the device with the cables provided.
• Always connect to a USB device that will limit the output current to the maximum rated current of this equipment.

The CE mark shows that the product complies with all the relevant Euro-

ICES-001.
The CSA mark is a registered trademark of the Canadian Standards Associ-
ation. A CSA mark with the indicators “C” and “US” means that the prod-
uct is certified for both the U.S. and Canadian markets, to the applicable

The UL Mark is a registered trademark of Underwriters Laboratories Inc.
UL listing mark with the indicators "C" and "US indicates the product com-
pliance with both Canadian and U.S. requirements.
The C-tick mark is a registered trademark of the Spectrum Management
Agency of Australia. This signifies compliance with the Australian EMC
Frame work regulations under the terms of the Radio Communications Act
of 1992.
This product complies with the WEEE Directive (2002/96/EC) marking
requirement. The affixed product label indicates that you must not discard
this electrical/electronic product in domestic household waste.

Introduction to the Agilent U2100A Series Data Acquisition
Devices
Agilent U2100A Series data acquisition (DAQ) is a portable USB Digital
IO that is affordable and delivers reliable data acquisition solution for
digital signals. It is ideal for a broad variety of applications in both
industrial and scientific environments. There are 3 models featuredin the
Agilent U2100A Series DAQ: U2121A, U2122A and U2123A.
This quick start guide includes information of the Agilent U2100A series
data acquisition (DAQ)’s product specifications and overview. This guide
also covers the software and hardware driver installation guidelines, and
how to get started with the Agilent U2121 Software.

Introduction to the Agilent U2121 Software
The Agilent DIO Diagnostics is a software utility that helps you to quickly
connect and configure your Agilent U2100A Series DAQ, verify operation,
and troubleshoot connectivity problems.
You can use Agilent DIO Diagnostics to:
•Discover, identify, and verify communication with the U2100A Series
DAQ connected to your PC or to your local area network.
•Communicate interactively with the U2100A Series DAQ.
•Set up non- volatile settings for the U2100A Series DAQ.
The Agilent U2121 Software Start-Up
If you are using the U2100A Series DAQ with the Agilent U2121 Software,
follow the step- by- step instructions as shown in the following flowchart.
NOTE
•If you do not wish to specifically use the U2100A Series DAQ with the Agilent U2121
software, and use the DAQ devices with Agilent VEE, LabVIEW or Microsoft Visual Studio
only, you can skip steps D(ii) and F in the following flowchart.
•You need to install IVI-COM driver before using the U2100A Series DAQ with Agilent VEE,
LabVIEW or Microsoft Visual Studio.
