Acclaim USB Camera Installation
Required materials:
Required Eaglesoft
modules:
Install on the following computers:
• A/T Acclaim drivers CD
• A/T Acclaim camera and
control box
• USB cable
• Power cable
• Game port cable
• Video Capture
• Any operatory workstation using the
Acclaim
NOTE: The Air Techniques Acclaim Camera is only supported on Windows 2000 and
Windows XP Professional with Patterson Eaglesoft software.
NOTE: The Air Techniques Acclaim Camera is only supported on USB 2.0. NOTE: DIRECT X
version 9.0 has to be loaded for Windows.
**WINDOWS XP INSTRUCTIONS** (Windows 2000 begins with step 20)
1. Insert the A/T Acclaim Drivers CD into the CDROM.
2. Click Exit.
3. Attach the camera to the control box with the camera cable.
4. Plug the power supply for the camera into the control box and then into the outlet.
5. Connect the USB cable to the control box then plug into the USB port on the
computer. The Add New Hardware Wizard will appear.

6. Mark the option Install the software automatically (recommended). Click Next.
7. If the Logo Testing message should appear, click Continue Anyway to complete the
installation.

8. Click Finish (to close the Add New Hardware Wizard).
9. Verify the driver has been loaded correctly through Device Manager. To access Device
Manager, go to:
•Start | Settings | Control Panel. Double-click on the System icon.
•Choose the Hardware tab.
•Click on the Device Manager button.
A/T SLC USB Camera will appear under Imaging Device.

10.To activate the buttons on the Acclaim hand piece, connect the serial game port cable to
the back of the camera control box (port labeled PC) and then to the game port on the
computer.
11.Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel. Double-click on the Gaming Options icon.
12.Click Add.
13.Highlight the option for 2-axis, 2-button joystick. Click OK.

14.You should now have a listing for 2-axis, 2-button joystick with a status of OK.
15.To test the buttons on the camera, highlight the joystick listing and click Properties.
16.Press and release the top button on the camera. The red indicator to the left should
illuminate.

17.Press and release the bottom button on the camera. The red indicator to the right
should illuminate.
18.Click OK (to exit Gaming Options).

**WINDOWS 2000 INSTRUCTIONS**
1. Insert the A/T Acclaim Drivers CD into the CDROM.
2. Click Exit.

5. Connect the USB cable to the control box then plug into the USB port on the
computer. The Add New Hardware Wizard will appear.

7. Mark the option Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended). Click Next.
8. Check the box for CD-ROM drives. Click Next.

9. The wizard should find the device under ?\device drivers\at slc usb camera.inf. Click
Next.
10.If the Digital Signature message should appear, click Yes (to complete the installation).
11.If the Digital Signature message should appear, click Yes to complete the installation.
12.Click Finish (to close the Add New Hardware Wizard).

13.Verify the driver has been loaded correctly through Device Manager. To access Device
Manager, go to:
•Start | Settings | Control Panel. Double-click on the System icon.

A/T SLC USB Camera will appear under Imaging Device.
