1 Safety Information

Before operating the unit, please read the manual carefully
• Input voltage: AC 220V ,50/60 Hz.
• Make sure the dental unit is well-grounded .
• This dental unit does not include any components that can be fixed by the user.
Therefore, should any trouble arise, do not attempt to dismantle it yourself.
• All the electrical components and connections should be made by an authorized
technician.
• Only fuse and accessories recognized by Ajax can be used.
• After using this dental unit or if this dental unit is not to be used, the patient chair
should be returned to the lowest position and water, air, and power supply should be
cut off.
• Do not use this dental unit in high temperature, high humidity, vibration flammability,
unbalance, or dusty environment.
• The operation cycling factor of the patient chair is 20%, and the continuous operation
time should not exceed one minute.
• Only the authorized spare parts can be used in this device.
• This dental unit should not come into contact with any object in its operational range of
movement.
• Do not touch the bulb and the surface of the reflector of the dental light during working.
• This device can not be used in the environment of strong magnetic, electromagnetic.
• This device should not be used for purposes other than intended use
• The water source of Dental Unit used for purifying tap water, use water quality should
be consistent with the local people for the water standard, the water hardness is less
than 450 mg/L.
• Air compressor used by the Dental Chair requires no water, no oil, and no sanitary
defects. The gas used in dentistry shall comply with local standards.
• Sterile water pipes are disinfected with a standard disinfectant once a day. Water
bottles are only available for use with distilled water.
• During the operation of the dental chair, make sure that there are no accessible
objects within the range of movement.
• Remove the water in Air adjustable pressure filter valve in time(Reference:drain the
water by Air input adjustable pressure filter.)
• Clean or replace water filter core in time(Reference:Clean or replace water filter)

• The oil collection of weak suction should be cleaned every month.
• When controlling the lifting operation of the dental chair directly, the control
button must be continuously maintained until the desired position.
• After adjusting the position of the head frame, you must confirm that the head
frame is locked before use .
• When replacing electrical components, the power must be switched off.
• The machine must also be switched off when servicing and cleaning the
machine .
• If you want to install functional accessories in the machine, such as cleaning
machine, light curing and other selected accessories or equipment must be
certified by the safety of quality products .
• Transportation, storage environment requirements :
a. Ambient temperature range :-40 ~ +70°C,
b. Relative humidity range :20%~90%, Including condensation ,
c. Atmospheric pressure range :500~1060kPa.
• Transport in the rain, anti-large vibration, please handle with care
• Packaged equipment stored in the relative humidity of not more than 80%, non-
corrosive gases, with well-ventilated indoor.
• The waste water, waste disposal must meet the local environmental protection
requirements.
• Equipment maintenance must be authorized by the company's professional
maintenance personnel to carry out, unauthorized dismantling maintenance
may cause fatal harm to the machine, and no longer enjoy the company's
warranty service rights.

• You should be carefully read understand the contents of the instructions before operating
the equipment.
• Operation should follow all warnings and cautions on the instrument 。
• The power socket cable should be in accordance with the standard configuration and the
ground wire must be secure 。
• Avoid opening the water heater switch without water supply.
• Dentist unit tray shall not be stacked too heavy items (maximum load 2.5kg) 。
• Dental unit pressure has been set before leaving factory, non-professionals are not free to
adjust.
• Dental chair rotation limit has been locked, non-professionals are not free to adjust .
• When get off work, you should turn off the main switch of water, gas, power .
• The handpiece will supply water when the foot switch must be adjusted to the state of water
supply. (only for 4-way handpiece)
• Unit or individual outpatient who use of the equipment must be equipped with or connected
to an amalgam separation device in the waste discharge system of dental unit.
• The water and gas must be emptied and then cut off sources of water and electricity,
connect sources of water and electricity before the use.
• 3-way syringe handle and nozzle should be put into the disinfection bag to disinfect, and
then 134 ℃ (pressure 205.8KPa) high pressure steam disinfection, disinfection time is not
less than 3 minutes.
• please read the user’s guide before cleaning and disinfecting the high speed handpiece and
low speed handpiece.
• The cover are cleaned with wet cloth and neutral detergent to ensure smooth and elastic
leather surface and free from corrosion; PU parts and ABS parts are cleaned with a soft
cloth dampened with soap and water; the metal baking parts are washed with soft cloth
dipped in soapy water or wipe with a wax spray.
• Take extra care with a fiber-optic handpiece to avoid damaging the shining part in the end
and make sure that the head will not come into contact with the treated mixture, keep a
certain distance or use a transparent sheet before the first 5 seconds of treatment.

• Any traces left by the mixture on the tool must be removed immediately, remove the fiber-optic
handpiece and clean it with a cloth in wipe with alcohol.
• Don’t point the light of the fiber-optic handpiece to the patient's eyes! The emitted light may
cause harm to some patients, such as cataract patients. Generally speaking, the fiber does not
cause lasting damage, but may induce temporary blindness.
• Limited load of dental chair is 135kg, it will not work properly if overload.
• If dental unit work with external equipment to carry out planting work, you should disconnect
the dental chair power supply before working to avoid personal injury due to malfunction and
accidentally touching the control button.
• Only when the high-speed handpiece and low-speed handpiece completely are stopped, the
needle can not be removed, otherwise it will lead to damage to the chuck, it will lead to
personal injury if the needle is out.
• Only use high quality needles and the appropriate size of the bolts.
• Every day, you should check the damage of collect before starting work to determine whether
the needle is firmly in the handpiece.
• After replacing the needle of high-speed handpiece, pull the needle out to confirm that it is
installed in place.
• The diameter of the needle should be between 1.59-1.60mm (ISO1797 Ⅲ), the maximum
length is 25mm (ISO6360-1 Standard).
• Only in the case of the installation of a needle or repair tool, high-speed handpiece can be
used.
• Do not press the button which make the needle off when the tool is in use, the friction between
the button and the air motor impeller will overheat the head, that may cause burnout.
• The organization (tongue, cheek, lips, etc.) of the patient's mouth must be protected by a
suitable method (with a mirror, etc.) to avoid touching the button
• Do not touch the dental light bulb directly, until the lamp cooling, the replacement after wearing
protective gloves, avoid to be burned.
• It is forbidden to touch PC board and manufacturer's electronic components by hand or metal.
• Users should maintain and replace parts which are easy to age (such as handpiece) on time.
• Can not be used in flammable narcotic gas mixed with air or flammable narcotic with oxygen or
nitrous oxide.

4 Introduction
Thank you for choosing Ajax equipment. This guide contains basic
operating instructions, control panel programming, adjustments, and
maintenance for AJ16 systems, including:
• Dental chair
• Assistant’s Unit
• Dentist Unit
• Cuspidor
4.1 About AJ16 Dental Unit
Your AJ16 include :
Die Casting Frame Dental chair, Luxury Whip Arm Dentist Unit(Or New
Hanging Type Dentist Unit) , rotatable cuspidor, Integrated switch, LED
Dental Light. (Refer to figure 1)

Checking method:
1. Open to the maximum position for the
lower part of hydraulic cylinder and the
higher part of hydraulic cylinder under
the chair.
2. See the oil in the oil tank before opening
the front shell.
3. If the oil have less than one-third at this
time, you need to refuel the oil. (refer to
figure 12)
When the oil in the tank is less than the
provisions, you need to add some oil.
