Safety Instructions
When using electric products, basic precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
1. Read Instructions – All the safety and operating instructions
should be read before the appliance is operated.
2. Retain Instructions – The safety and operating instructions
should be retained for future reference.
3. Heed Warnings – Adhere to all warnings on the appliance and in
the operating instructions.
4. Follow Instructions – All operating and use instructions should
be followed.
5. Water and Moisture – The appliance should not be used near
water-for example, near a bathtub, wash-bowl, kitchen sink, laundry
tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, etc.
6. Carts and Stands – The appliance should be used only with a
cart or stand that is recommended by the
manufacturer. An appliance and cart
combination should be moved with
care. Quick stops, excessive force,
and uneven surfaces may cause the
appliance and cart combination to
overturn.
7. Wall or Ceiling Mounting – The appliance should be mounted
to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer.
8. Ventilation – The appliance should be situated so that its location
or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation.
For example, the appliance should not be situated on a bed, sofa,
rug or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings; or
placed in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or cabinet that

9. Heat – The appliance should be situated away from heat sources
such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliance
(including amplifier) which produce heat.
10. Nonuse Periods – The power cord of the appliance should be
unplugged from the outlet when left unused for a long period of
time.
11. Power Sources – The appliance should be connected to a power
supply only of the type described in the operating instructions
or as marked on the appliance.
12. Power Lines – An outdoor antenna should be located away
from power lines.
13. Power Cord Protection – Power-supply cords should be routed
so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items
placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords,
at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit
from the appliance.
14. Power requirements for multi voltage (not for all models)–
Before connecting the power cord, make sure that the voltage
selector on the rear panel is set to the correct voltage for you
area. If not, please set it correctly.
15. Load – For protecting the appliance from being damaged, rated
load while is printed on the appliance or is explained in operation
instruction, that should be connected to the speaker output of the
appliance. Never short circuit the speaker output of the appliance
when the appliance is working.
16. Object and Liquid Entry – Care should be taken so that objects
do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through
openings.
17. Cleaning – Unplug the appliance from the wall outlet before
cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaner. Use a
damp cloth for cleaning.
18. Make your contribution to protect the environment – Used
batteries with the ISO symbol for recycling as well as small
accumulators (rechargeable batteries),
mini-batteries (cells) and starter
batteries should not be thrown into
the garbage can. Please leave them
at an appropriate depot.
19. Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords
as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
20. Damage Requiring Service – Unplug this appliance from the
wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under
the following conditions:
a). The power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged;
b). Objects have been fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the
appliance;
c). The appliance has been exposed to rain;
d). The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits
a marked change in performance;
e). The appliance has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged.
Care and handling of discs
When handling a disc, do not touch the surface of the disc.
Since discs are made of plastic, they are easily damaged. If
a disc gets dirty, dusty, scratched or warped, the images and
sound will not be picked up correctly, such a disc may cause
the player to malfunction.
Label side
Do not damage the label side,
attach any adhesive labels or
sticky pads on its surface.
Storage
Make sure that discs are kept in their cases. If discs are piled
on top of one another without their protective cases, they can be
damaged. Do not put discs in a location where they may be
exposed to direct sunlight, or in a place where the humidity or
temperature is high. Avoid leaving discs in your car!
Maintenance of discs
If there are fingerprints or other dirt
adhering to a disc, wipe with a soft
dry cloth, moving from the center
outwards.
If a disc is difficult to clean, wipe
with a cloth moistened with water.
Never use record cleaners, petrol,
alcohol or any anti-static agents.

Connections
Before connecting the system:
• Connect everything securely. Loose connections can lead to
malfunction or damage caused by a short circuit.
• Connect the power cord after all connections have been made.
• Connection will depend on which system you have (some of the
components may be optional).
Removing the flat cable
To remove the flat cable, pull it straight out while
pressing the tabs on its sides. Note: Connect the red wires to the¡°+¡±terminals.

Antenna placement
Do not place the AM loop antenna on top of the tuner or any other
metal encasedobject as thiscouldresultin noiseinterference. It should
also not be placed near a CD player, computer or TV set.
The FM antenna should be attached toa walletc.,afterbeingunwound
and extended to its full length.

FM broadcasts provide excellent sound quality, but in order to
take advantage of this ,the radio waves must be received properly.

Remote control
Preparation of remote control
1. Remove the cover of the battery compartment on therear of
the remote control.
2. Insert two AA batteries with correct polarity (+/-) marking
indicated inside.
3. Close the cover.
Remove the batteries when not using the unit for a long time.
When replacing the batteries, replace them both at the same
time, don not mix the old and new batteries.
Usage of remote control
Point the remote control at the sensor on the unit and then press the
button.
The remote control operates within a range of 30oto the left or
right of the system and 8m or less from it.
Do not expose remote control to high temperature or high
humidity.
Avoid exposing the remote sensor window to direct sunlight or
strong light.
When operating the remote control, make sure that it is pointed at
the remote sensor window on the unit.

- VOLUME +
Volume mute
Press the MUTE button on the remote control
to instantly lower the volume. Press it again
to resume the normal volume.
Sound adjustment
Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to display “TREB”, “BASS”,
“L-----R”, Sound Effect and “VOL”.
– When “TREB” is displayed, adjusts the level by rotating the
DOWN VOLUME UP knob on the unit or by pressing the
DOWN or UP button on the remote control.
– When “BASS” is displayed, raises the level for the louder range
by the UPbutton and lowers the level by the DOWN button.
– When “L-----R” is displayed, press the DOWN/UPbutton to
balance the left/right side level.
– When Sound Effect is displayed, press the DOWN/UP button to
selectdifferent sound effect.
The display will change as the sequence:
Loudness selection
Pressthe LOUDNESSbutton on theunit,
“LOUD ON” or “LOUD OFF” will appear
on the display window.
Press the button again to switch “ON” or
“OFF”, meanwhile, the LOUDNESS indicator
on the front panel lights or disappears.
– When “LOUD ON” is displayed , it adds compensation tobass
sounds that are hard to hear at low volume.
– When “LOUD OFF” is selected, the loudness function will be
cancelled.
Tone
When playing the KARAOKE disc, if a song is too high or low for
your range, you can alter the key of the song to suit your voice.
A. Press the “ ” button to lower the tone.
B. Press the “ ” button to raise the tone.
C. Press the “ ” button to resume the tone.
Basic Operations of System
Switch on/off the power
Press the STANDBY/ON button on the
unit or the button on the remote control
to turn on the unit; Press this button again
to turn it off to standby mode.
– The Power button is only a standby switch. To cut power
completely, unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet.
Video out select
According to your television system, you can set the
output system to NTSC or PAL mode by pressing
the PAL/NTST button on the remote control.
NTSC............. for NTSC exclusive TV
PAL ...............for PAL exclusive TV
Input source selection
There are 3 input sources for your selection:
VCD, TUNER, AUX
Press the FUNCTION button, then rotate the DOWN VOLUME
UP knob on the unit or press the DOWN/UP button on the remote
control to select the input source.
The display will change as the sequence:
Setting the clock
You can set the clock in standby mode by using the remote control.
1. Press the ENTER button, the display window will display time
digits, “AM” or “PM” flashes, press the SET button to switch.
And then press the ENTER button, the hour section flashes.
2 Press the SET button to set the hour digits, thenpress the ENTER
button,the minute sectionflashes.
3. Press the SETbutton to settheminutedigits, thenpress the ENTER
buttonto complete thetime setting.
Sound control
Volume
You can adjust the volume by rotating the DOWN VOLUME UP
knob on the unit or the - VOLUME + button on the remote control.

Playback
You can choose the playback mode after reading disc.
PBC Playback (Menu Playback)
1. Enter the PBC playback directly after reading disc,
the PBC indicator lights on the display window.
(only for VCD version 2.0 disc)
2. Press the number buttons to choose the playback according
to the menu instruction.
3. Press the PBC button to cancel the PBC function, and go to
the normal playback mode.
4. Press the PBC button, you can switch to the PBC playback
from another playback mode.
Normal Playback
1. Select the track directly with the number buttons on the unit or
the remote control.
To start playback from track 5, press the 5 button, and the
fifth track will be selected;
To start playback from track 12, press the +10 and 2 buttons.
Program Playback
Use this function to program the tracks in any order you like.
1. Instopmode,presstheMEM/PROGbuttontoenter program mode,
“PROG” lights on the display window, the TV screen shows
“PROGRAM P00:00”.
To enter the program number by using number buttons.
For example: Press the 8 button to program the eighth track;
Press the +10 and 1 buttons can program the eleventh track.
2. Press the (play/pause) button to start playback in the
programmed order.
– Press the button to play the track in the programmed
order.
3. Press the (stop) button again to stop and cancel the Program
playback mode.

PBC
PBC
Left/Right channel.
A. You can select KARAOKE mode music only or voice only when
playingthe KARAOKE disc.
a. Select Left channel, Right channel or Stereo by
pressing the L/R button repeatedly.
b. According to different discs, the main voice is
recorded in Left or Right channel, you can select
the Left or Right channel to mute the main voice.
(Ordinarily the Left channel is KARAOKE mode music
and the Right channel is voice for KARAOKEdisc.
c. Select the KARAOKE L to auto fade the main voice.
B. If you play a bilingual VCD, you can select the language with
the L/R button.
Surround sound selection
Press SURR button repeatedly,The TV screen will
display as follows:
(HALL) (LIVE)
(THEATER) (SURROUND)
(OFF)
It will bring you the best enjoyment for KARAOKE or music.
Note:
If there is any whistling sound, please keep the microphone far from the
speaker or adjust the volume of the TV (Amplifier) and the microphone.

Loading/Playing discs
In addition to the conventional 12-cm(5-inch) CDs, 8-cm(3-inch) CDs
(CD Singles) can be used.
1. Press the button to turn on the power.
2. In VCD input source, press the button on
the unit or the button on the remote control
to open the disc tray. Place the CD on the disc
tray, label side up.
3. Press the button again to close the disc
tray, and the disc is going to be read.
4. Pressing the (Play/Pause) button
to pause play.
– When the CD is paused, press the
button resumes playback where
it was paused.
5. Press the (Stop) button to stop playing.
Resume (Memory) playback
1. Pressing the (Stop) button will record the current point
automatically during playback.
2. If a stopping point exists in stop mode, press the
RESUME button to continue playing from the
previous stopping point automatically.

Track repeat/All repeat
1. In normal playback mode, press the REPEAT
button once, the current track is played repeatedly,
the display window shows “REP-ONE”.
2. Press this button again, all tracks on the current
disc are played repeatedly, the display window
appears “REP-ALL”.
3. Pressing this button a third time will cancel repeat
function, the display window shows “REP-OFF”.
Time Display
1. During playing press OSD button, the TV screen
displays “ SINGLE ELASPED ” time for the
current track.
2. In stop mode, press OSD button, the Tv screen
displays “ TOTAL REMAIN ” time for the
current disc.
Screen chart display
Pressing the DISPLAY button repeatedly can set
six modes of the screen chart display.
Search picture feature
Search forward or reverse
Press the or button to search the picture quicklyduring playing.
1. To search reverse, press the button. To search forward,
press the button.
2. When you reached your desired point, press the button.
To continue to search the disc, press the button.
3. The unit will be played at x1, x2, x3 speed.
Fast Forward (FF):
Play - FF x1 - FF x2 - FF x3 - Play
Fast Reverse( FR):
Play - FR x1 - FR x2 - FR x3 - Play
Note:
These speeds increase the higher the speed number.
Skip forward or reverse
1. During playing press the button to skip to the previous or
next track.
2. In the Menu display press the to skip to the previous or next
page.
Playing time selection
The playing time can be set.
1. In normal playback mode, press the GO TO button, on the
TV will appear:
2. Enter minute and second digits by pressing the Number
buttons, then playback will start automatically from the time
which has been set.
For example: The total time of a disc is 70 minutes, now you want to
start from 45:35, press the GO TO button, and then enter 4,5,3,5 in turn.
Note:
The digits of minutes or seconds must be 2 bit, if it is a single one, please
enter a 0 to complete it.
E.g.: Set the time as 5 minutes, enter the digits in turn like this: 0, 5, 0, 0.
Slow playback
The player has 4 types of Slow playback.
1. Each time you press the SLOW button,
The TV screen will display as follows:

Play
There will be no sound during the slow playback.
2. Pressing the button fifth will resume normal playback.
Scene digest
With this function you can check the contents of a Video CD,
watching the first several seconds of each track.
1. Press the PREVIEW button in stop mode,
“INTRO” appears on the TV screen,
the player starts to display in sequence the
first 10 seconds of each track on the current disc.
2. Go directly to the corresponding scene by pressing the
button once.

Make sure that the clock of the system is set to the preset time before
programming. (Refer to “Setting the clock”)
Setting an alarm
Use this function to start VCD playback or TUNER reception
automatically. This function can also be used to wake yourself
up in the morning.
1. Press the CLOCK button, the display window will display
“ALA SET” or “SLE SET”; When appearing ALA SET, press
the ENTER, the time display will appear on the display window.
2. “AM” or “PM” flashes, press the SET buttontoselect. Then press
the ENTER button, the hour display flashes.
3. Press the SET button to set the hour, then press the ENTER
button, the minute display flashes.
4. Press the SET button to set the minute, then press the ENTER
button to complete the time set.
5. “ALA OFF” flashes, press the SET button to switch ON or OFF.
When displaying “ON”, the function will beactive. Then press the
ENTER button to confirm, the “AUTO” indicator lights up.
6. Press the “ STANDBY/ON” button
on the unit or the “ ” button on the
remote control to turn the unit off to
standby mode.
– The unit will turn on automatically at the set time.
– Follow the above steps 1~5, select “ALA OFF” in step 5to
cancel the Alarm function.
Sleep timer
The Sleep timer function can be used to turn the system off
automatically at a set time.
1. Press the CLOCK button, the display window will display
ALA SET or SLE SET; When appearing “SLE SET”, press the
ENTER, the time display will appear on the display window.
2. Press the SET button to set the Auto Off time in sequence:

The “SLEEP” indicator lights up.
– The unit will turn off automatically at the set time and go to
the standby mode.
– To cancel the Sleep timer, set the time to 00.
Timer Functions
CLOCK SETENTER
Station Tuning
Stationscanbe tuned manually orautomaticallyandthen memorizedif
desired. Tuned stations can also be assigned channel numbers and
stationnames. Once memorized,
stations can be easily tuned by selecting the channel number.
Up to 40 stations can be memorialized: (FM20, AM20)
Manual/Auto tuning
1. Press the BAND button to select the band (FM/AM).
2. Manual tuning: Pressing the - TUNING + button repeatedly
to scan and tune, you can tune in the frequency of the station
you wish to listen to.
Auto tuning: Press and hold down the - TUNING + button
(for at least 1 second) , then release it ,and start autotuning.
– Press the - TUNING + button to stop scanning anytime.
– If the receiving signal is weak ,advise to tune in by Manual
tuning ,which can tuned in more stations than by Auto tuning.
Preset memory
1. Press the BAND button to select the band (FM/AM).
2. Use the - TUNING + button to tune in the station you wish to
store into preset memory, then press the MEMORY button.
3. Select the desired preset number (FM1-20, AM1-20) with the
- CHANNEL + button.
Station selection
1. Press the BAND button to select the band (FM/AM).
2. Select the memorized station with the - CHANNEL + button.
Stereo/Mono switching
If the amount of noise in a FM stereo broadcast
you are listening to becomes bothersome, Press
theST/MONObutton to put theunitinto mono mode.
– The STEREO indicator on the display goes out and the audio
switches to mono, which reduces the amount of noise received.
– To end mono mode, press this button again.

Troubleshooting
Before calling for service make the following simple checks.
If problems still remain, please try to turn the TV set off for a few minutes so as to clean the unnecessary static accumulation, and
then turn it on again. If it is still useless, please contact with our dealer or our company’s Service Department.
Do not attempt to repair this appliance yourself as opening covers may let the warranty card to invalidation.
