Introduction
Proradio keepsthe advantagesof a heavy duty, rigid headset, to ensure the safetyof hearing
in noisy working environments, combined with the functionsof an modern PMR-transceiver,that
can be used without licence innearlyallEuropean countries(see country list attached).
Active function
Active hearing-protection with electronicallyLevel-Limiting at 83 dB.
Withthe blackrotary-switch on the side ofthe shell you turn on the activefunction. Nowyou
can hear the surrounding-noisesand speak again stereophonically. At abruptrising noise
(hammer-blow, shot etc.)the electronic will limit the levelwhich you hear inthe headset
FM-Radio
You can receivethe FM Radio (87.5 – 108 MHz)
Coverage
The operating band (446MHz)allows clear communication, virtuallyfree fromatmospheric
interferencesand – despite the lowpower – willallowyou to communicate upto a distance of
2 to 5 km.The maximum range isobtained operatingina open space.
Ifyoufind communication isnot possible, many timesthiscan be solvedby moving a few
metersto a newlocation. Range isalso reduceswhileoperating ina vehicleor metal building.
Expected Battery Operating Timing
The typicallife timeof one batterycharging cycleassumesthatinstandard applicationsduring
90 % ofthe operating timethe radioisinstandby mode, and transmit and receivingperiodswith
higher volumeare only 10 % ofthe totaltime.
In this mode the battery charging willlastforabout 24 hoursmax.
An automatic energy saving system willbe enabled when the radio doesnot receive any
incoming signalwithinthe lastminuteofoperation.
With enabled broadcast radioor “activemode” the energy saving system willnot be enabled,
thusthe maximum operating timemay go down to appr. 8 hours, depending on the volume
selected.
Battery Charging
Use the supplied originalcharger only.Thecharger isadjusted speciallyto the batteriesofthe
unit.Differentcharger maydestroy the batteryirreversible
To increase the life of yourbattery, avoid charging it longer than necessary. Subsequently 12
hourswill providea fullcharge. Too often overloading effectively reducesthe battery capacity
after sometime.
Cleaning
Hanger, headset and microphone maybe cleaned severaltimeswith a dampcloth only.
Do not use alcoholorharsh chemicals !
Safety precautions
• neverexpose the unitto extremetemperaturesor dust
• avoid contact withwater
• use the supplied original charger only
• to increase the lifetime of your battery, avoidchargingit longer than necessary.
