WARRANTY
Alert Warranty Information
Product warranty returns must only be submitted by an
authorized dealer.
All Alert models have a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the
main control module.
All parts excluding the control module have a two year
warranty against defects in workmanship. This includes the
shock sensors remote transmitters and sirens. The control
module will be repaired or replaced at our discretion for up
to a 24 month period at no charge. After 24 months a $30.00
fee will be charged for repair or replacement of the control
module.
Removal and reinstallation charges are not the responsibility
of JBS Technologies LLC the manufacturer of Alert. Warranty
registration must be completed within 14 days of the original
date of purchase. Registration can be mailed in or performed
on line at www.alertautomotive.com. JBS Technologies makes
no warranty against the theft of a vehicle or its contents.
This warranty only extends to the original system purchaser
and the vehicle it was originally installed on.
Limitation of Remedies
The purchasers remedy is limited to the repair or replacement
of the unit and in no event shall exceed the purchase price.
Incidental consequential and or indirect damages are expressly
disclaimed. No person or entity is authorized to alter or
amend this limited lifetime warranty.

F. ACTI E LOCK & ARM:
1. Press the button on the transmitter.
2. he horn will chirp (1) time and parking lights will flash (1) time and
then remain on for 10 seconds indicating that the system is now
armed. he vehicles doors will lock upon arming when interfaced with
the security systems keyless entry.
SILENT ARMING / DISARMING: Pressing the and the buttons at
the same time on the transmitter will arm or disarm your security system.
No chirping sound will be heard, arm and disarm confirmation will be through
the vehicles parking lights only.
G.ACTI E UNLOCK & DISARM:
1. Press the button on the transmitter.
2. he horn will chirp (2) times and parking lights will flash (2) times
and remain on for 30 seconds to indicate that the security system
is now disarmed. he doors will unlock and dome light will turn on and
remain on for 30 seconds upon disarming when interfaced with the security
system.
TWO STEP DOOR UNLOCK his feature will independently unlock the
drives door only when disarming the security system. Pressing the
button a second time within 3 seconds will unlock the entire vehicle.
H. DISARMING WITHOUT A TRANSMITTER
he Override function may be used if the remote transmitter is lost or is
inoperative.
1. Enter the vehicle and insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it
to the ON position.
2. Within 10 seconds, press and release the valet switch.
he alarm will enter the disarm mode. You can now start and operate
the vehicle with the ignition key.

I. VALET MODE: (System in Disarmed or Valet Mode)
The valet/program s itch allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm
functions, eliminating the need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants
or garage mechanics. When the system is in Valet Mode, all alarm
functions and remote starter functions are bypassed, however the remote
panic feature and remote door locks will remain operational from the remote
control. To use the Valet Mode, the system must first be disarmed either
by using you remote transmitter, or by operating the manual override
sequence.
To Enter Valet Mode:
1. With the system in disarmed mode, turn the ignition key to the ON
position.
2. ress and hold valet/program s itch for 2 seconds or until the LED
turns on. The LED will remain on for as long as the system is in Valet
Mode.
To Exit Valet Mode:
1. To return to normal operation, turn ignition key to the ON position.
2. ress and hold the valet/program s itch for 2 seconds, The LED will
turn off,indicating the system has exited the Valet Mode.
REMOTE VALET: (System in Disarm or Valet Mode)
ress and release the button on the transmitter (3) three times within
3 seconds to enter / exit valet mode.
The parking lights will flash (1) time to confirm entering of Valet Mode
and (2) parking light flashes to confirm the exiting of Valet Mode.
J. PANIC FUNCTION:
The transmitter can be used as a remote panic button, to manually trigger
the panic alarm in case of emergency.
1. ress and hold the button for 3 second. The alarm will immediately
sound in Panic Mode.
2. During Panic Mode, the normal functions of the transmitter buttons
will be suspended. The and buttons can be used to lock and unlock
the doors (if the option is installed), however once the button is
pressed, the vehicles starter disable device, (if installed) will be enable
allowing the vehicle to start.

OPERATION
3. To stop the Panic Mode, press and hold the or buttons on the
transmitter for 3 seconds. Also if any transmitter buttons other than
or button is pressed and released, the panic mode will be turned off
immediately.
4. If the button is not pressed, the Panic Mode will automatically stop
after 30 seconds.
K. DOME LIGHT SUPER ISION
The system has a unique feature which will turn on your vehicle s dome
light as follows:
1. After disarming, the dome lights will remain on for 30 seconds (if
connected).
2. If the vehicle is intruded, the dome light will flash for the same duration
as the siren.
Note: Turning on the ignition switch or arming the alarm will turn
off the dome light.
L. IGNITION CONTROLLED DOOR LOCKS.
If the vehicles door locks have been interfaced with the unit s keyless entry,
the system will automatically lock the vehicle's doors when the ignition is
turned ON and will unlock the vehicle s doors when the ignition is turned
OFF.
M. CHANNEL 3 (TRUNK RELEASE) OUTPUT
Press and hold the button on transmitter for two seconds to control the
trunk release or other electric devices that have been added to this output.
N. CHANNEL 4 OUTPUT (See Alarm Feature 1 4/5 Programming)
Press the and the buttons at the same time to control the optional
electrical device. The connected device will turn on, when the button(s) are
press continuously, and turn off, when the button(s) are released.
O. CAR FINDER
Press the button twice to active the Car Finder function. The siren
will chirp 6 times. The parking light will flash 12 times, this feature will
help you find your vehicle in a crowded parking lot.

WARNINGS:
As with any product that performs automatic functions, there are certain
safety precautions that you must practice and be aware of.
1. Keep all transmitters out of the reach of children.
2. Do not leave anyone in the vehicle while in Remote Start ode.
3. Alert servicing personnel that the vehicle is equipped with a Remote
Starter.
4. Do not start the vehicle by remote while its in an enclosed area or garage.
5. Always apply the parking brake and lock the vehicle when you exit the
vehicle.
6. Should the unit malfunction, disconnect the fuse until the problem is
corrected.
7. The use and operations of this system is the sole responsibility of the
operator.
8. Some areas may have local ordinances that prohibit leaving a vehicle
running on public streets.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
REMOTE START OPERATION
A. TO REMOTE START THE VEHICLE:
When you want to remote start your vehicle,
1. Press the button twice on the transmitter.
2. The parking lights will flash to indicate the remote starter has received
the signal.
3. The engine will start in approximately 5 seconds.
4. Once the engine is running, after a few seconds the parking lights will
turn on and Heater/AC will activate and adjust the vehicles interior
temperature to your preset setting.
5. The vehicle will remote start and run for 5 to 30 minutes and automatically
shut down after the preset run time expires.
NOTE: The Remote Starter will not start the vehicle if any one of the
following conditions exists:
1. If the hood is opened.
2. If the brake pedal is pressed.
3. You moved the optional remote starter enable toggle switch to OFF
position. (If installed)
4. If the gear selector is in any gear other then PAR or NEUTRAL
5. Release the Emergency brake. (For anual Transmission Vehicles)

SAFE START (Child safety mode) (See Start Feature 1 5 Programming.)
Factory default settings to press the button twice on the transmitter to
remote start the vehicle. Programming this feature to eliminate an accidental
remote starts.
This requires the user to press the transmitters and buttons at the
same time to remote start the vehicle.
REM TE START PERATI N
B. ENGINE START PR GRAMMING F R VEHICLES WITH MANUAL
TRANSMISSI NS (Cut the VI LET L P wire for a manual transmission
vehicles)
The control module senses the neutral safety switch position on a automatic
transmission vehicle and no prior set up required. The system for the manual
transmission vehicles follows this process when you exit the vehicle to sense
and memorize the neutral safety switch position. If the vehicle has a automatic
transmission, this process is omitted.
1. While the engine is running with the ignition key, set the emergency
brake and place the manual transmission in the neutral position.
2. Before turning off the engine, press the button twice on the transmitter.
The LED indicator will flash 3 times to confirm it has been entered.
3. Turn off the Ignition Key and remove it from the ignition switch.
The engine should continue running until the pre programmed time has
elapsed or the shutdown input is received.
4. Exit the vehicle and close all doors.
The engine should still continue running and this is a normal operating
procedure.
5. Within 1 minute from the time of step 1, press the button on the
transmitter to lock the doors.
6 1. If the engine shuts down immediately, the system is now ready for
remote engine starts.
6 2. If the engine does not shut down immediately, the system has failed.
Repeat the above process again.
If a door is opened after the above procedure, the prior memorization for
the next remote or programmed engine start sequence is deleted and the
remote start function will not work until you repeat the above process again.
Note: If the remote start programming is set up, the dome light supervision
function will be temporarily

C.TO TURN OFF THE REMOTE STARTER:
When the engine is running in (Remote Start Mode), if you want shut
down the engine:
1. Press the button twice on the transmitter, the engine will shut off.
2. Move the optional remote starter ena le toggle switch to the OFF
position. (If installed)
3. Press the rake pedal. The engine will shut down and the parking lights
will turn off to indicate engine has shut down.
D. TO O ERATE THE VEHICLE WHILE RUNNING ON THE REMOTE
START:
To operate the vehicle while running in Remote Start Mode.
1. Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON
(not the start) position.
2. Press the rake pedal.
Note: If the brake pedal is pressed before the key is in the ON
position, the engine will shut off.
E. IT STO FEATURE:
This feature allows the vehicle to remain running after the key has een
removed from the ignition switch. This feature is useful for occasions when
you wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short periods of time, ut would
like to leave the engine running and the Heater/AC control on.
1. Before turning off the engine, press the button twice on the transmitter
and the LED indicator will flash 3 times to confirm it has een entered.
2. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. (The engine will stay running.)
3. The engine will remain running until the pre-programmed time elapsed
or a shutdown input is received.
F. TURBO COOL-DOWN TIMER MODE:
Tur o Cool Down timer mode keeps the engine running after arriving at you
destination for a programma le period of 1/ 3 or 5 minutes, This allows the
systems time to conveniently cool down the tur o after you have left the
vehicle. The time setting is programmed y the installer.
To activate:
1. While the engine is running, place the transmission in the park position
and apply the emergency rake.

2. Before turning off the engine, press and release the and buttons
at the same time.
-- The parking lights will turn on to indicate the remote starter has entered
turbo cool down mode. --
3. Turn off the Ignition Key and remove the key from the ignition switch.
-- The engine should remain running. --
. Exit and secure the vehicle.
-- The engine will continue running until the pre-programmed time has
elapsed.
G. TIMER START:
This unit can be programmed to start and run the engine every 2 or
hours. The engine will run for the programmed run time and then shut
down.
IMPORTANT: Timer Start should be used only in open areas, never
start and run the vehicle in on enclosed space such as a garage or carport.
2 or hour timer start: This feature is design for an extreme cold climate
usage. The system will auto start the vehicle every 2 or 3 hours, to prevent
engine from freezing or a hard starting engine. A MAXIMUM OF SIX
CYCLES CAN OCCUR.
ENTER:
1. Press the button twice to remote start the vehicle. As soon as the
vehicle is running, the parking lights will turn on.
2. Immediately depress the button once, within 2 seconds
3. Rapidly depress the button. The parking light will flash ( ) times. The
siren or horn will chirp ( ) times. The vehicle is now programmed to
start every 2 or 3 hours.
. Press the brake pedal to shut the engine off.
Exiting the timer start:
Timer start can be exited manually as follows:
1. Make sure the vehicle is not in remote start mode.
2. Turn the ignition key ON. The LED and parking lights will flash (4)
times. The siren or horn will chirp (4) times. Or you can:
Press the button twice to remote start the vehicle. As soon as the engine
is running and the parking lights have turned on or are in flashing mode.
1. Immediately depress the button, then press and hold the button
for 2. seconds. The parking lights will flash (4) times. The siren or horn
will chirp (4) times. The unit is no longer programmed to start
automatically.

OPERATION
H. SHUT-DOWN INPUT FOR REMOTE STARTER:
If any of the following conditions exist while the system is operating mode
the engine will not start or will shut down immediately:
1. The hood is opened.
2. The brake pedal is pressed.
3. The emergency is released (for tandard Transmission Vehicles)
4. Engine is over-revved. (Tachometer Checki g Type only)
5. The pre-programmed run time (5 /10 / 20 / 30 minutes) has elapsed.
6. Press the butto twice on the remote transmitter in Remote Start
Mode.
7. You move the optional remote starter enable toggle switch to OFF
position. (If installed)
8. If the engine did not start after (3) unsuccessful attempts.
I. DISABLING THE REMOTE START SYSTEM: (If installed)
This feature allows your systems remote starter to be temporarily disabled
to prevent the vehicle from being remote started accidentally. This feature
is useful if the vehicle is being serviced or stored in an enclosed area. To
disable the remote starter, move the optional remote start enable toggle
switch to the OFF position.

REMOTE CONTROL OPERATIONS
Basic functions:
Lock Button #1
Press this button (1) tim , the horn/siren will chirp (1) tim , the
parking lights will flash and remain on for 10 seconds and the doors
will Lock.
Unlock Button #2
Press this button (1) tim , the horn/siren will chirp (2) tim s, the
parking lights will flash (2) tim s, the doors will Unlock and the
dome light (if connected) and Parking lights will remain on for 30
seconds.
Trunk Button #3
Press and hold this button for (2) s conds, to Remotel open the
trunk.
Start Button #4
Press this button (2) tim s, within 3 seconds, to remote start the
vehicle, then press this button again (2) tim s, within 3 seconds will
shut the engine off when in remote start mode.
