Programming
General
The ironer with feeder and length folder or with connected cross
folder and stacker allows the user to create their own programs
for various linen types and to adapt some machine parameters to
create the optimal results in ironing and folding. In total 20 pro-
grams are available, in which temperature, ironing speed and
folding method can be modified. There is also Program 0 availa-
ble which does not get saved into the machine memory. Its pur-
pose is to facilitate quick creation of a one time program (Refer
to "Installation/Operation/Maintenance" manual for additional in-
formation).
Operation Modes of the Length Folder
The folder can work in 3 modes:
FOLDING TO THE SPECIFIED LENGTH OF FOLDS
If a non-zero length of the fold is entered, the machine switches
automatically to the mode of folding by an entered fold. Without
considering the total length, the machine folds the linen to a firm-
ly entered X fold (X being the legnth of fold entered, e.g., 40
cm).
The display will read "in the operation mode" for example:
P 1 172/170 C front
Fold:35cm 4.2m/min
•„P 1“ is program number
•„172/170C“ is real/required temperature
•„front“ in order to balance load to the front
•„Fold:35cm“ is entered length of fold
•„4.2m/min“ is ironing speed
Figure 1
FOLDING BY THE PROGRAMMED NUMBER OF
FOLDS
If the entered fold length is 0 cm and non-zero number of folds,
the machine will automatically switch to the mode of folding by
entered number of folds. The fold length is, in this case, automat-
ically calculated by programmed length of linen.
This mode is suitable for tablecloth folding, because it provides
the middle fold right in the tablecloth center. When entering the
number of folds, you must enter the number of parts the linen
will be folded into, not the number of real folds. For example,
when folding by quarters, the number 4 must be entered which is
the number of parts the linen will be folded into even though
there are 3 real folds. Refer to Figure 2 . Because the accuracy of
measuring the linen length is limited, the folds are always count-
ed in centimeters, and the linen is stretched during ironing, etc.,
the result of folding may not always correspond to Figure 2 .
If the last fold is longer than the previous folds, it is necessary to
set a higher value for the linen length (for example, set 211, 212,
or 213 rather than 210 cm), and if the last fold is shorter, it is nec-
essary to set a lower value for the linen length. Check that the re-
sult is corresponding to Figure 2 , so that the length of the last
fold is the same as the others. Reset the linen length values as
needed until the linen folds correctly.
The display will read "in the operation mode" for example:
P12 168/170 C back
6s/210cm 5.2m/min
•„P12“ is program number
•„168/170C“ is real / required temperature
•„back“ for back linen exit
•„6s/“ is number of parts
•„210cm“ is length of linen
•„5.2m/min“ is ironing speed
Figure 2
WITHOUT FOLDING
If a part length is 0 cm and also a number of parts is 0, the linen
will exit without folding. The display will read:
P 0 170/170 C front
no folding 5.2m/min
•„P 0“ is program number
•„170/170C“ real/required temperature
•„front“ front linen exit
•„no folding“ ironing without folding
•„5.2m/min“ is ironing speed

Operation Modes of the Cross Folder
The cross folder can operate in two modes:
NORMAL FOLD
In this mode the folder can execute 1 – 3 folds, while the linen is
always folded in half of its length, refer to Figure 4 .
The display will read, for example:
P 1 168/170 C back
S:36cm NS:3/10 5.6mt
•„S:36cm“ is entered length of fold
•„NS:3/10“ is number of normal cross folds/quantity of linen

FRENCH FOLD
In this mode the folder executes 3 folds: first, the linen is folded
in half; then, in thirds; and finally, in half again. The result is that
edges of the linen are hidden inside, refer to Figure 5 .
The display will read, for example:
P 1 168/170 C back
S:36cm FS:3/10 5.6mt
•„FS:3/10“ is number of French cross folds/quantity of linen
in the stack

Figure 5
Stacker
The stacker automatically counts the quantity or pieces of linen in
the stack. After the set quantity is reached, it drives the stack of
linen out. If the height of the stack exceeds the maximum limit,
the linen is driven out before the set quantity of linen is reached.
Set quantity is displayed, for example:
P 1 168/170 C back
S:36cm NS:3/10 5.6mt
•„NS:3/10“ is number of normal cross folds/quantity of linen
in the stack (10 pieces)

Table 1
2. Speed value in range 150 – 800 cm/min:
Input: [ cm/min ]
Machine speed:
The machine executes automatic correction of the speed ac-
cording to temperature changes. If the temperature decreases,
the motion of the roller slows down to achieve quality ironing
and to prevent temperature decrease. If the temperature in-
creases, the motion of the roller speeds up. For this reason the
speed value on display in the operation mode will be mostly
different than preprogrammed value.
3. Value of the fold length in range 25 – 50 cm:
Input: [ cm ]
Fold length:
Enter a zero fold length for the folding mode with a constant
number of folds or without folding. When entering a non-zero
value, in folding mode with a constant fold width, the param-
eters 4 and 5 will be skipped.
4. Number of folds in range 0 – 9:
Number of parts:
Enter zero number of folds for the mode without folding. In
this case, all following parameters will be skipped.
5. Value of the linen length in range 50 – 999 cm:
Input: [ cm ]
Length of linen:
The following parameters of the program will be displayed
only when the cross folder or stacker are connected:
6. Number of cross folds in range 1 – 3:
[ ]
Cross folds (0-3):
When entering a value less than 3, the following parameter
will be skipped.
7. Type of cross fold:
(French=0, normal=1)
Kind of folding:
Select normal or French cross fold.
8. Quantity of linen in the stack in range 1 – 99:
[Sheets] Stack height (1-99):
Confirm every value by pressing the " I " key. The invalid or
wrong value can be erased by pressing the " E " key. For en-
tered values which are out of the range, the display will read
"NOT in range", and the valid range values. After that you
can enter a correct value again. After all values are entered,
the display again asks for a program number in which the en-
tered values will be stored:
Choose the number.
Save as program No:
and after the program is correctly stored:
The program was saved succesfully.
COPYING PROGRAMS
The procedure for copying programs is the same as the program
editing. Choose a program number you want to copy, go through
all settings (and modify all needed parameters), and enter a new
program number in which you wish to store the parameters:
Choose the number.
Save as program No:
Store by pressing the " I " key. Now, continue editing another
program or go back to the main menu by pressing the " P " key.

Factory Setting
Description of Factory Parameters Set-
ting
WARNING
THESE PARAMETERS ARE PRESET IN PRODUC-
TION PLANT AND THERE IS GENERALLY NO NEED
TO CHANGE THEM. INCORRECT SETTING CAN
CAUSE DEFECT IN MACHINE FUNCTIONS.
C164
If certain linen types are being ironed most frequently (for exam-
ple, bed sheets or tablecloths), parameters can be adjusted to ach-
ieve better folding results. To access the factory settings, press
the "2" key from the main menu after starting the machine:
1: Start Ironing
2: Machine Settings
Factory settings are password protected. After pressing the key "
K " key (refer to Figure 6 ), the request for password is dis-
played:
Protected Menus.
Enter code:
To leave this selection, press the " P " key.
Now enter the password „3820“ and confirm by pressing the " I "
key. The display will read:
P R I M U S
Factory Settings
Now set the individual parameters:
1. Length of impulse:
[Input: 0.001 mm ]
Pulse length:
It is not advisable to change this parameter. It affects meas-
urement of the fold length.
2. Delay of clamps
[Input: x10ms ]
Clamps delay:
It defines the time period between the moment of pressing the
linen on the feeding table by pad rollers, and opening the
clamps. Suitable time period is 250-400 ms, which is dis-
played as value 25-40.
3. Setting first fold:
[Input: pulses ]
Table distance:
It defines the length of the first fold, or alignment of the front
edge of linen with other folds. If the first fold is longer than
the others (for example, the front edge of linen sticks out over
the other folds after folding) it is necessary to decrease the
value of this parameter. If the first fold is shorter than the oth-
ers (for example, the front edge of linen does not reach the
length of other folds after folding) it is necessary to increase
the value of this parameter.
4. Correction after measuring the length
[Input: pulses ]
Length correct.:
Due to different speeds of the feeding table, pressure roller,
and ironing rollers, linen length measuring may be inaccurate,
which causes an inaccurate finishing of the folding (the last
fold is not in the middle when folding with constant width of
the fold, or it has different length than others when folding
with a constant number of folds). It is possible to eliminate
this inaccuracy by adjusting the setting of this parameter for
the most frequently used kind of linen. Therefore, if for exam-
ple the last fold is too long, it is necessary to decrease the val-
ue of this parameter or if for example the last fold is too short-
er, it is necessary to increase the value of this parametr.
5. Speed factor of the folding table drive:
[Input: i factor ]
Motor 2:
It defines the ratio of the folding table belt's speed to the iron-
ing belt's speed. Higher value means higher speed of the fold-
ing table.
6. Type of heating:
[1:St/2:Gas/3:Elec]
Heating system:
This parameter defines the type of heating. Do not change this
parameter.
7. Reducing the back fold:
[Input: pulses ]
Rear fold cor.:

13 Part No. D1607ENR1

Entering a non-zero value causes consecutive reduction of
the back fold and correction of inaccuracy of folding. Refer
to Figure 8 .
8. Reducing the folds:
[Input: pulses]
Fold decrease:
A Without correction
B With correction
Figure 9
Entering a non-zero value causes consecutive reduction of the
fold length and correction of inaccuracy of folding. Refer to Fig-
ure 9 .
9. Time period of the back stroke:
[Input: seconds]
Reverse operation:
It defines the time period of the ironer back stroke after press-
ing the key for the back stroke. Following parameters are dis-
played only when connecting the cross folder and stacker.
10. Speed of the cross folder belts
[Input: cm/min ]
Machine speed:
Motion speed of the cross folder inner belts. It is not recom-
mended to change this value, as incorrect values cause inac-
curate cross folding.
11. Time for evaluation of linen "askew":
[Input:max 2 digits]
Max.askew ln.time:
1. Linen
2. Sensor
Figure 10
If the linen comes to the cross folder table askew, it will not be
folded and goes behind the cross folder. This is evaluated as the
time period between contact of the left and right sensor above the
table, refer to Figure 10 . If this period is longer than the set pa-
rameter, the linen will be evaluated as "askew" and it will not be
folded.
12. Correction of measuring the length by the cross folder:
[Input:max 2 digits]
CF length corr.:
Parameter serves for measuring the length of linen in the
cross folder. It is not recommended to change it. Incorrect val-
ue causes inaccurate cross folding.
13. Distance for second fold:
[Input:max 2 digits]
2nd cross fold:
It definesh the moment of the second cross fold. The higher
the value, the later the second fold will be done. Using this
parameter it is possible to set the second fold exactly in the
middle for the most often used type of linen. This parameter
involves only normal fold, because French fold is done in one
third, not in the half of linen. If only two folds are done, then
a different parameter will be used instead of this one. Refer to
item 15.
14. Distance for third fold:
[Input:max 2 digits]
3rd cross fold:
It defines the moment of the third cross fold. The higher the
value, the later the third fold will be done and vice versa. Us-
ing this parameter it is possible to set the third fold exactly in
the middle for the most often used kind of linen.
15. Distance when doing 2 folds:
[Input:max 2 digits]
2nd fold (2 only):
It defines the moment of the second cross fold if only 2 folds
are done. The higher the value, the later the second fold will
be done and vice versa. Using this parameter it is possible to
set the second fold exactly in the middle for the most often
used kind of linen. If 3 folds are done, this parameter is not
used.
16. Time of the stacker conveyer running
[Input: seconds]
Conveyor time:
The running time of the stacker driving out linen onto the
conveyer. It is recommended to set the time so that the stack
of driven out linen is stopped by the sensor at the end of con-
veyer, causing the acoustic signal to sound. At this time it is
also possible to set how many stacks of linen can be on the
conveyer at the same time. The longer the time period, fewer
stacks can be on the conveyer and vice versa.
