INTRODUCTION
This manua has been produced to he p you enjoy the use of your boat in comp ete safety. It
contains detai s of the boat, the equipment supp ied or fitted, its systems and information about
their use. Read it carefu y and fami iarize yourse f with the boat before using it. Even when your
boat is rated for them, the sea and wind conditions corresponding to design categories A, B and C
vary from strong ga es to severe conditions, with risks of abnorma waves or gusts, and are
therefore dangerous conditions, where on y a trained, experienced crew, in good condition,
hand ing a we -maintained boat, can sai in a satisfactory manner.
Ensure that forecast wind and sea conditions correspond to the design category of your boat, and
that you and your crew are capab e of hand ing the boat in these conditions.
This Owner's Manua is not a course in sai ing safety or seamanship. If this is your first boat, or
your are changing to a type of boat you are unfami iar with, for your convenience and safety, make
sure you gain experience hand ing and using it before taking command. Your agent, your nationa
sai ing or cruising federation or your yacht c ub wi be happy to give you information about sai ing
schoo s or qua ified instructors in your area.
This Owner's Manua is not a detai ed maintenance or repair guide. In the event of prob ems,
consu t the boatbui der or their representative.

accessories. Modifications that cou d affect the safety characteristics of the boat must be assessed,

1. DESIGN CATEGORY OF YACHT
Your FEELING 39 comes under the OCEAN-GOING design category (category A).
In norma conditions of use, your boat is designed for sai ing with effective wave heights up to 7 m
and winds of Beaufort Force 10 or ess, and to withstand the severest conditions.
This sai ing capabi ity is equa y dependent on the ski s of the crew, their physica capacities, the
maintenance of the boat and its equipment.
So always take are before putting to sea.

3. ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
The boat is fitted with two separate circuits: the first is a 12 V dc circuit, the source for which is a set
of AUXILIARY batteries, a set of ENGINE batteries, and a CHARGER connected to a shore 22 V
supp y; the main e ements it supp ies are identified on page 57
The second is a 220 V ac circuit; the main e ements this supp ies are identified on page 61
3.1. Safety and operating instru tions for the 12V ele tri al system
WARNING
A ways:
- Check the condition of the batteries (charge and e ectro yte eve ) and the charging
system before putting to sea.
- Disconnect and remove batteries for wintering.
- Do not et battery vo tage drop be ow 10·5 V during wintering.
- Carry spare amps for a navigation ights and interior ighting. Respect power ratings,
particu ar y for navigation ights.
- Check operation of the navigationa instruments.
- Check operation of navigation ights before night sai ings
Never:
- Work on an e ectrica insta ation that is ive.
- Make any modification to an insta ation and the re evant diagrams, un ess it is carried
out by an e ectrician qua ified in marine e ectrics.
- Change or modify the breaking capacity of over oad protection devices.
- Rep ace e ectrica apparatus or equipment with units exceeding the rated capacity
without uprating wiring and protection.
- Leave the boat unattended when the e ectrica insta ation is powered, with the
exception when app icab e of the automatic bi ge pump and the fire or theft protection
circuits.
If a fuse or circuit-breaker b ows continua y, a specia ist must be consu ted to determine the
origin of the short-circuit.

3.2 Batteries
The battery capacity has been designed to meet the power requirements of the on-board
accessories. To avoid any prob ems, it is necessary to keep a c ose eye on the maintenance and
correct charging of the batteries.

NOTE
- When insta ing new e ectrica app iances, take care that the overa consumption of these
app iances remains within the capacity of your batteries.
- A ways disconnect the -ve battery termina before the +ve battery termina
- Never a ow a conductive object (too s, etc…) to bridge the two battery termina s
- When hand ing batteries, keep them horizonta to avoid spi age of e ectro yte. Wear
g oves and protective c othing that wi prevent any risk of contact with e ectro yte in the
event of a eak.
- In the event of e ectro yte sp ashes, rinse the affected part of the body copious y and
consu t a doctor.

3.3 E ectric wind ass
NOTE
It is essentia to run the engine with the thrott e s ight y open when using the e ectric winch.
3.4. 220 Volts Installation
3.5. Insta ing new equipment
Since the 1st January 1996, e ectrica equipment is subject to the European "e ectromagnetic
compatibi ity" directive (Ref 89/336/CEE). Hence it is necessary to insta new equipment
meeting this standard and bearing the CE mark. Equipment must a so be supp ied with a
comp iance certificate and instructions for use.
In the case of 220 V insta ations, use on y doub e-insu ated or earthed equipment. When such
equipment is being insta ed, respect the fitting instructions (conductor size, protection).
To avoid maintenance prob ems, be sure to mark in the manua and modifications that may be
made to the e ectrica diagram.
DANGER
The on-board 220 V insta ation is protected by a circuit breaker and fitted with a residua
current device. The wiring of additiona 220 or 110 V on-board accessories must be carried out
by professiona s, with uprating of the master circuit-breaker if necessary.

Your boat is not supp ied with a shore/boat supp y cab e or a ma e p ug for the shore
out et. The cab e used must be suitab e for outdoor use. Its cross-sectiona area must be
adjusted according to its ength and the rating of the main circuit-breaker (see
e ectrica diagram). The p ug must be suitab e for the fema e socket on the shore (if
necessary, seek the advice of a professiona . It shou d be as c ose as possib e to the IP
67 / IEC529 type.
- Switch off the shore supp y at the on-board iso ator before connecting or
disconnecting the shore/boat supp y cab e.
- Connect the shore/boat supp y cab e at the boat end before connecting it to
the shore out et

4. GAS INSTALLATION (ISO 10239 standards)
4.1 Operating advice
- Read the instructions for the cooker and regu ator carefu y.
- Ensure that the gas cy inder and regu ator are in accordance with the requirements of the
cooker (f ow rate, pressure, type of gas).
- Ensure that the gas cy inder comp ies with the regu ations in force in the country where it
is being used.
- App iances burning fue use up the oxygen in the cabin and re ease combustion products
into the boat. Venti ation is required when app iances are a ight. Open the coachroof ports
whi e you are cooking.
- Do not obstruct quick access to the e ements of the gas insta ation (cy inder ocker, shut-
off va ve).

- Never eave the boat unattended when gas app iances are a ight.
- C ose a va ves in the circuit when the boat is eft empty (shut-off va ve, regu ator va ve),
even if the cy inder is considered to be empty.
- After the boat has been shut up, never smoke when going be ow, and ensure that there is
no sme of gas.
- If you sme gas, c ose the circuit va ves and the cooker taps, venti ate the boat, and find
the eak before using the insta ation again.
WARNING
In the event of an emergency, the circuit va ves must be c osed immediate y.

4.2 Checking the system
- The gas system must be tested periodica y:

Open the cooker supp y and regu ator va ves.
Check a connections are gas-tight using a eak detector or by app ying soapy water.
ATTENTION!
Do not use so utions containing ammonia.
DANGER!
Never use a naked ight to ook for eaks.
Repairs and modifications to the system shou d be carried out by a qua ified person.

- checked regu ar y, at east once a year,
- rep aced if the expiry date marked on the hose is passed,
- rep aced five years after the date of manufacture that may be marked on them,
- rep aced in the event of deterioration.
4.3. Changing the gas cy inder

- Do not smoke nor use a naked ight during rep acement of the gas cy inder.

Fresh water is supp ied to the sink and washbasins by an e ectric pump. A fi ter is insta ed

Hot water is produced by a water-heater connected to the engine coo ing circuit and the

6.4. Operation of the sea toi ets
- Open the sea water in et seacock.
- Open the bow emptying seacock.
- Set the ever to the “FLUSH” position.
- Operate the pump.
- To empty the bow and avoid any water s opping when hee ing, set the ever to the
"DRY BOWL" position.
- Operate the pump unti the bow is dry.
- Repeat these f ushing / emptying operations as many times as is necessary to ensure
comp ete emptying of the pipes.
- When toi ets are not being used, set the ever to the "DRY BOWL" position, or
the "CLEF" position for certain mode s.

7. FLOODING
Boat f ooding risks:
- Before putting to sea, a ways check that portho es, deck hatches and any other openings
that cou d a ow f ooding are shut.
- When under sai , c ose a seacocks, except the engine water intake.
- Periodica y check:
- Skin fittings, seacocks and pipes are watertight
- Proper emptying of the cockpit drains
- Watertightness of the stern g and.
WARNING!
Cockpit ocker ids must be fastened shut before putting to sea. This is particu ar y important
for the ockers representing a major f ooding risk
8. FIRE PROTECTION
8.1. Insta ation
- Fire extinguishers are subject to nationa regu ations, and for this reason they are not
supp ied with your boat.
- We recommend you to equip your boat with fire extinguishers meeting the ISO 9094-1
standard, with the fo owing specifications:
a) Minimum capacity per extinguisher: 5A/34B,
b) Minimum combined extinguisher capacity: 10A/68B,
c) 1 extinguisher within:
- 1 m (for boats < 10 m) or 2 m (for boats > 10 m) of the cockpit
- 2 m of the extinguisher opening for dowsing the engine,
d) 1 extinguisher within 2 m of the cooker,
e) 1 not more than 5 m from the berths,
f) CO2 extinguishers may be p aced in accommodation areas on y where f ammab e
iquids are present (e.g. ga ey) or where there is powered e ectrica equipment. There
must not be more than one CO2 extinguisher per area at risk, and its maximum
capacity must not exceed 2 kg.

bear the same markings and be technica y equiva ent.

8.2. Safety instructions

It is the responsibi ity of the owner / captain to:
- Have fire-fighting equipment checked in accordance with the stipu ations of the bui der
and the regu ations in your country.
- Rep ace fire-fighting equipment if it has expired or been discharged, by extinguishers of
equa or greater capacity.

9 ENGINE
Regu ar maintenance must be carried out in accordance with the engineer's recommendations.
Read carefu y the operating and maintenance instructions for the engine that goes with your boat.
Do not hesitate to consu t your agent or a qua ified professiona .
In particu ar, fo ow the instructions for wintering.
In the absence of other instructions, proceed as fo ows:
- C ose the engine in et sea-cock,
- Disconnect the pipe from the engine water intake seacock,
- Drain the sea-water circuit,
- P ace the pipe into a drum of -25° anti-freeze coo ant,
- Run the engine unti the f uid comes out of the exhaust,
- At the end of this operation, re-connect the pipe to the seacock,
- Attach a notice to the e ectrica pane and the battery iso ator to the effect that the
engine water intake seacock is c osed.

- After first aunching and tensioning of rigging, check the a ignment of the prope er shaft

- Ensure that the coo ing circuit water intake seacock is open, and that water is coming out
of the engine exhaust.

On subsequent aunches, a brief check of prope er fixing can be made. Incorrect operation of

9.2. Exhaust gas emission
DANGER!
Interna combustion engines produce carbon monoxide. Pro onged exposure to exhaust gasses
can have serious consequences, and may even cause death.

when there are swimmers near the boat.
- Whenever possib e, the engine must be stopped for any engine maintenance or checking
operations. Otherwise, specia attention must be paid to moving parts (prope er shafts,
be ts, etc.) in order to avoid any risk of injury.

The FEELING 39 is fitted with a whee he m and rudder, with a mechanica transmission
system. The inks to the rudder are via a crank arm and a transmission bar.

12. NAVIGATION
WARNING
- In a situations, suit the speed of your boat to the surrounding conditions and a ways
maintain a safety margin. Pay particu ar attention to:
The state of the sea, currents, the strength of the wind.

- You must fit your boat with grab ines. Fixing points are provided on the deck. Refer to your

- The stabi ity of your boat was designed taking into account the shipyard cata ogue options.
Any a teration to on-board weight distribution (for examp e: adding radar, changing the
engine, etc...) can affect the stabi ity, trim and performance of your boat.
- Towing a boat causes a significant extra strain that wi have an unfavorab e effect on the
stabi ity of your boat.

13. LIGHTNING PROTECTION
Your boat is protected against ightning. The rigging is e ectrica y connected to earth. Nonethe ess,
for your safety, it is necessary to respect certain precautions.
13.1. Maintenance
If the boat has been struck by ightning:
- The protection insta ation must be inspected to detect physica damage and check the
integrity of the device, as we as the continuity of the earthing.
- The compasses, e ectrica and e ectronic devices must be examined to ascertain if
damage or ca ibration changes have occurred.
13.2. Protection of peop e during a thunderstorm
WARNING
During a thunderstorm, it is preferab e to obey the fo owing instructions:
- Peop e shou d stay be ow as far as possib e.
- Peop e shou d stay out of the water and not et their arms or egs hang into the water.
- Whi st maintaining satisfactory contro of the boat and its sai ing, peop e shou d not
touch any part connected to a ightning protection insta ation, especia y not in such a
way as to form a ink between such parts.
- Personne shou d idea y avoid any contact with meta parts of the rigging, the spars,
deck fittings and the ife ines.
14. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND SAFETY
We recommend keeping yourse f informed about oca regu ations concerning respect for the
environment, and to obey internationa regu ations against po ution in the marine environment
(MARPOL) as we as codes of good practice.
ATTENTION!
- Most c eaning products, engine oi s and hydrocarbons are ike y to affect the environment, so they
shou d be discharged in authorized ocations (check with the Harbour Master's office).
- Certain products can ikewise represent a risk for your own and others’ safety, which is why it is
important to read and obey the instructions for use.
- Substances used must be abe ed and stored in an appropriate, venti ated p ace in the boat.

15. SAFETY FACILITIES
There is no harmonization of ob igatory safety equipment across the European Community. You
shou d seek information about nationa requirements for CE-marked boats.
In France, yachts bearing the CE mark must carry the faci ities and safety equipment stipu ated for
the category of sai ing chosen by the yachtsman within the fo owing imits:

Your boat must be equipped with a ife-raft, read its instruction manua carefu y. The crew shou d
be fami iarized with the use of a safety equipment (harnesses, f ares, ife-raft, etc...). Training
sessions are organized regu ar y by sai ing schoo s and c ubs.
16. HANDLING, TRANSPORTING, HAULOUT
When ifting, ensure s ings are positioned correct y and do not fou either the prope er, prope er
shaft or a fragi e detector.
Lifting frames shou d be wide enough, or fitted with spreaders to avoid exerting excessive atera
pressure on the rubbing band.
Avoid etting s ings fou the ife ines. During transport or hau out, the kee shou d be in proper
contact with its support, and shou d be taking most of the boat's weight.
Crad e pads must be positioned against structura e ements and exert on y the pressure necessary for
the boat's good ba ance.
Whenever the boat is out of the water, use the opportunity to inspect the prope er, rudder, skin
fittings and sensors.

17. GUARANTEE
For the period stipu ated by aw, we guarantee against a atent defects which wou d render our
products unseaworthy. Any modification to the products, in particu ar the addition of parts other
than origina parts, inva idates the guarantee.
This guarantee enab es the purchaser to obtain repair or rep acement of a part acknow edged as
defective, as ong as the user has carried out the norma and appropriate maintenance required. Our
guarantee does not cover transport or hand ing costs, nor any other osses, in particu ar re ating to
immobi ization of the yacht.
Legal Guarantee
The boatbui der must make the ega guarantee defined in Artic es 7 & 8 of Law no. 6765 of
3/1/67 covering boats, expressed thus:
Artic e 7: The boatbui der is responsib e for atent defects in the boat, even if the customer has
accepted it without reservation.
Artic e 8: Action under guarantee against the boatbui der is imited to a period of one year. For
atent defects, this period on y commences once the defect is discovered.
Contra tual guarantee
Without prejudice to the ega guarantees, the owner, whether this is the company
Or benefits on a persona basis from a one-year guarantee, with effect from the date of
fina acceptance of the boat, against, among others, any defect in construction or materia s.
The guarantee covers the who e of the boat, the materia s and equipment fitted aboard the boat by
the boatbui der, its supp iers and subcontractors, which have been invoiced by the boatbui der.

It is imited to the repair or rep acement of parts or equipment acknow edged as being defective for
use, without the bui der’s being iab e for the expenses or consequences of such defect.
The guarantee is withdrawn and the bui der re eased from its iabi ity if:
The equipment has been converted, modified or repaired other than by the boatbui der, without the
bui der’s prior consent.
A- The use is not in accordance with the technica specifications,
B- The damage is the resu t of a sea risk, neg igence, poor maintenance.
The purchaser can on y benefit from the guarantee if he notifies the bui der by Registered Mai with
Advice of De ivery, within a month from discovery of the defect.
Disputes
Before taking any ega action, the bui der and the purchaser undertake to seek an amicab e
so ution through the mediation of a person chosen by mutua agreement between the two parties.
This person must give their opinion within one month
Assignment of jurisdi tion
Any itigation arising in the matter of the interpretation or app ication of this contract wi come
exc usive y under the competence of the courts of the headquarters of the bui der, under French aw,
even in the event of guarantee or mu tip e counse s.
