The AWU50G-Wis a802.11b/g wireless Network Adapter that is used toimplementthe
USB2.0 interface on Notebook computers.It delivers incomparable wireless performance for
your device.As avalue added Wi-Fi USB2.0 card,it provides 64/128/256 WEP,WPA/WPA-

4. Install the driver
Step1 Insert the installation CDintoyour CD-ROM driver, Double click the icon
tostart setup.
Step2 Choose Iaccept the terms of the license agreement and click next to go
on.

Step3 Choose Ralink Configuration Tool and click next to go on.

Step6 Click Finish to end the setup.

6. Make infrastructure connection
Double click the icon in red circle
You will see:
You can click the button Rescan to find which AP is in range, theywillshowon
the window.Choice one you want to connect, and click the button connect tofinish
the connection. An infrastructure connection iscompleted.

Note:please choose correctchannelsetting up to your law.For example, ch13
is permitted inyour country,and you setyour router at ch13,whileyou choose ch1-
ch11 (default setting), you will never find the AP. So you should haveto choose ch1-
ch13 in Advanced page as below.

8.1 Make an Ad-Hoc SSID
Step1 Clickthe button Add to makethe Ad-Hoc SSID:
Step2 Choose the SSID and Network Type as blew,and click OK to go on.
Step3 Clilk the PROF1 in the window,and you can see the informationofAd-Hoc SSID.

Note:To make an Ad-Hoc mode link, weshould choice the same channel. Its
static IP address should be inthe same subnet,and the SSID should be the same

nad hoc network A network composed solelyof stations within mutual communication range
of each other via the wireless medium(WM).
naccess point (AP) Any entitythathas station functionalityand provides access tothe
distribution ser-vices, via the wireless medium (WM)for associated stations.
nStation (STA) Anydevice thatcontains an IEEE 802.11 conformantmedium access control
(MAC) and physical layer (PHY) interface to thewireless medium(WM).
nRTS (Request To Send) Theframetype used todeign the RTS-CTS clearing exchange.
RTS framesare used when theframe that will be transmitted is larger than the RTS
threshold.
nCTS (Clear To Send) The frametype used toacknowledgereceipt of aRequest to Send
and the second componentused in the RTS-CTS clearing exchange used to prevent
interference fromhidden nodes.
nWEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) The optional cryptographic confidentialityalgorithm
specifiedbyIEEE 802.11 used toprovide dataconfidentialitythat is subjectivelyequivalent
tothe confidentialityofawiredlocal area network (LAN)mediumthatdoes not employ
cryptographic techniquesto enhance privacy.
nauthentication Theservice used toestablish the identityofone station as amember of the
set ofstations authorized to associate with another station.
nWPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) Aspecification ofstandards-based,interoperable security
enhancementsthat strongly increase the level ofdataprotection and access control for
existingand future wireless LAN systems.
