The DE-series uses a proprietary high
efficiency, high output single magnet
point-source Duplex®speaker “engine”
mounted in a 500 Hz bass horn cabinet. This
unique combination virtually eliminates the
interference and cancellation you get from
adjacent devices in traditional two-way speaker
systems, while allowing you to steer most of
the damaging low frequency energy away from
the performance areas. Altec’s new LF215-4A
dual 15”/380mm subwoofer system provides
full-range music playback ability.
The Altec Lansing DE6412 and DE9412 provide
you with the ability to reproduce both music
and the spoken word…at a price point that allows you to profitably include
it in the majority of your performance venues.

The heart of Altec’s DE6412
and DE9412 is the unique
point-source 12”/300mm
Duplex®engine component.
The high frequency diaphragm
is on the back of the magnet
structure, and the low
frequency voice coil is on the
front. This means that all
of the acoustic energy is
generated in a 1.5” space,
making it a true point-source
speaker.

As this polar chart shows, when the 12”/380mm Duplex®engine component is loaded in a bass
horn cabinet, you achieve control of the low frequency energy in the vertical and horizontal plane
down to 500Hz. This low frequency control allows you to maximize gain before feedback, and
