8. Troubleshooting Guide
We have carefully te ted and found no problem in the upplied
AC301-201. However, we would like to offer ugge tion for the following:
8.1 LED is Not Red
There i a power LED next to the RJ-45 connector on the AC301-201. The
LED i vi ible through the eam of the pla tic enclo ure.
Cau e 1: There i no power.
Solution:
Verify the AC301-201 i connected directly to the MultiTa ker
and that the MultiTa ker enclo ure ha power and i turned
on. If LED i till not on, ee Cau e 2.
Cau e 2: The wrong cable i being u ed.
Solution:
If there i a cable between the AC301-201 and the
MultiTa ker, verify pin 9 of the cable ha continuity
throughout the cable. If the LED i till not on, ee Cau e 3.
Cau e 3: The AC301-201 i not connected to a MultiTa ker.
Solution:
If the AC301-201 i not connected to a MultiTa ker, then the
external power adapter mu t be connected. Connect the power
adapter to the AC301-201. If the LED i till not on, ee
Cau e 4.
Cau e 4: The AC301-201 ha a problem.
Solution:
If there i till no power, the AC301-201 may require ervice.
Plea e, call ALTINEX at (714) 990-2300.
8.2 No Communication
Cau e 1: The device are incompatible.
Solution:
Connect the computer directly to the de tination device u ing
a tandard RS-232 cable. If the device communicate without
the AC301-201, the problem i with the cable or AC301-201;
ee Cau e 2.
Cau e 2: Cable connection are wrong.
Solution 1:
Verify the output of the AC301-201 i connected to the input
of the erial device.
Solution 2:
Verify that the Signal Pre ent LED on the AC301-201 i on and
red. If the LED i on and red, check the connection between
the computer and the AC301-201.
Solution 3:
If the LED on the AC301-201 i red, u e the DeviceIn taller a
de cribed in the in tallation ection. If the AC301-201 i een
on the network and the LED i on and red, and there i till no
