1. Precautions and Safety Warnings
Plea e read thi manual carefully before u ing your AC301-201. Keep thi
manual handy for future reference. The e afety in truction are to en ure
the long life of your AC301-201 and to prevent fire and hock hazard . Plea e
read them carefully and heed all warning .
1.1 General
•Qualified ALTINEX ervice per onnel or their authorized
repre entative mu t perform all ervice.
1.2 Installation Precautions
•To prevent fire or hock, do not expo e thi unit to water or moi ture.
Do not place the AC301-201 in direct unlight, near heater or
heat-radiating appliance , or near any liquid. Expo ure to direct
unlight, moke, or team can harm internal component .
•Handle the AC301-201 carefully. Dropping or jarring can cau e damage.
•Do not pull the cable that are attached to the AC301-201.
1.3 Cleaning
•Clean only with a dry cloth. Never u e trong detergent or olvent ,
uch a alcohol or thinner. Do not u e a wet cloth or water to clean the
unit. Do not open the unit to clean.
1.4 FCC Notice

ubject to the following two condition : (1) Thi device may not cau e
harmful interference, and (2) thi device mu t accept any interference
received, including interference that may cau e unde ired operation.

2. Installation Procedures
Step 1. Connect the AC301-201 directly to the 9-pin D- ub connector of the MultiTa ker enclo ure or other RS-232 erial controlled device. If connecting
through a cable and not directly to the MultiTa ker, make ure the cable ha a conductor for pin 9 or u e the external adapter.
Step 2. If controlling a device other than a MultiTa ker enclo ure, it i nece ary to connect the external power adapter to the DC power jack located on the
ide of the AC301-201. The LED hould be on and red when power i pre ent. The LED in ide the AC301-201 i located near the RJ-45 connector and
i vi ible through the eam in the enclo ure.
Step 3. Connect the RJ-45 connector on the oppo ite end of the AC301-201 to the LAN u ing a tandard UTP (CAT-5) type cable.
Step 4. The AC301-201 i now operational. The default IP i a igned by the LAN and u e port number 10001 for the TCP/IP connection.
Note: The IP can be pre et by ALTINEX at the time of purcha e. For be t re ult , have a fixed IP a igned by your IT department and then et by
ALTINEX prior to hipping. See Section 7.1 of the online manual for changing the configuration u ing the DeviceIn taller application or u e
the TELNET option below.
Step 5. Change the IP addre or baud rate u ing TELNET from a command prompt. The TELNET port i "9999".
A. At the command prompt enter "TELNET", the current IP, and port 9999. Example: "C:\> TELNET 192.168.1.155 9999"
B. Pre "Enter" when prompted to enter the etup mode.
C. Select the option to change, and at each prompt enter the new value or ju t pre "Enter" to leave unchanged.
Option "0 Server"................................ Change IP, ma k, and gateway. ( et IP 0.0.0.0 for DHCP)
Option "1 Channel 1" ......................... Change baud rate
Option "8 Exit without ave".............. Cancel change and exit etup mode
Option "9 Save and Exit".................... Save change and exit
The change may take a few econd to be recognized by the network.
