• Keep the oven door closed.
• Turn the oven off.
• Disconnect the power cord or

PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO
EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY
A. DO NOT attempt to operate this oven with door open since open door operation can result in harmful
exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to defeat or tamper with safety interlocks.
B. DO NOT place any object between oven front face and door to allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on
sealing surfaces.
C. DO NOT operate oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that oven door close properly and that there
is no damage to:
1. door (bent)
2. hinges and latches (broken or loosened)
3. door seals and sealing surfaces
D. Oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.
CAUTION
!
To avoid personal injury or property damage, observe the following:
1. Briskly stir or pour liquids before cooking with microwave energy to prevent spontaneous boiling or
eruption. Do not overheat. If air is not mixed into a liquid, liquid can erupt in oven or after removal from
oven.
2. Do not deep fat fry in the oven. Fat could overheat and be hazardous to handle.
3. Do not cook or reheat eggs in the shell or with an unbroken yolk using microwave energy. Pressure may
build up and erupt. Pierce yolk with fork or knife before cooking.
4. Pierce skin of potatoes, tomatoes and similar foods before cooking with microwave energy. When skin is
pierced, steam escapes easily.
5. Do not operate oven without load or food in the oven cavity.
6. Use only popcorn in packages designed and labeled for microwave use. Popping time varies depending on
oven wattage. Do not continue to heat after popping has stopped. Popcorn will scorch or burn. Do not
leave oven unattended.
7. Do not use regular cooking thermometers in the oven. Most cooking thermometers contain mercury and
may cause an electrical arc, malfunction or damage to the oven.
8. Do not heat baby bottles in oven.
9. Do not use metal utensils in oven.
10. Never use paper, plastic or other combustible materials that are not intended for cooking.
11. When cooking with paper, plastic or other combustible materials, follow manufacturer’s recommendations
on product use.
12. Do not use paper towels which contain nylon or other synthetic fibers. Heated synthetics could melt and
cause paper to ignite.
13. Do not heat sealed containers or plastic bags in oven. Food or liquid could expand quickly and cause
container or bag to break. Pierce or open container or bag before cooking.
14. To avoid pacemaker malfunction, consult physician or pacemaker manufacturer about the effects of
microwave energy on pacemaker.

Installation

Radio Interference
Microwave operation may cause
interference to radio, television, or a
similar oven. Reduce or eliminate
interference by doing the following:
• Clean door and sealing surfaces of
oven according to instructions in
the Care and Cleaning section.
• Place the radio or television as far
as possible from the oven.
• Use a properly installed antenna on
the radio or television to obtain
stronger signal reception.
Unpacking the Oven
• Inspect the oven for damage such as dents in door or dents inside the
oven cavity.
• Report any dents or breakage to source of purchase immediately. Do
not attempt to use the oven if it is damaged.
• Remove all materials from inside the oven.
• Once installed, remove protective plastic wrapper from outer case of
oven.
• If oven has been stored in extremely cold area, wait a few hours before
connecting the power.
Electrical requirements
This microwave oven is designed to operate on a standard
120V/60Hz household outlet. Be sure the circuit is at least
15A and the microwave oven is the only appliance on the
circuit. It is not designed for 50Hz or any circuit other than
a 120/60Hz circuit.
This appliance must be grounded. If an electrical short circuit occurs,
grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for
the electric current. The cord for this appliance has a grounding wire with a
groundingplug.
Microwave should be plugged in to a properly polarized and grounded,
3-prong electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter.
Keep the power cord dry and do not pinch or crush it in any way.
Consult a qualified electrician or servicer if grounding instructions
are not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to whether
the oven is properly grounded.
Oven placement
• Do not install the oven next to or above a source of heat,
such as a pizza oven or deep fat fryer. This could cause the
microwave oven to operate improperly and could shorten the
life of electrical parts.
• Do not block or obstruct the oven filter. Allow access for
cleaning.
• Install oven on level countertop surface.
• Allow at least 2 to 4" of clearance around the top of the
microwave. This allows proper air flow around the microwave
and cools electrical components.
• Allow at least 2" between back of microwave and a back
wall.

Display and Features
Cooking Display
DISPLAYS DESCRIPTION
READY READY displays when oven control will accept
entries.
00:00 Displays cooking time. If stage cooking is
programmed, total cooking time is displayed.
COOK LEVEL
COOK LEVEL displays while oven is operating.
The cooking level is displayed above as a number 1
through 9. If no number is displayed, the oven is
cooking at full power.
POWER POWER is displayed while the oven is generating
microwave energy during a cooking cycle.
Programming Display
DISPLAYS DESCRIPTION
P:0 Displays when oven is in programming mode for
single pad memory only.
OP: -- Displays when oven is in user option mode. User
options can then be set or specified.
P:--1Displays briefly when programming a specific
cooking stage. Number (1 through 4) indicates
the stage that is being programmed.
There are words in the
display that never
actually display.
The display is used for many
different models of microwaves.
Depending on the model, certain words
or symbols may never be highlighted or
become visible.
Pre Programmed Pads
Entry pads 1 through 8 are programmed by Amana for specific times and power levels. On each pad,
a label has been assigned, such as Pizza . Each pad corresponds to optimal times and power levels
for those foods. These times and power levels can be altered to suit individual preferences.
Four Stage Cooking
Each entry pad can be programmed to cook in up to four different stages. A stage is a specific time and
power setting. By programming different stages into an entry pad, the food can be defrosted and cooked with one
easy touch of a button. The microwave automatically shifts from one stage to another, increasing or decreasing the
power level.
Manual Time Entry
In addition to programmable pads, this microwave also accepts specific time entry by using the
TIME COOK pad. Using manual time entry does not affect the programmed buttons.
User Defined Options
This microwave has 6 different user options, ranging from volume control to programmable entry. Each
option can be easily accessed and stored. Each microwave can be custom tailored to specific preferences.

Utensil Recommendations
Utensil Check Test
Use the following test to verify your
cooking utensils are safe for microwave
use.
1. Place dish to be tested in
microwave.
2. Fill a glass measuring cup with one
cup of water and place it next to the
dish to be tested.
3. Close the microwave door and heat
on full power for one minute.
4. Check the temperature of the dish
and water:
• If dish remains cool and water is
hot, the dish is microwave safe.
• If dish is slightly warm, use only
for short term cooking.
• If the dish is hot and water is
cool, do not use the dish in the
microwave.
What Should I Consider in Cookware?

Never use cooking containers or covers with any metal content in your
microwave. This includes all metal and enameled metal cookware, foil, and
any metal-trimmed cookware or containers.
Cooking Hints
•Cover foods for faster, more even cooking.
Glass lids, plastic wrap, plate covers or other
paper products may be used. Do not seal but
allow for steam to vent during cooking.
•Reheat foods to a minimum internal temperature of 165°F. Food
should steam throughout, not just at the edges, and the bottom of the
dish should be hot.
•Pierce pouches, plastic wrap covers and any foods that have a
skin. This prevents an eruption in the oven and allows for expansion
and/or the escape of steam. Routine foods that should be pierced are
Potatoes, squash and tomatoes.
•Do not cook eggs in the shell or with membranes fully intact.
•Arrange foods carefully on cooking plates. For best results, foods
such as vegetables or casseroles should be arranged evenly around
the edge with slightly less in the center. The edges of the food items
should not overlap or overhang the rim of the container.
•Add moisture. Cover meats with gravy or au jus and moisten all dry
foods other than bread or pastry items.
•Place plates at the same level in oven, with space between all
cookware. Do not stack food or dishes in your oven.
•Stir your soup or tea. Air needs to be mixed in to liquids for proper
cooking. Any liquid should be vigorously stirred before cooking. This
also prevents eruption and allows for the escape of steam.

Using the Oven Control
Manual Time Entry
To cook food using a specific entered time and power level.
1. Open oven door and place food in oven. Close door.
•READY displays. Fan and light will turn on.
2. Press TIME COOK pad.
•READY and 0000 display.
• If pad does not work, open and close oven door and
try again.
3. Enter cooking time by using the numbered pads.
4. Press POWER LEVEL pad to change power level.
•COOK LEVEL displays with the power setting.
• If a number is not displayed with COOK LEVEL the
microwave is set to full power.
• Press a number pad to adjust power level to desired
setting.
5. Press START pad.
• Oven operates and time counts down.
•POWER, COOK LEVEL and cooking time display.
6. At end of cooking cycle oven beeps and shuts off.
Preprogrammed Pads
To cook food using pads preprogrammed with cooking sequences.
1. Open oven door and place food in oven. Close door.
•READY displays. Fan and light will turn on.
2. Press desired pad.
3. Oven begins to cook.
•POWER, COOK LEVEL and total cooking time
display.
• For additional cooking time, press preprogrammed
pad again while cooking is in progress. Cooking
cycle will start from the beginning.
4. At end of cooking cycle oven beeps and shuts off.
Interrupting
Operation
Open oven door or press

Canceling

Are there maximum and
minimum cooking times?
The microwave can be programmed
from 1 second to 60 minutes of total
cooking time.
I cant enter any cooking
time!
Open the microwave door and close it
again. The microwave keypad disables
shortly after the oven door is shut to
prevent accidental operation of an
empty oven. To increase the time delay
before the keyboard is disabled, see
User Options.

Programming Pads
To change the amount of time or the power level for a preset pad.
Pads 1 through 0 can be programmed for preset cooking cycles.
1. Open oven door.
•READY displays.
• If door is closed or STOP pad is pressed before programming is
complete, changes are discarded and microwave exits
programming mode.
2. Press and hold pad 1 for approximately 5 seconds.
• This begins programming mode.
• Microwave will beep and P:0 displays. Oven is in programming
mode.
3. Press pad to be reprogrammed.
•COOK LEVEL and cooking time display.
• A number displays with COOK LEVEL if it is less than full power.
4. Enter cooking time by using the number pads.
5. Press POWER LEVEL pad to change power level if desired.
• Use the number pads to change power level to a lower power
setting.
6. Press START pad to set new programming to the pad.
• If START is not pressed, changes will not be saved.
•P:0 displays
7. Press STOP pad or close oven door to exit programming mode.
Programming the Oven Control
Programming Multiple Stages
Stage cooking allows consecutive cooking cycles without interruption.
Four different cooking cycles can be programmed into a memory pad.
To use stage cooking:
1. Open oven door.
2. Press and hold pad 1 for approximately 5 seconds.
• Microwave beeps and P:0 displays. Oven is in programming mode.
3. Press pad to be reprogrammed with stage cooking.
•COOK LEVEL and cooking time display.
• A number displays with COOK LEVEL if it is less than full power.
4. Enter cooking time by using the number pads.
5. Press POWER LEVEL pad to change power level if desired.
• Use the number pads to change power level to a lower power
setting.
6. Press TIME COOK pad.
• Display briefly shows the pad number that is being programmed
and the stage number to the upper right.
• Display changes to cook time and power level for the next stage.
7. Enter cook time and power level as in steps 4 and 5.
• To enter another cooking stage for that pad, press TIME COOK pad
again.
• Up to four different stages can be programmed.
8. Press START pad to set new programming changes to the pad.
My changes werent saved.
If the door is closed or the STOP pad is
pressed before programming is
complete, changes are discarded and
microwave exits programming mode. To
save your programming changes, press
the START pad at the end of the
programming sequence.
What does cooking level 8
mean?
When the microwave is not running at
full power, a single digit is displayed
next to COOK LEVEL. This digit
represents a percentage of full power.
Level 8 would be 80%. Level 3 would
be 30%. If no number is displayed, the
microwave is at full power.
Can I add more time?
To add more time to a preprogrammed
cooking cycle, press the pad again to
restart the cooking sequence. To add
more time to a manual cooking cycle in
progress, simply press in the time
desired using the numbered pads and
press START. The newly entered time
will be displayed as remaining cooking
time.

Changing user options
Options such as beep volume and maximum cooking time can be changed
to suit individual preferences.
To change options:
1. Open oven door.
• If door is closed or STOP pad is pressed before programming is
complete, changes are discarded and microwave exits programming
mode.
2. Press and hold pad 2 for approximately 5 seconds.
• This begins options mode.
• Microwave will beep and 0P: displays. Microwave is now in user
option mode.
3. Press number pad that controls option to be changed.
• See table below for options.
• Current option will display.
4. Press number pad again to change the option.
• Each time pad is pressed, option will change.
• Match code displayed with code for desired option.
5. Press START pad to save changes.
• To change additional options, repeat steps 3 and 4.
• Changes appear after door is closed or STOP pad is pressed.

Replacing Oven Light
1. Disconnect electrical supply.
2. Remove screw holding panel to
side of the oven.
3. Gently remove panel door.
4. While wearing protective gloves,
turn light bulb counterclockwise to
remove.
5. Replace light bulb with 120-volt,
25-watt appliance bulb. Do not
over-tighten bulb or bulb cover.
Over-tightening may make bulb
difficult to remove.
6. Replace panel door before use.
7. Reconnect power supply.
Care and Cleaning
PART GENERAL DIRECTIONS
Oven interior Clean microwave interior with mild detergent in warm water using a soft sponge or cloth. Wring sponge to
remove excess water before wiping microwave. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or cleaners containing
ammonia. DO NOT use a citrus based cleaner. DO NOT use a water pressure type cleaning system. NEVER
pour water into the microwave oven bottom.
Control panel Open oven door to deactivate oven control panel. Clean with mild detergent in warm water using a soft sponge
or cloth. Wring sponge to remove excess water before wiping the control panel. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners
or cleaners containing ammonia.
Outside finish If present, remove plastic coating from outer case of oven.
Wash all glass with cloth dampened in soapy water. Rinse and polish with a dry cloth.
For stainless steel, use warm soapy water or a commercially available stainless steel cleaner designed for
kitchen appliance use. DO NOT use steel wool, abrasive powders or liquids, or a citrus based cleaner.
Damage to finish of outside of microwave due to improper cleaning is not covered by warranty.
Air intake filter Clean filter weekly to maintain proper airflow. Remove the filter to clean. Wash the filter in hot water and mild
detergent. Do not use the oven without a filter in place.

Cleaning Stainless Steel
Stainless steel appliances have been factory finished for high shine and
luster. To maintain this quality appearance:
DO USE:
• Warm soapy water for routine
cleaning on a cool microwave.
• Dry with soft, clean cloth.
• For heavy soil, ONLY a stainless
steel cleaner designed for
kitchen appliance use.
DO NOT USE:
• Abrasive powders or liquids
• Citrus based cleaners
• Ammonia
• Steel wool pads
• Abrasive cloths,
• Oven cleansers,
• Acidic or vinegar based cleaners
Citric Acid
To prevent damage to the
finish of your stainless
steel appliance, do not
allow mustard, tomato juice, marinara
sauce, or other citrus based sauces
or products to remain on stainless
steel surface. Citric acid permanently
discolors stainless steel.
Damage to stainless steel finish due to improper use of cleaning
products, or using non-recommended cleaning products, is not
covered under warranty. For Amana recommended products, call our
Consumer Affairs division at [phone].

Topic Possible Cause Solution
OPERATION
Appliance not working Power outage Make sure appliance is plugged in.
Verify that circuit breaker is not tripped.
Replace household fuse but do not change fuse capacity.
Oven not heating Place one cup cool water in oven and heat for one
minute. If water temperature does not rise, oven is not
operating correctly and a servicer should be called.
Oven does not accept entries when pad
is pressed. Programming error Open and close oven door. Press pad again.
Unplug and plug the microwave oven. Press pad again.
Oven light not working Loose bulb
Burnt out bulb Check for loose bulb. Tighten. Check for burnt out bulb. Replace if necessary with an
appliance bulb.
Oven malfunctions Programming error Unplug oven, wait for 1 minute, and plug in oven again.
Oven operates intermittently Clogged filter Check filter for obstructions.

Amana Appliances will repair or replace, including related labor, any part (f.o.b. Amana Iowa) which proves
defective as to workmanship or materials when carried into an Authorized Amana servicer.
Limited Warranty
Year two through five
After one year from the date of original retail purchase, Amana will repair or replace, including labor,
magnetron tube (f.o.b. Amana Iowa) when carried in to an authorized Amana servicer. The owner will be
responsible for paying all other costs including mileage, and transportation.
What is not covered by these
warranties
• Replacement of household fuses, resetting of
circuit breakers, or correction to household wiring
or plumbing.
• Normal product maintenance and cleaning,
including light bulbs.
• Products with original serial numbers removed,
altered, or not readily determined.
• Products purchased for commercial, industrial,
rental, or leased use.

a. Ne pas trop cuire les aliments. Surveiller
attentivement la cuisson si du papier, du plastique
ou tout autre matériau combustible est utilisé pour
faciliter la cuisson.
b. Enlever toute attache métallique servant à fermer
les sacs en plastique ou en papier avant de
placer le sac dans le four.
c. Si le feu prend dans le four, laisser la porte du
four fermée, éteindre le four et le débrancher ou
couper le courant au niveau du fusible ou du
disjoncteur.
d. Ne pas utiliser l’intérieur du four comme espace
de rangement. Ne pas laisser d’articles en papier,
de récipients, d’ustensiles de cuisson ni
d’aliments dans le four lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.
En cas dincendie
Si un incendie se déclare :
• Garder la porte du four fermée.
• Éteindre le four.
• Débrancher le cordon

Pour éviter tous dégâts matériels ou blessures, observer les consignes suivantes :
1. Pour éviter toute ébullition ou éruption spontanée, remuer vigoureusement ou verser les liquides avant de les
chauffer au four à micro-ondes. Ne pas trop chauffer. Si de l’air n’a pas été incorporé dans le liquide, celui-ci
peut déborder dans le four ou après en être retiré.
2. Ne pas faire de friture dans le four. La graisse pourrait surchauffer et devenir dangereuse à manipuler.
3. Les œufs ne doivent pas être chauffés ou réchauffés au four à micro-ondes dans leur coquille ou avec leur
jaune intact; cela pourrait provoquer une accumulation de pression et l’éclatement de l’œuf. Percer le jaune
avec une fourchette ou un couteau avant la cuisson.
4. Percer la peau des pommes de terre, tomates et aliments semblables avant de les cuire au four à micro-
ondes. Lorsque la peau est percée, la vapeur peut s’échapper uniformément.
5. Ne pas faire fonctionner l’appareil sans liquide ou nourriture à l’intérieur.
6. Pour faire du maïs soufflé, utiliser uniquement du maïs en paquet spécial micro-ondes (indiqué sur
l’étiquette). Le temps nécessaire pour faire éclater le maïs varie en fonction de la puissance du four. Ne pas
continuer à faire chauffer le maïs une fois qu’il a fini d’éclater car il peut brûler ou s’enflammer. Ne pas
laisser le four sans surveillance.
7. Ne pas utiliser de thermomètre de cuisson pour four traditionnel dans le four. La plupart des thermomètres
de cuisson contiennent du mercure qui peut causer des arcs électriques ou le mauvais fonctionnement du
four, ou encore endommager celui-ci.
8. Ne pas faire chauffer de biberon au four.
9. Ne pas utiliser d’ustensiles métalliques dans le four.
10. Ne jamais utiliser de papier, de plastique ni autre matériau combustible non prévu pour la cuisson.
11. Lors de l’utilisation de papier, de plastique ou autre matériau combustible, suivre les conseils du fabricant
concernant son utilisation.
12. Ne pas utiliser de serviettes en papier contenant du nylon ou autres fibres synthétiques. Ces fibres
pourraient fondre et faire enflammer le papier.
13. Ne pas faire chauffer de récipients ni de sacs en plastique hermétiquement fermés dans le four. La nourriture
ou le liquide pourraient gonfler rapidement et faire éclater le récipient ou le sachet. Percer ou ouvrir celui-ci
avant de le faire chauffer.
14. Pour éviter le mauvais fonctionnement d’un stimulateur cardiaque, prière de se renseigner auprès du
médecin ou du fabricant du stimulateur au sujet des effets de l’énergie micro-ondes sur ce dispositif.

A. NE PAS essayer de faire fonctionner le four avec la porte ouverte car cela peut résulter en une exposition

Emission de parasites
La production de micro-ondes peut
créer des parasites perturbant le
fonctionnement de radios, téléviseurs ou
d’un four de type similaire. Pour réduire
ou éliminer l’émission de parasites :
• Nettoyer la porte et les surfaces
formant joint suivant les indications
données sous Entretien.
• Éloigner la radio, le téléviseur ou tout
autre appareil le plus possible du four.
• Utiliser une antenne correctement
installée sur la radio, le téléviseur ou
tout autre appareil pour assurer une
meilleure réception.
Déballage du four
• Vérifier que le four n’est pas endommagé, notamment que ni la porte ni
l’intérieur ne présentent de bosselures.
• Signaler immédiatement au fournisseur toute bosselure ou autre
dommage. Ne pas utiliser le four s’il est endommagé.
• Enlever tous les articles de l’intérieur du four.
• Une fois le four mis en service, retirer la pellicule en plastique qui
recouvre le bâti du four.
• Si le four a été entreposé dans un endroit extrêmement froid, attendre
quelques heures avant de le mettre sous tension.
Consignes de mise à la terre
Ce four à micro-ondes est conçu pour fonctionner sur une prise de courant à usage ménager
standard de 120V/60Hz. S’assurer que le circuit est d’au moins 15A et que le four à micro-ondes
est le seul appareil électrique sur le circuit. Il n’est pas conçu pour 50 Hz ou tout circuit autre qu’un
circuit 120/60 Hz.
TCet appareil doit être relié à la terre. En cas de court-circuit, la mise à la terre réduit le risque
d’électrocution en permettant au courant électrique de s’échapper dans un fil. Ce four est muni
d’un cordon possédant un fil de mise à la terre avec une fiche de mise à la terre. La fiche doit être branchée dans
une prise correctement installée et mise à la terre.
Ce four à micro-ondes doit être branché dans une prise de courant à trois trous, correctement polarisée et mise à la
terre. Ne pas utiliser de rallonge ou d’adaptateur. Garder le cordon d’alimentation au sec et éviter de le pincer ou
de l’écraser.
Consulter un électricien ou un prestataire de service qualifié si les instructions de mise à la terre ne sont pas bien
comprises, ou si un doute subsiste quant à la mise à la terre
correcte de l’équipement.
Emplacement du four
• Ne pas placer le four à côté ni au-dessus d’une source de
chaleur telle que four à pizza ou friteuse. Ceci pourrait
entraîner le mauvais fonctionnement du four et réduire la
durée de vie des composants électriques.
• Ne pas bloquer ni boucher le filtre du four. Laisser
suffisamment de place pour permettre le nettoyage.
• Placer le four sur un comptoir plat.
• Il doit y avoir au moins 2 à 4 po (5,1 à 10,2 cm) de
dégagement au-dessus du four. Une circulation d’air
suffisante autour du four permet aux composants électriques
de refroidir.
• Laisser au moins 2 po (5,1 cm) entre l’arrière du micro-
ondes et le mur.

Touches préprogrammées
Les touches 1 à 8 sont programmées par Amana à des niveaux de puissance et des temps de cuisson
spécifiques. Chaque touche porte une indication de son type de cuisson, par exemple, Pizza . Chaque
touche correspond à des temps de cuisson et des niveaux de puissance optimaux pour ces aliments.
Ceux-ci peuvent ensuite être modifiés au choix.
Cuisson en quatre étapes
Chaque touche peut être programmée pour assurer la cuisson en quatre étapes. Une étape représente
un temps de cuisson et un réglage de puissance spécifiques. En programmant différentes étapes dans
une touche, les aliments peuvent être décongelés et cuits en une seule étape. Le four à micro-ondes passe
automatiquement d’une étape à l’autre et augmente ou diminue le niveau de puissance en conséquence.
Programmation manuelle du temps de cuisson
En plus des touches programmables, le temps de cuisson peut être programmé manuellement à l’aide
de la touche TIME COOK. L’utilisation de cette fonction n’affecte pas les touches programmées.

Ce four à micro-ondes est doté de 6 options différentes, allant de la commande de volume jusqu’aux
touches programmables. Il est très facile de programmer et d’accéder à chaque option. Chaque four à micro-ondes
peut être programmé selon les préférences de l’utilisateur.
