The basic Mode! AK-950( ) was FAA PMA 1 STC approved. (See
Appendix B,) included Evaluation
of
the Visibility,
of
the Switches
and Annunciators, during Day and Night Lightning Conditions,
demonstrated by F
AA
Ground and Flight Test.
The AK-950 series controls contain specifie dash numbers to be used
with various EGPWS. The installer must match the correct controller
part number with the system that is being installed.
This equipment EGPWS switching & Annunciator Panel
is
approved
for installation with the following mode! number only:
EGPWS mode! MK VI 1VIII. Honeywell Inc.
Installation
of
this equipment to any other EGPWS
is
disapproved
"The PMA identifies the minimum performance standards, tests and
other conditions applicable for issuance
of
design and production
approval
of
the article. The PMA does not specifically identify
acceptable conditions for installations
of
the article. The PMA
applicant is responsible for documenting ali limitations and conditions
suitable for installation
of
the article. An applicant requesting
approval for installation
of
the article within a specifie type
or
class
of
product
is
responsible for determining environmental and functional
compatibility.
NOTE:
If
the AK-950 is disconnected or removed from the aircraft,
there will be no effect
in
the operation
of
the EGPWS system.

No
direct
cooling
is required.
As
with
any
electronic
equiprnent, overall
reliability
may
be increased

the

be a plus.

DIMMING
TEST:
A Photocell
provides
the
Auto
Dimming
function.
This
can be
tested
by
covering
the
Photocell
by
hand
and
observing
the
change in
brightness.
NOTE: 1. There is an
Adjustment
Potentiometer
located
on
the
side
of
the
unit.
Adjustment
should
be made
when
the
unit
is installed in
aircraft,
and
with
night
time
lighting
conditions.
2. Rotate
the
Potentiometer
clockwise
to
dim
the
annunciators.
Rotate
the
Potentiometer
counter-clockwise
to
make
the
annunciators
brighter.
3. Do
not
use
excessive
in
ward
force
on
the
alignment
tool,
and
do
not
use
excessive
rotational
force.

may
result.

particulars

support

warranty
does
not
cover
or
apply
to
any
of
the
followings,
including:
misuse
of
the
equipment;
installation
or
operation
not
in
accordance
with
factory
instructions;
accidents
or
negligent
damage;
alterations
of
any
manner;
repair
by
other
factory;
changes
in
calibration
occuring
as a
result
of
normal
use

cost
of
labor,
