GroundingorPolarization
•Ifthisproductisequippedwithapolarizedalternatingcurrentlineplug(aplughavingonebladewiderthantheother),itwillfitintothe
outletonlyoneway.Thisisasafetyfeature.Ifyouareunabletoinserttheplugfullyintotheoutlet,tryreversingtheplug.Iftheplug
shouldstillfailtofit,contactyourelectriciantoreplaceyourobsoleteoutlet.Donotdefeatthesafetypurposeofthepolarizedplug.
•Ifthisproductisequippedwithathree‐wiregroundingtypeplug,aplughavingathird(grounding)pin,itwillonlyfitintoagroundingtype
poweroutlet.Thisisasafetyfeature.Ifyouareunabletoinserttheplugintotheoutlet,contactyourelectriciantoreplaceyourobsolete

OutdoorAntennaGrounding

Ifanoutsideantennaorcablesystemis
connectedtotheproduct,besuretheantennaorcablesystemisgroundedso
astoprovidesomeprotectionagainstvoltagesurgesandbuilt‐upstatic
charges.
Article810oftheNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70,providesinformation
withregardtopropergroundingofthemastandsupportingstructure,
groundingofthelead‐inwiretoanantennadischargeunit,sizeofgrounding
conductors,locationofantenna‐dischargeunit,connectiontogrounding
electrodes,andrequirementsforthegroundingelectrode.

Lightning–Foraddedprotectionforthisproductduringalightningstorm,orwhenitisleftunattendedandunusedforlongperiodsoftime,
unplugitfromthewalloutletanddisconnecttheantennaorcablesystem.Thiswillpreventdamagetotheproductduetolightningandpower‐
linesurges.
PowerLines–Anoutsideantennasystemshouldnotbelocatedinthevicinityofoverheadpowerlinesorotherelectriclightorpowercircuits,or
whereitcanfallintosuchpowerlinesorcircuits.Wheninstallinganoutsideantennasystem,extremecareshouldbetakentokeepfromtouching
suchpowerlinesorcircuitsascontactwiththemmightbefatal.
Overloading–Donotoverloadwalloutlets,extensioncords,orintegralconveniencereceptaclesasthiscanresultinariskoffireorelectricshock.
ObjectandLiquidEntry–Neverpushobjectsofanykindintothisproductthroughopeningsastheymaytouchdangerousvoltagepointsorshort‐
outpartsthatcouldresultinafireorelectricshock.Neverspillliquidofanykindontheproduct.
Servicing–Donotattempttoservicethisproductyourselfasopeningorremovingcoversmayexposeyoutodangerousvoltageorotherhazards.
