1. Introduction
ALP1120/A and ALP2200/A130 are outdoor information LED panel intended to
be built-in to rolling stock. Difference between LED panels ALP2200/A and
ALP2200/A130 is only in cable length. Information panels are designed and
approved in accordance with EN 50155:2007 standard.
Information panels are delivered only with loader. Loading of an appliaction or
its updating is performed by customer through communication line RS485 after
mounting.

More information about using the RS485 line can be found in Application Note
AP0016. The RS485 line communication protocol is determined by user appli-
cation in processor.
5.1.1 RS485 line termination
For correct function, RS485 line must be terminated with terminating resistors.
Termination can be performed either by DIP switch described above, or by
connection of external terminating resistors. Terminator must be connected on
end stations. On intermediate stations termination must be disconnected.
Information LED panel is not equipped with RS485 terminator. Terminator is
connected on external cabling.

If all stations are disconnected from power supply, resistance between A and B
signals on correctly terminated line is 60Ω ±10 %.
More information about using the RS485 line can be found in Application Note
AP0016. The RS485 line communication protocol is determined by user
application in processor.
5.2. Geographic addressing
Information panel ALP2200/A, ALP2200/A130 geographic address is set by
interconnecting the address inputs ADx with COM pin on connector X2.
Combination of bits AD1 (LSB) to AD4 (MSB) represents by itself the binary
form of geographic address. ADx connected to COM pin corresponds with log.
1, leaving ADx pin unconnected correspond with log. 0, see address table.
Addresses have offset 64. See address table.

5.3. Light sensor
Information panel is equipped with light sensor, that is used for measuring of
ambient light. Thanks to this sensor, information panel can regulate brightness
to optimal value, according to ambient conditions. For panel correct operation
the sensor must be exposed to the ambient light, and must not be covered
anything.

7.1. Installation rules
PE terminal of power supply connector must be connected with local installation
earthing terminal.
Minimum cross-section of supplying conductors must be at least 0.75 mm2.
All cabling must be carefully tied by cable ties to avoid the excessive connector
pulling or prying.
The RS 485 communication line must be shielded. Shielding must be connected
to PE terminal of information panel.
