1.PluggingCPUandConnectingCPUFan

connector.Bothofthesetwofanconnectorssupport
hardwaremonitoringfunction,however,youcanonly
usetheCPUFANconnectortocontrolthefanpower
ON/OFF.
2.SettingAGPFrequency
AccordingtotheCPUyouuse,66MHzAGPfrequencyisautomaticallydeterminedbychipset.
ButthisjumpercanbeusedtomanuallydecideAGPfrequencywhenyouareoverclocking.We
recommendchoosinga betterAGPcardfor1/1AGPturbooverclocking.SomeAGPcardcannot
support100MHzbusfrequency.

3.ConnectingFrontPanelCable
AttachthepowerLED,keylock,speaker,andresetswitchconnectorstothecorrespondingpins.If
youenable"SuspendMode"iteminBIOSSetup,theACPI& PowerLEDwillkeepflashingwhile
thesystemisinsuspendmode.
Locatethepowerswitchcablefromyourhousing.Itis2-pinfemaleconnectorfromthehousing
frontpanel.Plugthisconnectortothesoft-powerswitchconnectormarkedSPWR.

168pinDIMMsockets(Dual-in-lineMemoryModule)thatallowyoutoinstallsystemmemoryupto
512MB.IncaseyouinstallSDRAMsonDIMM2andDIMM3atthesametime,itiscrucialto
identifysingle/doubleside.Forthisconfiguration,onlysinglesideSDRAMsareacceptable.

Warning: This motherboard does not support Registered SDRAMs and EDO DRAMs.
Warning: If you install two double-side SDRAMs, the possible combinations are
DIMM1 &DIMM2 or DIMM1 &DIMM3.
5.Power On andLoadBIOSSetupDefault
ToentertheBIOSSetup,pressIIPELIduringPOST(Power-OnSelfTest).Choose"LoadSetup
Defaults"forrecommendedoptimalperformance.Pleaseavoidofusing"LoadTurboDefaults",
unlessyou'resureyoursystemcomponents(CPU,DRAM,HDD,etc.)aregoodenoughforturbo
setting.Fordetailedinformation,referto"AWARDBIOS"sectionintheonlineuser'smanual.
6.SettingCPUCoreVoltage
ThismotherboardsupportsPentiumII/ PentiumIII/ CeleronVIDfunction,theCPUcorevoltageis
automaticallydetected,therangeisfrom1.3Vto3.5V.

Tip: If your system hangs or fails to boot because of over-clocking, simply use <Home>
key to restore to the default setting (233MHz). Press <Home> key first and then press
power button at the same time. Note that do not release <Home> key until POST screen
appears.
Warning: INTEL 440ZX/BX chipset supports a maximum of 100MHz FSB. the higher
clock settings are for internal test only. These settings exceed the specification of the
chipset, which may cause serious system damage.
8.OnboardSoundChip

Win95cannotrecognizethischipset,becauseitwasreleasedbeforeIntel440ZX/BX.Youcanrun
AOchip.exefromAOpenBonusPacktoeliminatethe"?"marks.
installingBusMasterIDEDriver
ThereisnoneedtoinstallBusMasterIDEdrivertosupportUltraDMA/33harddisk.Ifyouneed
thisdriver,youcanfinditintheAOpenBonusPackCDdiscorourweb.Runsetup.exedirectlyto
installthisprogram.
Warning: Installing this Bus Master IDE driver may cause Suspend to Hard Drive failure.
HowtoUpgradeBIOS?
AOpenEasyFlashismoreuserfriendlythantraditionalflashmethod.TheBIOSbinaryfile and
flashroutinearecombinedtogetherandyousimplyruna singlefiletocompletetheflashprocess.
1.GetnewBIOSupgradeprogramfromAOpen'swebsite.Forexample,6BEZ200.EXE.Itis
recommendedtosaveittoa bootableDOSfloppydisketteforerrorrecovery.
2.RebootthesystemtoDOSmodewithoutloadinganymemoryhandler(suchasEMM386)or
devicedriver.Itneedsaround520Kfreememoryspace.
3.ExecuteA:>6BEZ200
DONOTturnoffthepowerduringFLASHPROCESS.
4.Rebootthesystembyturnoffthepowerafterflashiscompleted.
5.Reloadthe"BIOSSETUPDEFAULT'andreconfigureotheritemsaspreviousset.Save& Exit.
Done!
Note:TheupgradeofnewBIOSwillpermanentlyreplaceyouroriginalBIOScontentafterflashing.
TheoriginalBIOSsettingandWin95/Win98PnPinformationwillberefreshedandyouprobably
needtore-configureyoursystem.
Note:IfyouencounterBIOSflashfail,usePCIVGAcardtocheckifitcanbebootfromfloppyand
flashagain.
