TheAPMTelescopesAPObinocularsarefilledwithharmlessnitrogengasduringmanufacture.Thispreventsthe
ingressofwater,thusmakingit water-resistant.Youdonothavetoworryifyourbinocularsgetwet.Ifitgetswet,
justletitdryathomeanditisreadyforuseagain.Bythewaythenitrogenprotects your binoculars against lens
fungus.
TheAPMTelescopesAPObinocularshave1¼" standard eyepiece receptaclessothattheeyepiecescanbe
changedanddifferent magnificationscanbeachieved.ThefocalpositionwaschosensuchthatTeleVueDelos,
Nagler,PanopticeyepiecesandtheDocter12.5mmUWAeyepiececanbefocused.
Features of the Tripod
Thesuppliedtripodisverystableandsimple to handle.IteasilycarriesyournewAPMTelescopesAPO
binoculars.
Thetripodlegshavesegments,soyoucanadjusttheheight of the tripodtoyourneedsineverysituation.
Features of the Center Mount
ThestablecentermountconnectsyourAPMTelescopesAPObinocularstothetripodviaa
standard 3/8" connector.Itallowsfreeandprecisehorizontal and vertical movements.
Assembly
Firstpullthetripodlegsoffbylooseningthelockingscrewsonthelegsandthecentercolumn(if
applicable)andlockingtheminasuitableheight.Thenpositionthelower,cylindricalpartofthe
centermountandscrewthetripod's3/8"screwintothethreadinthefootofthecentermount.
Afterwardsyoucaninserttheshaftintothelowerpart.Nowfitthebinocularstripodadapterat
thebottomofthebridgetothecentermountarmandtightenthescrew.Thenpushthetwo
suppliedeyepiecesintotheeyepiecereceptacles,clampthemfirmlywiththesmallerofthetwo
ringsatthereceptacle.Thensettheappropriateinterpupillarydistancebyusingtheflutedlevers
atthereceptaclesandpushtheeyepiecesapartortogetheruntiltheyareattherightdistance.The
distanceissetcorrectly,assoonasarelaxedviewthroughtheglassispossible.Thereafter,the
binocularsarepreparedforobservation.
Focusing
TheAPMTelescopesAPObinocularshaveasocalledsingleeyepiecefocussystem.Thisgives
youtheopportunitytosetthefocusindividuallyforeacheye.Allyouneedtodoistofocusone
eyepiecebyturningthefocusing ring,thatisthewiderofthetworings,untiltheimageissharp.
Repeattheprocedureforthesecondeyepiece.Whenyouperformtheoperationonamediumfar
object,moredistantonesareautomaticallysharp.Bytheway,differencesinthevisual
performanceoftheeyesareautomaticallycompensatedfor.Ofcourse,APMTelescopesAPO
binocularshaveadioptercompensation,thatallowsforindividualfocusingatinfinity.
