FOREWORD
This product is designed for video equipments that oer HDMI ports,and HD-SDI outputs,
such as DSLR, and camcorder. And please read the user manual and keep it where all
those who use this equipment will read them.

Aputure V-Screen VS-5 is a pro multifunction monitor with a 7-inch full HD LCD screen
(1920X1200 pixels), which provides deverse video interface, such as HDMI, SDI. Also,
VS-5 features full information mode.

Full Info. Mode
In this mode, you can monitor the footage. In the mean time, vectorscope,
waveform, RGB histogram, and volume bar are provided to assist shooting.

Waveform
There are two waveform modes: Overlay, and Parade, which allows simple
measurement without additional measurement equipment.
Vectorscope
There are two vectorscope modes: 1X, and 2X, which can be used to
display color gamut.

Utilize both zebra marking and over exposure monitoring features to assist
in exposure adjustment.
Peak
You can select Red, Yellow, Blue, or White to highlight the contours of
sharpest focusing areas, or choose Highlight to present the focusing area
by brightness contrast.
False Color
False Color is used to aid in the setting of camera exposure, which enables
proper exposure to be achieved without the use of costly, complicated
external test equipment. With the Scale, which is below the image, the
user can evaluate the exposure more accurately.
RGB Histogram
The RGB Histogram is a representation of the distribution of colors in an
image. It shows the red, green, and blue channels in histogram.

Monochrome
Oer four monochrome patterns, including Grey, Red, Blue and Green.
Mono
Volume Bar
Monitor the volume in left and right channels. And it is marked by 3 colors,
green, yellow, and red, depending the Volume Level.
Center Mark
The Center Mark can be displayed together with another marker, Safe Area.
Safe Area
A wide range of safe area displays and aspect ratios, 2.35:1/ 1.33:1/ 1.66:1/
1.85:1/ 70%/ 80%/ 90%, can be selected.
Flip
The picture of monitor can be freely ipped both vertically and horizontally.
Color Temp
Color Temperatures of 6500K, 9300K or a User preset value can be selected.
Low Battery Alert
When your battery power is low, a red battery-shaped signal will icker on
the middle of the screen, which means that the monitor may be shut down
in a minute. If so, please replace your battery.
Shortcut
When menu is under inactivated, the menu button and navigators, which
can be assigned to custom functions, can be use as shortcut keys. Every
shortcut keys can be assigned to two function. But when a shortcut key is
assigned to zoom, the key can only use as zoom, and can be assigned to
all zoom modes.

1) Mount monitor on your DSLR or camcorder with universal hot shoe mount.
2) Fix V-Screen on the magic hand or other accessories with 1/4" connecter, and lock them.
Ax the sunhood on the monitor with tape as shown by the picture.

POWERING
POWER ON/OFF
When you pull Power Switch to ON, the Power Indicator turns into green. When Power
Switch is turned to OFF, the Power Indicator is o.
SIGNAL INPUT
The monitor supports SDI and HDMI. After activating the menu, you can go to
"Other Setting-Input" to choose appropriate signal.
* The following batteries are recommended: Sony NP-S Series: NP-F550/F570/F770/F960/F970,
Sony NP-FM/QM Series: FM50/FM51/FM55H/FM500H/QM50/QM51/QM71D/QM91D.
* You can also power it by a DC 7-18V through the input on the back of V-Screen.

Assemble: As shown, slot the battery into the Battery Holder.
Disassemble: Press the Battery Lock, and push the battery as shown to disassemble the
battery.

ACCESSING THE MENU
MENU
On the top of monitor, there is a bar to show input format, activated feature, and battery
status. The bar on the bottom shows shortcut information. Also, you can close the bar on
the bottom in "Other Setting-Extra OSD"
VS-5 monitor is constantly under development, which means Aputure may release latest
rmware on ocial website.

The “ ”, Navigators ( “ ” and “ ” ) can be used to activate menu and navigate in
the menu structure.
1. Long pressing “ ” button allows to activate menu.
2. After short pressing ” ”, or “ ” button to choose menu bar, press “ ” button to
access to the function sub-menu.
3. If you want to change the function setting, short press “ ” after navigating to the
option you want, then short press ” ” or “ ” to change the setting, and short press
“ ” to conrm it.
4. Long press “ ” button for 1.5 seconds to exit menu.
