 3 PRESENTATION
TheMAXIDRIVEbackwardinclineddirectdriveblowerisasystemdesignedtoexhaustandcapture
fumes,smokeoranygaseousbeingproduced.
Mainapplicaonsincludewelding,bung,pharmaceucaloperaons,handlingofvolaleand
harmfulvapours,etc.
OponalequipmentmayincludeMAXAIRfumearms,MAXIREELexhausthosereels,MAXIDROP
hosedropsystems,etc.

 5.1 Availablefansupportbrackets
 6 NORMALUSE
The MAXIDRIVE backward inclined blower is designed to remove gases and smoke from the air
resulngfromafabricaonprocess.EachMAXIDRIVEbackwardinclinedfansisbuiltasperthe
criteriaandinformaonsuppliedbythecustomerforaspecicapplicaon,andshouldnotserve
anyotherapplicaonwithouttheapprovalofA.Q.C.Inc.
 7 OPERATIONANDPURPOSE
MAXIDRIVEbackwardinclinedbladefansincludeimpellerswhichareusedtoexhaustcontaminated
airdirectlytotheoutsideorthroughalteringdevice.Operangtemperaturesare200°F(93°C).
Oponalhightemperatureresistantpaintonimpellersisavailable.Explosionproofmotorsare
recommendedwhenfanisinstalledinreacvegasenvironments.

4. Install a ground wire to the unit.
5. Lift the filter cabinet using the lift lugs. Using spikes, position the cabinet
above the dust storage section making sure to align the cabinet bolt holes
with the dust storage bolt holes.
6. Lower the filter cabinet onto the dust storage section and align the bolt holes.
7. Attach the filter cabinet to the dust storage section using the supplied nuts,
washers and bolts. Tighten bolts for an adequate seal.

WARNING
Apply two strips of butyl adhesive on the dust storage section upper
outline. One strip should be applied inward of the bolt holes and one
strip outward of the bolt holes (Figure 4).

 9 INSTALLATION
MAXIDRIVEbackwardinclinedfansmaybeusedinconjunconwithfumearms,hosereelsand
extensionswingbooms.Refertoappropriateuseandinstallaonmanuals.
WARNING!
Installaonofequipmentmustbeperformedasperlocal
buildinglawsandregulaons.Structuremustmeetproper
weightsupportofarmandequipment.
 9.1 Inspeconofgoods
TheMAXIDRIVEbackwardinclined fan maybeshippedfullyassembled or separatefromthe
supportbracket.Proceedwithavisualinspeconuponreceivingthematerialandcheckforany
apparentdamagethatmayhavehappenedduringfreight.Generally,shipmentincludesthefan
andmotorassembly,supportbracketandmotorcover(ifordered).Otheroponalcomponents
suchasexhaustsilencers,startersandvibraonisolatorsmaybeincludedwithshipment.Inspect
boxorcrateappearancewhenreceivingthegoods.Reportdamagestocarrierimmediately.Failure
to do so will void future claims.
 9.2 Locaon
1. The area where the blower will be installed should be able to sustain the weight of such along
withtheaccessories,ducng,fanoranyoponalequipment.
2. Installershouldensureareaaroundthefanwillbefreeofobstaclessuchasbeams,lighng
xtures,overheadcranes,etc.
3. Conrmfanlocaon(andoponalequipment)withtheengineeroruser.
4. Forsafetypurpose,ateamoftwo(2)shouldbeassignedtotheinstallaon.
 9.3 InstallaonofMAXIDRIVEfanwithMAXAIRfumearm:
1. Boltorweldsupportbracket(1)tosupportstructure.
2. Posionfanonsupportbracket.DONOTFASTENTO BRACKET YET.Ensurefanorientaonis
appropriateforexhaustdirecon. Note:Oponalfan/armreducer(4)willberequiredifarm
outlet size does not match fan inlet size.
3. AachfumearmtosupportbracketandMAXIDRIVEfan.Ensurearmsocketstopperisfacing
bracket support structure. Note:Oponalfanoutletsilencer(5)willbeinstalledifrequired.

 9.4 InstallaonofMAXIDRIVEfanwith
MAXIREACHextensionboom:
1. BoltorweldMAXIREACHboombase(1)to
support structure.
2. Posion fan on boom base. Ensure fan
orientation is appropriate for exhaust
direcon.
Note: Oponalfan/boombasereducerwillbe
requiredifboomoutletsizedoesnotmatchfan
inlet size.
Note:Oponalfanoutletsilencerwillbeinstalledifrequired.
 9.5 InstallaonofMAXIDRIVEfanwithMAXIREELexhausthosereel:
Note:AQCusuallysuppliesfanandreelfactoryassembled.Iffanisshippedseparate,boltfan
angedinlettohosereelangedoutlet.Ensurefanorientaonisappropriateforexhaustdirecon.

 10 ELECTRICALCONNECTIONS
Note:Duetodierentvoltages,amperages,HPand fanoponalequipment available,wiring
diagrams and electrical connecons are available on request. On three phase motors, verify
rotaononstart-up,reversewiresifnecessary.
