This modern and streamlined TV Cabinet features 2 toughened glass doors with magnetic tough-spring
catches. Open shelving at the top of the unit provides VCR storage and easy access to remotes etc. This
unit has a Thermo-Formed Top, which gives it increased strength and durability. The ALO-MP1255 is finished
in Black.
The Arlo TV Cabinet is constructed from NZ made MDF, a renewable resource from sustainably managed
pine forests. This means you can have complete confidence that with The Arlo TV Cabinet, you are making

WHERE TO ASSEMBLE YOUR TV CABINET
Assemble your TV Cabinet on a clean and smooth surface, free of anything which may damage the
finished surfaces. A clean, carpeted floor is ideal. If assembling on a workbench or table we suggest you
cover it with the carton the TV Cabinet was packaged in.
Warning! Never leave hardware parts where children can reach them. Small parts may be a choking
hazard!

The Arlo TV Cabinet carries a 5 year guarantee against defective material or workmanship, excluding
misuse and normal wear and tear. Obviously, as this unit is customer-assembled we cannot guarantee
cabinet failure or damage from incorrect assembly. All claims need proof of purchase –to ensure this

Follow the assembly instructions carefully and take note of the precautions below.
Avoid direct sunlight wherever possible.
Keep cabinet in a dry place.
Wipe off spilt liquids immediately.
Avoid placing hot items directly on the surface.
Clean with a slightly damp cloth and buff dry with a soft dry cloth - microfibre is ideal.
Do not allow nail polish, removers, deodorant or other damaging chemicals to come into
contact with the surface.

CAM INSTALLATION & OPERATION GUIDE
The Cam and Connecting Bolt system is used to put your unit together. Below is an explanation of how this
system works.

INSTALL THE HARDWARE
Step 1 - top
Lay the Top of the unit finished side down on a clean, clear surface.
Screw eight H1 Connecting Bolts into the holes as indicated in the drawing below

Step 2 –Lh end
Lay the LH End on a smooth clean surface with holes facing upwards.
Insert two H2 15mm Cams as shown in diagram. Ensure the arrow on the top of the Cam points
towards the top edge of the End.
Push two H15 Dowels into the top edge of the End.
Screw four H1 Connecting Bolts into the holes indicated on the diagram below.

Step 3 –RH end
Lay the RH End on a smooth clean surface with holes facing upwards.
Insert two H2 15mm Cams as shown in diagram. Ensure the arrow on the top of the Cam points
towards the top edge of the End.
Push two H15 Dowels into the top edge of the End.
Screw two H1 Connecting Bolts into the holes indicated on the diagram below.

Step 4 –centre division
Lay the Centre Division on a smooth clean surface with holes facing upwards.
Insert two H2 15mm Cams as shown in diagram. Ensure the arrow on the top of the Cam points
towards the top edge of the Division.
Push two H15 Dowels into the top edge of the Division.

Step 5 - divisions
Install the two H2 15mm Cams into each Division as shown below –ensure the arrow points towards
the top edge of the Division. NOTE: These Divisions are interchangeable.
Insert two H15 Dowels into each Division as shown below.

Step 6 –base shelf
Lay the Base Shelf on a smooth clean surface with holes facing upwards. NOTE: The Base Shelf has a
purple mark on the back edge.
Insert two H2 Large Cams into each end of the Base Shelf as shown in diagram. Ensure the arrow on
the top of the Cam points towards the top edge of the Shelf.
Push two H15 Dowels into each end of the Shelf as shown below.

Step 7 –fixed shelf
Lay the Fixed Shelf on a smooth clean surface with holes facing upwards.
Insert two H2 Large Cams into each end as shown in diagram. Ensure the arrow on the top of the
Cam points towards the top edge of the Shelf.
Push two H15 Dowels into the each end of the Shelf.
Screw two H1 Connecting Bolts into the holes as indicated on the diagram below.
Screw on the two H53 Magnetic Catches using the H7 Panhead Screws and the H7 Panhead Screws
as shown below. Use the pre-drilled holes.

ASSEMBLE THE UNIT
Step 8 - Attach foot to base shelf
Take the Base Shelf. Prop it on its back edge with the finished edge facing upwards.
Take the Foot. Using two of the H5 Large Screws, fix the Foot to the unfinished side of the Base Shelf
as shown below. Ensure that the finished edge of the Foot is facing the same way as the finished
edge of the Base Shelf. The holes drilled in the Base Shelf will line up with the holes drilled in the
bottom edge of the Foot.

Step 9 - attach centre division to base shelf
Take the Centre Division. Using two of the H5 Large Screws, fix the Centre Division to the base Shelf.
Ensure that the finished edge of the Centre Division is facing the same way as the finished edge of
the Base Shelf. The holes drilled in the Base Shelf will line up with the holes drilled in the bottom edge
of the Centre Division.

Step 10 –Attach fixed shelf to centre division
Take the Fixed Shelf. Fit the H1 Connecting Bolts installed in the Fixed Shelf to the H2 Cams installed in
the top end of the Centre Division. Ensure that the finished edge of the Fixed Shelf is facing up.
Tighten the Cams in a clockwise direction to lock the Division to the Shelf. Ensure that the Cams turn
at least a ¼ of a turn.
Step 11 –attach RH End
Take the RH End. Fit the H1 Connecting Bolts installed in the RH End to the H2 Cams installed in the
Shelves.
Tighten the Cams in a clockwise direction to lock the End to the Shelves. Ensure that the Cams turn
at least a ¼ of a turn.

Step 12 –attach LH End
Take the LH End. Fit the H1 Connecting Bolts installed in the LH End to the H2 Cams installed in the
Shelves.
Tighten the Cams in a clockwise direction to lock the End to the Shelves. Ensure that the Cams turn
at least a ¼ of a turn.
Step 13 - Glides
Take the six Nail on Glides. Tap them into the bottoms of the Ends and Foot as shown below.

Step 14 –attach divisions to top
Take the Top. Lay it finished side down.
Fit the H1 Connecting Bolts installed in the Top to the H2 Cams installed in the Divisions. Ensure that
the finished edges of the Divisions are facing the same way as the finished edge of the Top.
Tighten the Cams in a clockwise direction to lock the Divisions to the Top. Ensure that the Cams turn
at least a ¼ of a turn.
Step 15 –attach top
Carefully stand the unit upright. You may like to get someone to help you do this.
Fit the Top with the Divisions attached to the Ends. The H1 Connecting Bolts installed in the Top will fit
into the H2 Cams installed in the Ends. Ensure that the finished edge of the Top is facing the same
direction as the finished edges of the ends.
Tighten the Cams in a clockwise direction to lock the Top to the Ends. Ensure that the Cams turn at
least a ¼ of a turn.
Take the remaining four H5 Large Screws. Lock the Divisions to the Adjustable Shelf by screwing these
up through the Fixed Shelf into the Divisions. The holes for these are predrilled.

Step 16 –back panel
Hold the Back Panel in Place as shown below, with the finished side towards the inside of the
cabinet. The Back Panel will fit between the rebates in the back of the Base Shelf and the Fixed
Shelf.
Partly tap a couple of Small Nails into the corners to hold it the Back Panel in place.
Make sure the back panel is fitted tightly and the Ends of the TV Cabinet are straight before nailing
completely into place. Space the nails about 100mm apart.
Step 17 –adjustable shelves
Take the H13 Shelf Support Pins. Push these into the holes drilled in the insides of the Ends and Centre
Division at the desired height. Ensure that all four Pins are at the same height, so that the Shelf sits
level.
Fit the Adjustable Shelves into the cabinet. TIP: insert the shelves on an angle, and straighten once
inside the unit.

Glass doors
Step 19 –pivot hinge sockets
Sit the Pivot Hinge Sockets in place in the predrilled holes in the Fixed Shelf and the Base Shelf as
shown below. NOTE: if the Pivot Hinge Socket does not stay in place in the Fixed Shelf, you can leave
it out for now
Step 20 –magnetic strike plate
Take one of the Glass Doors. Fit a magnetic Strike Plate to the end of one of the long edges as
shown below.

Step 21 –bottom pivot hinge
Take one of the Pivot Hinges. Fit this to the long edge of the corner of the door opposite to the
Magnetic Strike Plate. Tighten the screws in the Hinge until it holds the door firmly.
step 22 –fit LH glass door
Fit the pin at the bottom of the Pivot Hinge to the hole in the Pivot Hinge Socket fitted in the LH End
of the Base Shelf. Ensure that the screws in the Pivot Hinge are facing inwards.

Step 23 –fit LH glass door
While supporting the Door, ensure that the second Pivot Hinge socket is fitted in the pre-drilled hole
in the left hand end of the Fixed Shelf.
Fit the second Pivot Hinge to the hole in the top Pivot Hinge Socket. Ensure that the screws in the
Pivot Hinge are facing inwards.
Slide the top left hand edge of the Door into the Pivot Hinge. Adjust it to the right position so that the
door sits straight, and tighten the screws to hold it in place.
Step 24 –fit RH glass door
Repeat steps 19-23 to fit the RH Glass Door. NOTE: If the Doors to not appear to sit straight, you can
loosen the screws in the Pivot Hinges to straighten the doors. Remember to re-tighten the screws.
