Power disconnect: Units with or without ON-OFF switches have power
supplied tothe unit whenever the power cord is inserted into the main source;
however, the unit is operational only when the ON-OFF switch isinthe ON
position. To disconnect it from the main source, you have to disconnect the
powercord.

When the VCR is turned onforthe first time or afterexhaustion ofthe battery, initial clock set
up is needed. Without inputting the clock data, the time tobe recorded onthe recorded
pictures will not match with the time ofthe incidents. Thereforemake sure that you fill out
correctly before exiting menu.

NOTE

into VCR. Thathave a erasure
preventionTaB, the VCR will rewind
the tape, and wind some ofthe tape to
check forthe presence of Tape
Managementdata.
Video cassettetapes canbe loaded into your new VCR as long asthe VCR is plugged into a
powersource. Even if the VCR power switch is turned off, loading a cassette will
automatically cause it to turn on. Use onlystandardvideocassettetapes.
Use onlystandardgradecassettetapes for reliablevideorecording. Please donotuse: Pro,
Hi-Fi and High Grade tapes as damage tothe videoheads may occur.
FF —> Rewindbefore youusea new tape. Ifyouusethe same tapemanytimes its magnet is
peeled,causingnoise or poorqualitypicture. The tape may droop and cause troubles.Dusty
tapecausestroubles.Unevenlywoundtape maybe damaged. Wind such tapeevenly by
FF—> Rewindbeforeusing.

NOTE
*Your new VCR has protection circuit
which will eject the tape ifitis loaded
improperly. Ifthe VCR ejects the tape
you are trying to load, remove it
completely and check that the long
narrowedge with the contentslabel is
facingtowards youand that the clear
plasticwindow that shows the video
tape is facingupwards.Then try again.
1. To position the cassetteproperly beforeinserting it
inthe cassette slot, hold the cassette so that the
longnarrowedge with the contentslabelfaces
towards you. The otherlongnarrowedge is hinged
and shouldfacetowards the VCR.The clearplastic
window that shows the videotapeshouldface
upward.
2. Gentlyinsert the videotape into the cassetteslot
toa point where the VCR automaticallyretracts the
cassette.
* When you insert the videotape, be sure to orient it squarely tothe slot.
UNLOADING
1. Press the EJECT button onthe front ofthe VCR.
2. Remove the cassette.
Your VCR will eject a video cassetteeven ifitisin Standbymode.When the EJECT button is
pressed, the VCR will automaticallyeject the tape.
Itisnot possible to eject a tape while recording without first pressing the stop button. A tape
cannot be ejected when the VCR is locked.

TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL ERASURE
Video cassettescome with an erasureprevention tab which,
when removed,prevents the tape'scontentsfrombeing
erased, or recordedover.
If the cassette you insert in your VCR hasthe erasure
prevention tab removed,your VCR will automaticallyeject itif
you attempt to record onit.

*Donot connect color and black & white
cameras together.
Press the REC button to beginrecording.
Set the SECURITY LOCK toONina System Setupto prevent the recordingcondition
frombeingoperated by fault.
Press the STOP button to stoprecording. Ifthe Security Lock wassettoON,setitto
OEF before you press the eject button to stoprecording and eject.
NOTE
* Press the PAUSE/STILL button to
momentarily stop recording. Press rec
buttonagain to resumerecording.
*To protect the tape, the pausemode is
automaticallyreleasedafter 5 minutes.

the tape is in the stop or pausemode.
*Ifthe cassetteinserted in your VCR has
the erasureprevention tab removed, your
VCR will automaticallyeject itif you
attempt to record on it.

with other VCR's. Time Lapse recordings
can be playedcorrectly by otherTime
Lapse Recorders when the recording
interval and headtype matches the
recording.

RECORDING CHECK FUNCTION
During recording, press the PLAY button. The tape will rewind a little and thenplay the
recording just made. When the tapereaches the positionwhere the REC CHECK button was
pressed, theVCR returns to recordmode. While REC CHECK is executedtelerecording isnot
carried out.
AUDIO RECORDING / PLAYBACK
Apply the specified line input signal tothe AUDIO IN connector.
Availablerecordinghours are shownabove.
SECURITY LOCK MODE
When the LOCK issettoon,the eject buttons will not operate andthe VCR is kept inthe
currentmode .To release the lock mode, the LOCK issettooffina system set up Menu.

It is possible to switch from all recording modes to linearrecordingmode by applying an
alarm signal totheSET terminal onthe rearpanel.

Itis possible to switch the alarm
recording by applying theset
signal from the alarmsensor
duringrecording inall time
mode.
Set the alarmrecordingmode and alarmrecording period with alarm setupof menu.
The index signal is automatically recorded when an alarmrecordingbegins.
Buzzer is activated while alarmrecording when the alarmsignal is input, ifthe buzzer isset
ON onthe picture of WARNING / BUZZER.

When you finish ALARM RECORDING SETUP by following 1-3 steps above, try inputting the
alarmsignal.Thenrecording will start with buzzer. Ifyousetthe DURATION to T-END,
recording will be done totheendofthe tape. Ifyousetitto30 SEC(or 1, 5,10 MIN), recording
will be done within the indicated time.
LEVEL setup - The recordingcontinues for30 SEC. in case of within 30 SEC.
-The recordingcontinues forthe time that ALARM IN signal is input in case of

• Duringalarmrecording, the alarmrecordingmark ('A') will automatically be displayed on
screen.
* The alarm in indicator(ALM) blinks during alarm recording andon when the alarm

indicator is illuminated), the tape will automatically be rewound tothe start when the tape

Continue the repeatedvideorecording tothe tape end afterrecording the alarm, when the
alarmsignal is input when the videorecording is repeated, and stand byat stopafter
rewinding.

To move tothe next position, press ENETR button.
When you finishedabove process, press the MENU button to exit from TIMER
PROGRAM. Thenpress STOP button to activateTIMER PROGRAM. The power will beoff
and 0 will be displayed.
