1Overview
About this Technical Note
This technical note describes how to configure the Amigopod Visitor Management
Appliance to store a configurable IP address with user accounts, and to return those IP
addresses in RADIUS Access-Accept messages.
This configuration demonstrates:
•Customizing forms and views to collect additional data to store with a visitor account.
•Collecting data for a specific field only when a certain role is selected.
•Adding new fields to the print receipt generated for a visitor.
•Adding new RADIUS attributes as part of a role definition.
•Obtaining the value of a RADIUS attribute from a visitor account field.
Requirements
Amigopod RADIUS Services version 1.2.15 or later is required.
Administrator access to the Amigopod user interface is required.

2Form Customization
Create Account Forms
The first step involves adding a field to the New Visitor Account form to store the IP
address.
1. Navigate to Guests> Customization> Customize Forms & Views.
2. Select the create_user form and click Edit Fields.
3. Select the role_id entry in the table, and click Insert After.
4. Use the following settings to add a new field to the form:
Field Name: ip_address (This is a standard field and does not need to be created)
Field: [x] Enable this field
Rank: 72
Label: IP Address:
Description: IP address to assign for this user.
CSS Style: width:240px;
Validator: IsValidIpAddr
Validation Error: Please enter a valid IP address.
Advanced: [x] Show advanced properties
Visible If: role_id.value == 1
5. Click Save Changes
With these settings, the IP Address field will only be shown when the Contractor role is
selected (i.e. role_id == 1). To display the IP address for all roles, leave the Visible If field
blank.

This will result in New Visitor Account form similar to the following:
Edit Account form
To allow the entered IP address to be edited, repeat the previous form customization steps
for the guest_edit form.
View Customization
When managing accounts, it is useful to be able to view the IP addresses that have already
been assigned to visitor accounts. To do this requires editing the view that displays the
visitor accounts.
1. Navigate to Guest Manager> Customization> Customize Forms & Views.
2. Select the guest_users view and click Edit Fields.
3. Select the role_name entry in the table, and click Insert After.
4. Select the ip_address field, and keep the remaining settings as defaults.
5. Click Save Changes.
This will result in a List Accounts view similar to the following:

Print Template Customization
After creating a new visitor account with an assigned IP address, the IP address can also
be included on the visitor’s printed receipt.
To do this, the print template HTML must be modified to include the IP address
information if available.
1. Navigate to Guests>Print Templates.
2. Select the GuestManager Receipt template and click Edit.
3. At a suitable point in the User Account HTML (for example, after the role name), add
the following HTML code:
{if $u.ip_address}
<tr>
<th class="nwaLeft">IP address</th>
<td class="nwaBody">{$u.ip_address}</td>
</tr>
{/if}
4. Click Update Template.
The above code is shown highlighted in the following screenshot.
This will result in a print template that looks similar to the following:

3Role Customization
Now that IP address information can be entered, edited and printed out for visitors, the
role needs to be updated to use this IP address.
1. Navigate to RADIUS>User Roles.
2. Select the Contractor role and click Edit.
3. Click the Add Attribute tab.
4. Select the standard RADIUS attribute Framed-IP-Address.
5. Enter the value as <?= $user['ip_address']
This will return the contents of the user’s ip_address field as the value of the
Framed-IP-Address attribute when a RADIUS authentication request is received.
6. Click Add Attribute.
7. Select the standard RADIUS attribute Framed-IP-Netmask.
8. Enter the value as 255.255.0.0
9. Click Add Attribute.
10. Click Save Changes to update the role with the new attributes.
The RADIUS Role Editor form should now look similar to the following:
In this example, only the Contractor role has IP addresses assigned. To include the
Framed-IP-Address and Framed-IP-Netmask attributes in other roles, repeat the above
changes for the other roles.
RADIUS Test
The above changes can be verified using a RADIUS test client.
