Front Panel
Installation Requirements
Before the installation, make sure that you have the following:
Screwdriver, static-proof wristband, bolt, Ethernet cable, other Ethernet terminal devices and
control terminal.
Standard-sized, 19" wide rack with a minimum of 1U height available.
Category 5e or higher RJ45 Ethernet cables and ber optical cable for connecting network devices.
Site Environment
Make sure that the temperature of the installation site is maintained at -40°C~85°C.
The installation site must be well ventilated. Ensure that there is adequate airow around the
switch.
The switch should be installed at least 1U (44.45mm) away from devices to its sides.
Be sure that the switch is level and stable to avoid any hazardous conditions.
Do not install the equipment in a dusty environment.
The installation site must be free from leaking or dripping water, heavy dew, and humidity.
Ensure the rack and working platforms are well earthed.

Mounting the Switch
1. Attach the four rubber pads to the four corners on the switch bottom.
2. Place the switch on the desk.
1. Secure the mounting brackets to the two sides of the switch with supplied M3 screws.

NOTE: Do not put things weighing 4.5kg or over 4.5kg on the top of the switch.

1. Connect one end of the grounding cable to a proper earth ground, such as the rack in which the
switch is mounted.
2. Secure the grounding lug to the grounding point on the switch front panel with the screw and
washers.

1. Insert the RJ45 connector into the RJ45 console port on the front panel of the switch.
2. Connect the DB9 female connector of the console cable to the serial port on the PC.

1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of a computer, printer, network storage, or other
network devices.
2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of the switch.
1. Plug the compatible SFP transceiver into the SFP port.
2. Connect a ber optic cable to the ber transceiver. Then connect the other end of the cable to
another ber device.

Connecting the Power
1. Press the orange button with your hand or a at-blade screwdriver.
The front panel of the switch indicates an AC/DC inlet power socket and consists of one terminal
block connector within 5 contacts. Please follow the steps below to insert the power wire.

Conguring the Switch
Conguring the Switch Using the Console Port
Step 1: Connect a computer to the console port of the switch with the console cable.
Step 2: Start the terminal simulation software, such as HyperTerminal on the computer.
Step 3: Set the parameters of the HyperTerminal: Baud rate to 115200, Data bits to 8, Parity to None,
Stop bits to 1, and Flow control to None.

Step 1: Connect a computer to the Management port of the Switch using the network cable.
Step 2: Set the IP address of the computer to 192.168.1.x ("x" is any number from 2 to 254).

Step 3: Open a browser, type http://192.168.1.1 and enter the default username and password,
admin/admin.
Step 4: Click Login to display the web-based conguration page.

Troubleshooting
Faults Related To Power And Cooling System
When the power switch is “ON” , check whether the fan works normally. If the fan does not work
well, check the fan.
The working temperature of the switch is from -40°C to 85°C. If the switch is too hot, check
whether the air outlet and air inlet are clean.
If the switch cannot be started and the PWR indicator is o, check the power.

Faults Related To Port, Cable And Connection
If the port of the switch cannot be linked, check whether the cable is correctly connected and
whether the peer connection is normal.
If the power switch is “ON” , check the power source and the power cable.
If the console port does not work after the system is started up, check whether the console port is
set to a baud rate of 9600 bps, eight data bits, no sum check bit, one stop bit and no ow control.

Installationsvoraussetzungen
Vergewissern Sie sich vor der Installation, dass Sie Folgendes haben:
Schraubendreher, statiksicheres Armband, Bolzen, Ethernet-Kabel, andere Ethernet-Endgeräte
und Steuerterminal.
Ein 19"-Rack in Standardgröße mit einer Mindesthöhe von 1 HE steht zur Verfügung.
RJ45-Ethernet-Kabel der Kategorie 5e oder höher und Glasfaserkabel für den Anschluss von
Netzwerkgeräten.
Umgebung des Aufstellungsortes:
Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Temperatur des Aufstellungsortes zwischen -40°C und 85°C liegt.
Der Installationsort muss gut belüftet sein. Stellen Sie sicher, dass um den Switch herum ein
ausreichender Luftstrom herrscht.
Der Switch sollte mindestens 1 HE (44,45 mm) von den Geräten an seinen Seiten entfernt
installiert werden.
Achten Sie darauf, dass der Switch waagerecht und stabil steht, um gefährliche Bedingungen zu
vermeiden.
Installieren Sie das Gerät nicht in einer staubigen Umgebung.
Der Installationsort muss frei von austretendem oder tropfendem Wasser, starkem Tau und
Feuchtigkeit sein.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Rack und die Arbeitsbühnen gut geerdet sind.
