FOR LCD TV
If the TV feels cold to the touch, there may be a small “flicker” when it is turned on. This is normal,
there is nothing wrong with TV.
Some minute dot defects may be visible on the screen, appearing as tiny red, green, or blue spots.
However, they have no adverse effect on the monitor's performance.
Avoid touching the LCD screen or holding your finger(s) against it for long periods of time. Doing so
may produce some temporary distortion effects on the screen.
On Disposal
a. The fluorescent lamp used in this product contains a small amount of mercury.
b. Do not dispose of this product with general household waste.
c. Disposal of this product must be carried out in accordance to the regulations of your local
authority.

This reminder is provided to call the CATV system installer’s attention to Article 820-40 of the National
Electric Code (U.S.A.). The code provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies
that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point
of the cable entry as practical.
REGULATORY INFORMATION
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pur-
suant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide protection against harmful

10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience recep-

12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the
apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid

Recalls your preferred sound setting.
9. MENU
Selects a menu.
10.INPUT
Select TV,AV 1 ,AV 2 ,AV 3 ,S-Video,Component,
PC-RGB,HDMI1,HDMI2 (ALT4012AD/ALT4612AD
model only), HDMI3 (ALT4612AD model only) mode.
Switches the set on from standby.
Select on-screen menu setting.
11. Q.VIEW
Returns to the previously viewed channel.
12.EXIT
Exits from each mode.
13.CC
Select a closed caption.
-All the functions can be controlled with the remote control handset.
-Some functions can also be adjusted with the buttons on the front panel of the set.
-Before you use the remote control handset, please install the batteries.

Battery installation
-Your remote control handset is powered by two AAA type batteries.
1. To insert batteries, turn the remote
control handset over and remove the
battery cover.
2. Put the two batteries into the com-
partment observing battery polarity.
3. Replace the cover.
To avoid damage from possible battery leakage, remove the batteries if you do not plan to use the
remote control handset for an extended period time. Do not use batteries of differing age or type.
Always discard of batteries safely.

1. POWER CORD SOCKET
This set operates on an AC power. The volt-
age is indicated on the Specifications page.
Never attempt to operate the set on DC
power.

Connect digital audio from various types of
equipment.
Note : In standby mode, these ports will not

Connect video out from an S-Video VCR to

Connection to External equipment

-You can connect additional equipment, such as VCRs, camcorders etc. to your set. However please
check with your manufacturers instruction books for specific information. Make sure all connections
are made with both your set and additional appliance unplugged from the mains to avoid damaging
your equipment.

Watching VCR
-In Video mode, TV automatically reverts to TV mode if
the CH D / E button or number buttons are pressed.
Connection 1
Set VCR switch to 3 or 4 and then tune TV to the
same channel number.
Connection 2
1. Connect the audio/video output jacks on VCR to the
corresponding input jacks on the TV. When connect-
ing the TV to a VCR, match the jack colors (Video =
yellow, Audio Left = white, and Audio Right = red).
2. Insert a video tape into the VCR and press PLAY on
the VCR. (Refer to the VCR owner’s manual.)
3. Use the INPUT button on the remote control to select
AV 1 ,AV2 or AV 3 . (If connected to S-VIDEO on back
panel, select the S-Video external input source.)

1. Connect the audio/video output jacks on Cable Box to the corresponding input jacks on the TV.
When connecting the TV to Cable Box, match the jack color
(Video = yellow, Audio Left = white, and Audio Right = red).
2 Use the INPUT button on the remote control to select AV 1 ,AV2 or AV 3 .
3. Select channels with the cable box remote control.
-
After subscribing to a local cable TV service and installing a
converter, you can watch cable TV channel.
-For further cable TV information, contact a local cable ser-
vice provider.
Connection 1
1. Select 3 or 4 with channel switch on cable box.
2. Tune the TV channel to the same selected output channel
of cable box.
3. Select channels at the cable box or with the cable box
remote control.
Watching external AV source
Connections
Connect the audio/video output jacks on the exter-
nal A/V equipment to the corresponding input
jacks on the TV. When connecting the TV to exter-
nal A/V equipment, match the jack color (Video =
yellow, Audio Left = white, and Audio Right = red).
Viewing Setup
1. Turn on the external A/V equipment.
2. Use the INPUT button on the remote control to
select AV 1 ,AV2 or AV 3 .
3. Operate the corresponding external equipment.

Audio output The phone sockets for a Hi-Fi amplifier system are on
the back of the set, L=left sound channel, R=right
sound channel.
If you connect an amplifier system, you can also play
the TV sound through the stereo amplifier system.
If you press the MUTE button, only the sound of the
TV’s speakers are switched off.

Connect the signal cable from the monitor output socket
of the PERSONAL COMPUTER to the HDMI INPUT
socket of the set.
Connect the audio cable from the PC to the AUDIO
INPUT sockets of the set.
Press the INPUT button to select HDMI1,HDMI2.
Switch on the HDMI, and the HDMI screen appears on
the set.
HDMI-DTV input signal : 480p-60Hz, 720p-50Hz,
720p-60Hz, 1080i-50Hz, 1080i-60Hz.
HDMI Interface with HDCP Copy Protection enables all-
digital rendering of video without the losses.
This TV SET can receive the High-Definition Multimedia
Interface(HDMI) or Input of Digital Visual Interface (DVI).

Connections
Connect the DVD video outputs to the COMPO-
NENT (Y, Pb, Pr) jacks and connect the DVD audio
outputs to the AUDIO jacks.
Viewing Setup
1. Turn on the DVD player, insert a DVD.
2. Use the INPUT button on the remote control to
select Component.
3. Refer to the DVD player's manual for operating
instructions.

Connecting PC (DTV)
Connect the signal cable from the monitor output socket
of the PERSONAL COMPUTER to the RGB IN socket of
the set.
Connect the audio cable from the PC to the AUDIO IN
sockets of the set.
Press the INPUT button to select PC-RGB.
Switch on the PC, and the PC screen appears on the set.
The set can be operated as the PC monitor.

Connecting Headphone
Insert the headphone plug to the headphone socket of the set.
You can listen to the sound through the headphone. To adjust
the headphone volume, press the F /Gbutton.
Control the volume of the headphone to the appropriate level.
Hearing for a long time with the high volume may damage the
eardrum.

Connecting Digital Audio
- Send the set’s audio to external audio equipment
(stereo system) via the Digital Audio Output (Optical).
Caution : Do not look into the optical output port.
Looking at the laser beam may damage your vision.
How to connect
Connect one end of an optical cable to the TV Digital
Audio (Optical) Output port.
Connect the other end of the optical cable to the digital
audio (optical) input on the audio equipment.

Basic operation

On and Off
First, connect power cord correctly.
At this moment the TV switches to standby mode.
If the set is in standby mode, press the POWER, D / Ebuttons on the remote control handset to switch
it on fully.
Press the POWER button on the remote control handset.
The set reverts to standby mode.
Press the power button again to switch the set standby mode.
Channel selection
You can select a channel number with the D / E or NUMBER buttons.
Volume adjustment
Press the F /G button to adjust the volume.
If you want to switch the sound off, press the MUTE button.
You can cancel it by pressing the MUTE, F /G,SOUND or MTS button.
On screen language selection
Press the MENU button and then use D / E button to select the SETUP menu.
Press the Gbutton and then use D / E button to select Language.
Press the Gbutton and then use D / Ebutton to select your desired language.
All the on screen displays will appear in the selected language.
Repeatedly press the MENU button to return to normal TV viewing.
Area Code selection
Press the MENU button and then use D / E button to select the SETUP menu.
Press the Gbutton and then use D / E button to select Area Code.
Press the G button and then use D / Ebutton to select USA + ATSC, KOREA + ATSC or Multi.
Press the OK button to “ Please, wait ” shows on the display.
When disappearing “ Please, wait ” TV turns off.
Turn on TV with POWER button on the remote controller pressed.

-The dialogue between you and your set takes place on screen with an operator menu.
The buttons required for the operating steps are also displayed.
-In this manual,the OSD (On Screen Display) may be different from your TV ’s because it is just
example to help the TV operation.
-The OSD (On Screen Display) displays differently depending on the input signal.
Press the MENU button and then use D / E
button to display each menu.
Press the Gbutton and then use D / E button to
select a menu item.
Press the Gbutton to display the sub menu
or the pull-down menu.
Change the setting of an item in the sub or pull-down

-In this manual,the OSD (On Screen Display) may be different from your TV ’s because it is just
example to help the TV operation.
-The OSD (On Screen Display) displays differently depending on the input signal.
Press the MENU button and then use D / E
button to display each menu.
Press the Gbutton and then use D / E button to
select a menu item.

or the pull-down menu.
Change the setting of an item in the sub or pull-down

Press the MENU button and then use D / E button
to select the STATION menu.
Press the G button and then use D / Ebutton to
select Auto.
Press the G button and then use D / Ebutton to
select Antenna or Cable.
Press the OK button to begin the channel search.
•Wait for auto channel to complete the channel
search cycle before choosing a channel. The TV
scans for over-the-air channels and then channels
provided by a cable service.
Memorizing the Channels with Auto
-For Auto channel to work, the channeling source must be connected to
the TV and the TV must be receiving channeling signals either over-the-
air or from a cable-type service provider.
• When the channel search is complete, use the
D
/
E
buttons to review the memorized chan-
nels.
• If you press the MENU button in Auto, the func-
tion will stop and only channels channeling up
to that time will remain.
• Auto channel function can memorize only the
channels which are being received at that time.
• Press the MENU to stop the Analog channel
scan and start Digital channel search.
• To stop Digital channel searching, press the
MENU button.

Add/Delete Channels with Manual
Press the MENU button and then use D / E button
to select the STATION menu.
Press the G button and then use D / Ebutton to
select Manual.
Press the G button and then use D / Ebutton to
select CH.
Press the F / Gbutton to select the channel number.
Press the D / Ebutton to select Storage.
Press the F / Gbutton to select Memory (add) or
Erase (delete).
Repeatedly press the MENU button to return to nor-
mal TV viewing.
The current channel is added to Memory or Erased
from the channel list.
-You can manually include or erase individual channels.
