2. Installation
Pre-installationPrecautions
Takenoteofthefollowingprecautionsbeforeyouinstallmother-
boardcomponentsorchangeanymotherboardsettings.
1.Unplugthepowercordfromthewallsocketbeforetouchingany
component.Failuretodosomaycauseseveredamagetothe
motherboard,peripherals,and/orcomponents.
2.Toavoiddamagingthemotherboardcomponentsduetostatic
electricity,NEVERplaceyourmotherboarddirectlyonthecarpet
orthelike.Alsoremembertousea groundedwriststraportouch
asafetygroundedobjectbeforeyouhandlecomponents.
3.HoldcomponentsbytheedgesanddonottouchtheICs.
4.Wheneveryouuninstallanycomponent,placeitona grounded
antstaticpadorinthebagthatcomeswiththecomponent.
5.Whenplacingscrewsintothescrewholestosecurethe
motherboardtothechassis,pleasedonotover-tightenthe
screws!Doingsomaydamagethemotherboard.
Beforeyouinsertthe775-LANDCPUintothesocket,pleasecheckif
theCPUsurfaceisuncleanorifthereisanybentpinonthesocket.
DonotforcetoinserttheCPUintothesocketifabovesituationis

slots,andsupportsDualChannelMemoryTechnology.Fordualchannelconfiguration,
youalwaysneedtoinstalltwoidentical(thesamebrand,speed,sizeandchip-
type)memorymodulesintheDDR2DIMMslotstoactivateDualChannelMemory
Technology.Otherwise,itwilloperateatsinglechannelmode.

theonboardVGAwillbedisabled.Ifyouinstalltheadd-onPCIExpress
VGAcardtoPCIE2(PCIEx16slot)andadjustthe"InternalGraphics
ModeSelect"BIOSoptionto[Enabled],theonboardVGAwillbeenabled,
andtheprimaryscreenwillbeonboardVGA.
Installinganexpansioncard
Step1.Beforeinstallingtheexpansioncard,pleasemakesurethatthepower
supplyisswitchedofforthepowercordisunplugged.Pleasereadthe
documentationoftheexpansioncardandmakenecessaryhardware
settingsforthecardbeforeyoustarttheinstallation.
Step2.Removethebracketfacingtheslotthatyouintendtouse.Keepthescrews
forlateruse.
Step3.Alignthecardconnectorwiththeslotandpressfirmlyuntilthecardis
completelyseatedontheslot.
