Your ASUS LCD Monitor is designed and tested to meet the latest standards of safety for information
technology equipment. However, to ensure your safety, it is important that you read the following
safety and maintenance instructions.
Safety instructions
• Beforesettingupthemonitor,carefullyreadallthedocumentationthatcamewiththe
package.
• Topreventreorshockhazard,neverexposethemonitortorainormoisture.
• Nevertrytodisassemblethemonitor.Thedangeroushighvoltagesinsidethemonitormay
result in serious physical injury.
• Ifthepowersupplyisbroken,donottrytoxitbyyourself.Contactaqualiedservice
technician or your retailer.
• Beforeusingtheproduct,ensurethatallcablesarecorrectlyconnectedandthepowercables
are not damaged. If you detect any damage, contact your dealer immediately.
• Slotsandopeningsonthebackortopofthemonitorareprovidedforventilation.Donot
block these slots. Never place this product near or over a radiator or heat source unless proper
ventilation is provided.
• Plugthemonitor’spoweradaptertothecorrectpowerratingbasedonthelabelorlocalpower
regulations.
• Donotoverloadpowerstripsandextentioncords.Overloadingcanresultinreorelectric

will protect the monitor from damage due to power surges.

• Ifyouencountertechnicalproblemswiththemonitor,contactaqualiedservicetechnicianor
your retailer.
This symbol of the crossed out wheeled bin indicates that the product (electrical, electronic

Monitor placement
1. Turn your desktop PC and your monitor o.
2. Disconnect the power and signal cables.
3. Firmly hold both sides to lift and carry your monitor. Do not lift your monitor by the stand.
Cleaning instructions
1. Turn your desktop PC and your monitor o.
2. Disconnect the power and signal cables.
3. Clean the monitor screen with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed
with a cloth dampened with a mild cleaner.

• Donotuseacleanercontainingalcoholoracetone.
• Donotspraythecleanerdirectlyonthescreenasitmaydripinsidethemonitorandcausean
electric shock.
LCD monitor behavior
• Themonitorscreenmayickerwhenyouuseitforthersttime.Turnyourmonitoro,then
turnitonagaintoensurethatyourmonitorstopsickering.
• Themonitorscreenmayappearunevenlybrightdependingonthedesktoppatternthatyou
use. Congure the screen to your preferred settings.
• Whenyouencounterablackorashingscreen,contactyourdealerortheASUSServiceCenter.
Do not try to x your monitor by yourself.

This port is for your desktop PC’s VGA connection.

Plug the power adapter or the DC cable into this port.

The Kensington®lock port allows you to secure your monitor using Kensington®

Attaching/removing your monitor to/from its base
Attaching your monitor to its base
To attach your monitor to its base:
1. Lay your monitor face down on a
table covered with soft cloth.
2. Attach the base to the stand.
3. Secure the base to the stand with
the bundled screw.

Removing your monitor from its base
To remove your monitor from its base:
1. Disconnect power and signal cables.
2. Lay your monitor face down on a table
covered with soft cloth.
3. With one hand rmly gripping the
stand, loosen and remove the screw that
secures the base to the stand.
4. Remove the base from the stand.

Connecting to your desktop PC
You can connect your monitor to your desktop PC’s onboard/discrete VGA or DVI-I port.
Connecting via the VGA port
Powering your monitor
Use the UL-listed ASUS Desktop PC LPS connector (12Vdc) or DT LCD MONITOR power adapter
(19Vdc) to supply power to your monitor.

Adjusting your monitor
You can adjust your monitor from 5 degrees to 20 degrees angle.
Orient your monitor within the given range to avoid damaging it.

Display (OSD) menu
Conguring the OSD menu
To congure the OSD menu:
1. Press the MENU button to activate the OSD menu.

2. Press and to navigate through the functions. Highlight and activate the
desired function by pressing the MENU button. If the function selected has a sub-menu,
press and again to navigate through the sub-menu functions. Highlight and
activate the desired sub-menu function by pressing the MENU button.
3. Press and to change the settings of the selected function.
4. To exit the OSD menu, press the button. Repeat step 2 and step 3 to adjust any other
function.

Reset selection, allowing you to maintain your setting or return to the preset mode.

• sRGB: compatible with sRGB color space, sRGB mode is the best choice for document editing.

allows you to view other image-related features enabled in your LCD monitor.

• Sharpness: the adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
• Aspect Control: allows you to view the display onscreen according to a set aspect ratio.
• ASCR: ASCR stands for ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio which allows the monitor to change its
contrast dynamically
• Position: allows you to change the horizontal and vertical position of your display onscreen.
• Focus: reduces Horizonal-line noise and Vertical-line noise of the image by adjusting (Phase)
and (Clock) separately. The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
Sharpness, Aspect Control, and ASCR are not user-congurable functions.
