standards to s it yo r req irements, whether it be for yo r stereo, m ltichannel, hi-fi or home theater
system. O r prod cts are renowned for their exceptional performance and nrivaled reliability. We are
s re that they will provide yo with complete satisfaction for many years to come.

PRECAUTIONS, WARNINGS:
Explanation of Graphical Sym ols:
The lightning flash with arrowhead sym ol, within the equilateral triangle, is intended to
alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the product’s
enclosure that may e of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to
persons.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the
presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature
accompanying the appliance.
Before installing your su woofer, this user manual must e read thoroughly. If you have any dou ts a out how to connect the equipment, ask
for advice from your dealer.
-Do not expose this prod ct to rain or h midity and do not insert foreign bodies inside the device.
-
Do not se the s bwoofer close to a so rce of extreme heat (radiator, etc.).
-If the power cable does not perfectly fit in yo r mains socket, cons lt an electrician and replace the socket. The power cable m st never be
walked or pinched. The mains socket m st stay accessible at all time.
-
Do not overload the mains sockets, m lti-sockets or extension cables to avoid electrical shocks.
-
Switch the s bwoofer off when not in se (1). In case of lightning storm or long absence, disconnect from the mains (3).
-
Only connect the device with the mains type indicated on the device’s silkscreen or specific label. If yo have any do bt, cons lt yo r
electricity s pplier or device dealer.
-
Ventilation: Ens re that the front panel of the amplifier remains « nobstr cted ». Do not cover the s bwoofer or install it inside a closed
cabinet.
-
Never dismantle the amplifier mod le control panel to avoid the risk of electroc tion. Yo r dealer and/or a q alified technician m st be
contacted for any and all servicing req irements.
-
F se: In the event of a complete fail re to f nction, first disconnect the power cable from the mains, and then check the mains f se. When
replacing the f se, only se a f se which is absol tely identical to the original one. If this does not solve the problem, please contact yo r
dealer for assistance.
-
Never allow an o tp t wire to come into contact with the earth gro nd (the amplifier chassis).
-
Never handle the (6), (7), (12), (13), and (14) switches when the “Standby/On” switch (4) is ON. Always t rn off the nit on STANDBY prior to
handle these switches
-
Never change the factory settings which are locked by a screw (see control panel section).
-Cleaning and maintenance: Yo r s bwoofer enclos re is made o t of MDF (medi m density fiberboard) with a nat ral veneer wood finish. No
special maintenance is req ired. For cleaning p rposes always se a soft cloth, which may be slightly moistened if necessary (we recommend
the se of soft “micro-fiber” cloths). WARNING: Never apply solvents, detergents or any other alcohol based prod cts.
-Do not se accessories other than the s ch s pplied with the device or explicitly recommended by the man fact rer.
-Transport: When sing a trolley, be caref l moving the device to avoid inj ries or damage d e to tipping.

SUBWOOFER PLACEMENT :
As a general r le we advise yo to place yo r s bwoofer at the front of the room, in
line with the main speakers. Getting closer to a wall, and even more to a corner, will
nat rally amplify the so nd of the s bwoofer. Therefore, the position labeled “3+”
on the drawing will bring the highest so nd press re level and efficiency. In doing so,
yo will also stim late the nat ral reverberations of the room. The position labeled
“2+” is a good compromise between efficiency (so nd press re level) and
homogeneity (co pling with main speakers). The position labeled “1+” favor
homogeneity (co pling with main speakers, red ction of s bwoofer’s location) and
slightly red ces room reverberations (b t also perceived efficiency). According to
yo r integration constraints, placing the s bwoofer on the sides or behind yo r
listening position (labeled “-“ on the drawing) is not strictly excl ded. However, this
type of positioning ind ces an inconsistency that makes the s bwoofer‘s location
easier to detect while listening (yo r ears identify the s bwoofer’s position more
easily, which leads to a less consistent so nd stage). If yo have the possibility to
experiment with vario s positions, do so and take on the one that, in yo r listening
conditions and d e to yo r criteria, provides the best res lt while listening.
A wall, and/or a corner, will naturally amplify the sound of your subwoofer,
sparing work to the amplifier (compared to subwoofer in the center of the room with a fixed sound level: you gain +6d against a wall, +12d in a
corner, knowing that doubling the amplifier’s power only results in a gain of +3d of sound level).
STEREO CONFIGURATION
If yo r integrated amplifier (or preamplifier) has a « pre-o t » low level o tp t, connect the low level inp ts of the mod le to the o tp ts (Left and
Right). If yo r amplifier does not have « pre-o t » o tp ts, then connect the speaker o tp ts of the device to the « High Level » inp ts of the
s bwoofer amplifier mod le (this connection is parallel to the speakers).
It is imperative to observe polarities (risks of damage to both devices)!! WARNING: Never connect High evel and ow evel Inputs at the same
time.
Associated settings
Warning: switches (6) and (7) must only be handled when the Standby/On switch (4) is on STAND Y.
Adj st the Freq switch (8) according to yo r main speakers’ size (between 9 and 12 o’clock for floor-standers and between 12 and 3 o’clock for
bookshelf models). Please note that this setting is not linear.
Adj st the filter’s slope (6) according to yo r main speaker type: 12dB for sealed enclos re
and 24dB for bass reflex enclos re.
If the EQ switch (12) is set on “linear” position, the phase switch (7) m st be set on 180° for a
12dB slope, or 0° for a 24dB slope. If the EQ switch (12) is set on “closed” position, then the
phase switch (7) m st be set on 0° for a 12dB slope, or 180° for a 24dB slope.
Adj st the vol me (9) as desired.
HOME CINEMA CONFIGURATION
Connect the “SUB PRE-OUT” o tp t of the integrated amplifier or a dio-video
processor/preamplifier to one of the “Low Level” inp ts of the s bwoofer’s
amplifier mod le.
If yo want to set the high c t-off freq ency of the s bwoofer sing yo r a dio-
video processor, it sho ld be done by setting the slope selector (6) on “LFE”
position. The c t-off freq ency adj stment (8) is then disabled so that it can be
set in the “set p” men of yo r a dio-video device.
However, if yo want to adj st the c t-off freq ency sing the s bwoofer’s
amplifier mod le, yo sho ld set the c t-off freq ency to its maxim m val e on
yo r a dio-video device. Then follow the “associated settings” indications of the
previo s chapter: stereo config ration.

MONO POWER CONFIGURATION (warning, unsuitable for subwoofer use)
For mono power se, we have eq ipped o r amp mod les with an internal switch (15) that can bypass all filtering and
protection stages. Note that the connected speakers won’t be protected against a potential overpower anymore (risks
of mechanical/thermal breakdown, see excl sions of warranty). Set the vol me (9) with great care. The settings (6), (7),
(8), (12), (13), and (14) are disabled when sing this config ration. Only the vol me knob (9) remains active. This
config ration is appropriate for specific ses of o r mod les only, s ch as broadband se or in the man fact re of
powered monitors.
