Bracket fixing instructions for solid walls
Caution
The Vertex 3 speaker weighs approximately 26 kg; ensure adequate precautions are taken to handle
it, in order to avoid any personal injury.
Equipment required:
• Electrical drill (with hammer action)
• Masonry drill bit (5.5 mm)
• Electrical cable/pipe/stud detector
• Dust mask
• Goggles
• Philips screw driver
• Spirit level
Fitting speakers to an interior wall
After finding the ideal speaker location required.
Scan the area immediately around the speaker location using the electrical cable and pipe detector, no
audible warning indicates the ok to proceed with the installation.
If drilling into a block or brick wall minimum safety equipment such as safety goggles and a dust mask
are recommended.
Using the electrical drill set to hammer action proceed to drill to depth of approximately 30mm with
the 5.5mm masonry bit. A Rawlplug (supplied) is inserted into the opening.

As illustrated place a screw and washer into the left opening of the wall bracket, after partially
tightening, place the small spirit level on top of the bracket and the location of the second screw hole
can be marked. The bracket moved slightly to allow drilling and fitting of the second screw. Finally
again using the spirit level, adjust the bracket for optimum position. All screws are then fully tightened
From the right hand edge of the first fixed bracket measure 120mm and mark a small vertical line. This
will be the position of the second bracket. Using a spirit level or a straight edge align the top positions
of the two brackets. Using the same instructions secure the second bracket.
The photo above illustrates both brackets aligned and secured ready to receive the
Vertex 3 speaker.

Cable connections
The Vertex 3 speaker is bi- amplified requiring two channels of amplifier to provide separate channels
to drive the bass and the mid-treble separately using distinct filtered signal sources.
This can be achieved either by feeding two power amplifier channels with separate filtered outputs
from an outboard DSP crossover (like the Control DP 48), or by using an amplifier providing included
channel DSP processing (like the DSP-Quattro 06).
The cable requirements for the V3 are four cores 2.5mm2(US: 13 AWG), oxygen-free copper. Two
cores are allotted to the bass and two to the mid-treble. The suitable plug for the speaker end is a
NL4FC and two NL2FX for the amplifier ends.
