Remote Control Automotive Security System
Congratulations! Your purchase of this state-of-the-art security system expresses a deep
concern for the security of your vehicle, its contents, and passengers. To fully appreciate
the many functions and safeguards incorporated in this system, please spend a few minutes
reading this manual. You may find unexpected features that could mean the difference
between "protected" and "fully protected".









Additional Vehicle Operation - When programmed, this feature will allow the operator
to control a second vehicle with a similar PS-Series Audiovox Alarm.
Window Roll Up - This feature allows the operator, the option to have all windows
close with the push of a button on the remote transmitter.













ARMING THE SYSTEM (CHANNEL 1) : ACTIVE
1. Turn off the engine, exit the vehicle, and close and lock all doors, hood, and trunk.
2. Press and release button #1 on the keychain transmitter. The siren will "chirp" once,
the vehicle's parking lights will flash once, the doors will lock, and the dash mounted
L.E.D. will begin to slowly flash.
WARNING! Excessive pressure on the transmitter buttons will damage the
internal components on the circuit board. All that is required is
a light push to the button.
NOTE: If the siren "chirped" three times when ARMING, then one of the entry points
(hood, trunk, doors) has been left opened. Closing the hood, trunk, or doors will correct
the problem, and you do not need to disarm the system to make the correction.

YOUR KEYCHAIN TRANSMITTERS:
The transmitters included with this security system are pre-programmed at the factory,
with button assignments (channels) prioritized in a standard format. You can select which
transmitter button controls a particular function, (see the transmitter programming guide).
This manual explains the operation of the system assuming that the transmitter buttons are
prioritized in their standard, factory pre-set format.
ARMING THE SYSTEM (CHANNEL 1) : PASSIVE
1. Turn off the engine, exit the vehicle, and close and lock all doors, hood, and trunk.
2. The dash mounted L.E.D. will begin to flash rapidly, indicating that the system is
automatically (passive) arming. As an added convenience, the automatic passive
arming will not begin until all doors and trunk lid are closed, allowing passengers to
exit the vehicle at their convenience.
3. In 30 seconds, you will hear a single short "chirp" from the siren, and the vehicle's
parking lamps will flash one time, indicating the system is ARMED. At this time, the
dash mounted L.E.D. will begin to flash slowly, providing a visual indication that the
system is fully ARMED.
OPTION NOTE: The alarm control module can be programmed to...
a) Automatically lock the doors during step 3 above or,
b) Only lock the doors when step 4 below is executed.
4. If you wish to arm the system immediately, simply press and release button #1 on the
keychain transmitter. The siren will "chirp" once, the vehicle's parking lamps will
flash once, the doors will lock, and the dash mounted L.E.D. will begin to slowly flash.

PROTECTION WHILE THE SYSTEM IS ARMED:
1. Opening any door, hood or trunk will cause the alarm to immediately sound. The siren
will continue to sound for 30 seconds, then stop and automatically re-arm the vehicle.
If the potential thief left a door opened, the siren will sound for six 30 second cycles,
then re-arm and ignore the opened door zone.
2. Whenever the system is armed, the Red dash mounted L.E.D. indicator will slowly
flash. This serves as a visual deterrent to the potential thief. The L.E.D. is a very low
current bulb, and will not cause the vehicle's battery to drain, even when left
unattended for extended periods.
3. Whenever the system is triggered, the vehicle's parking lights will flash for the 30
second alarm cycle, attracting added visual attention to the vehicle.
4. Whenever the system is triggered, the interior courtesy lights will flash for the duration
of the full alarm cycle.
5. Whenever the system is armed, the vehicle's starter will be bypassed. If a thief should
choose to ignore the siren, the vehicle can not be started.
DISARMING THE SYSTEM (CHANNEL 1):
1. As you approach the vehicle, press and release button #1 on the keychain transmitter.
2. The siren will "chirp" 2 times, the vehicle's parking lamps will flash two times, the
doors will unlock, and the vehicle's interior courtesy light will turn on for approxi-
mately 30 seconds, indicating the system is DISARMED.
NOTE: If the optional 2-step unlock feature was installed, then only the driver's door
will unlock during step 2 above. To disarm the alarm and unlock all doors, press the
transmitter button two times within three seconds. The alarm will disarm, and all
doors will unlock.
3A. ACTIVE : The dash mounted L.E.D. will turn off, and remain off until the system is
re-armed.
3B. PASSIVE : Never attempt to disarm the system from a distance that prevents you from
opening a door within 30 seconds. Since the system is programmed for passive
arming, it will begin to re-arm until a door is opened. Opening the door will suspend
the passive arming cycle.

VALET / SYSTEM OVERRIDE SWITCH:
The "Valet" switch allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm functions, eliminating the
need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants or garage mechanics. When the system
is in valet mode, all alarm functions are bypassed, however, the remote panic feature and
remote door locks will remain operational. To use the valet mode;
1. Enter the vehicle and turn the ignition key to the "on" position.
2. Move the valet toggle switch to the "on" position within 10 seconds of step 1. The
dash mounted L.E.D. will turn on solid, and remain on as long as the system is in the
valet mode.
3. To return to normal operation, move the valet switch to the "off" position any time
the ignition is on.
In the event you lose your keychain transmitter, or if the transmitter fails to disarm
the system, the valet switch can be used as a system override switch. Open the car
door (the alarm will sound). Turn the ignition key on, and move the valet switch to
the "on" position within 10 seconds. The alarm will stop sounding, and the vehicle
can now be started.
NOTE: Always remember to move the Valet Switch back to the "off" position. This will
ensure that the vehicle remains protected at all times.
INTRUSION WARNING SIGNALS:
The system will inform you if an intrusion attempt has occurred while you were away from
the vehicle. If an intrusion attempt has occurred, the siren will "chirp" 4 times when
disarming the system.
The vehicle's parking lights will also flash 3 times to indicate an intrusion has occurred.
Enter the vehicle and observe the dash mounted L.E.D. for further information.
1. If the L.E.D. is flashing one time...pause...one time... etc., then an intrusion attempt was
made to a voltage sensing, light activated entry point, or to an optional sensor that has
been connected to zone 1.
2. If the L.E.D. is flashing two times...pause...two times...etc., then an intrusion attempt
was made to the hood, trunk, or an optional sensor that has been connected to zone 2.
3. If the L.E.D. is flashing three times...pause...three times...etc., then an intrusion attempt
was made through one of the vehicle's doors.
These intrusion warning indicators are stored in the system's memory, and will only be
erased from memory when the ignition key is turned on.

ELIMINATING THE ARM / DISARM CHIRPS:
The normal arming and disarming confirmation “chirps” can easily be turned on and off
using the valet toggle switch. To do this....
1. The valet switch must be in the “off” position.
2. Turn the ignition key on, and then off.
3. Within 10 seconds of turning the ignition key off, move the valet toggle switch to on
- off - on - off - on - then off.
4a. If, before proceeding with step 1, the chirps were on, then you will hear 2 chirps to
indicate that the chirps have been turned off.
4b. If, before proceeding with step 1, the chirps were off, then you will hear 1 chirp to
indicate that the chirps have been turned on.
5. Whenever power to the system is disconnected (for repair or service of the vehicle),
the chirps will be active when the power is re-connected. To turn the chirps off, simply
execute steps 1 through 3 above.
NOTE: Whenever the chirps are by-passed, the 3 chirp defective zone and the 4 chirp
intrusion indicator will always operate. This feature will always warn you if a zone is
active during arming or the vehicle was tampered with in your absence, even if the
normal arming and disarming chirps have been turned off.
The arming button on your keychain transmitter also functions as a "panic" switch for
instant activation of the alarm in emergency situations. To use the remote panic switch;
1. Press and hold the arming button on the keychain transmitter for 3 seconds or more.
The alarm will immediately sound.
2. To stop the alarm, press and release the arming button on the keychain transmitter.
If the button is not pressed, the alarm will automatically stop after 30 seconds.
WARNING! Excessive pressure on the transmitter buttons will damage the
internal components on the circuit board. All that is required is
a light push to the button.

This security system has an on-board trunk release relay, that will activate the existing
factory installed electronic trunk release switch.
To remotely open the trunk, press and hold button #2 on the keychain transmitter for 3
to 4 seconds.
ADDITIONAL REMOTE FUNCTION (CHANNEL 3):
This security system has an additional feature that can be wired or programmed to operate
a number of different optional accessories. Some of the more common uses for this
"channel" are;
* Remote Car Starter - available for most automatic transmission, fuel injected
vehicles.
* Remote Window Roll Up - available for most vehicles equipped with power
windows.
* Garage Door Opener - available for use with electric garage door openers.
* Additional Vehicle Control - Available to control a second vehicle equipped with
a similar PS-Series Audiovox alarm.
To activate the optional accessory;
1. Press and release button #3 on the keychain transmitter momentarily.
2. The optional accessory that has been wired or programmed to CHANNEL #3 will now
engage.

d'un antivol Audiovox similaire de série PS.
Remontage de glace-Cette caractéristique donne à l'opérateur la possibilité de faire remonter
toutes les glaces en appuyant sur un bouton de l'émetteur à distance.

ARMEMENT DU SYSTÈME (VOIE 1): ACTIF
LES ÉMETTEURS DE CHAîNE PORTE-CLÉS
FONCTIONNEMENT DU SYSTÈME:
Les émetteurs de chaîne porte-clés livrés avec ce système de sécurité sont pré-programmés en usine,
les boutons (voies) étant affectés de façon standard. L'utilisateur peut choisir les boutons de l'émetteur
commandant des fonctions particulières, (se reporter au guide de programmation de l'émetteur).
Ce manuel explique le fonctionnement du système en partant du principe que les boutons de l'émetteur
sont programmés au format standard d'usine.

1. Couper le contact, sortir du véhicule et fermer toutes les portières, le capot et le coffre.
2. Appuyez momentanément sur le bouton #1 de l'émetteur porte-clés puis relâchez-le. La sirène
"piaule" une fois, les feux de stationnement du véhicule clignotent une fois, les portes se verrouillent
(l'option), et le voyant DEL monté sur le tableau de bord commence à clignoter lentement.
AVERTISSEMENT! En appuyant trop fort sur les boutons de l'émetteur, on risque
d'endommagerlescomposantsinternesducircuitimprimé. IIsuffitd'appuyerlégèrementsur
le bouton.
NOTE:Silasirène"piaule"trois fois lors de l'ARMEMENT, c'est que l'un des points d'entrée (capot,
coffre ou portes) est resté ouvert. La fermeture du capot, du coffre ou des portes corrige le problème
et il est inutile de désarmer le système pour effectuer la correction.
ARMEMENT DU SYSTÈME (VOIE 1): PASSIF
1. Couper le contact, sortir du véhicule et fermer toutes les portières, le capot et le coffre.
2. La diode électroluminescente (DEL) commence à clignoter rapidement indiquant que le système est
enphased'armementautomatique(passif). Pour faciliter l'utilisation, l'armement passif automatique
ne débute pas tant que toutes les portes et le coffre ne sont pas fermés, ce qui laisse aux passagers
tout le temps nécessaire pour descendre du véhicule.
3. 30 secondes après, la sirène émet un "piaulement" court unique et les feux de stationnement clignotent
une seule fois, indiquant que le système est ARMÉ. En même temps, la diode électroluminescente
montée sur le tableau de bord commence à clignoter lentement, fournissant une indication visuelle
que le système est complètement ARMÉ.
REMARQUE SUR L'OPTION: Le module de commande de l'alarme peut être programmé pour...
a) Verrouiller automatiquement les portes lors de l'étape 3 ci-dessus
ou,
b) Verrouiller uniquement les portes lorsque l'étape 4 est achevée.
4. Pour armer immédiatement le système, il suffit d'appuyer sur le bouton #1 de l'émetteur de chaîne
porte-clés et de le relâcher. La sirène "piaule" une seule fois, les feux de stationnement du véhicule
clignotent une seule fois, les portes se verrouillent et la diode électroluminescente montée sur le
tableau de bord commence à clignoter lentement.
