Amplifier Mute Interface AMI-030
The Amplifier Mute Interface module (AMI-030) is designed to allow the
integration of a hands free kit into a low level amplified system. This will allow
the hands free kit to stream audio through all of the speakers powered from the
amplifier.
The AMI-030 module is designed to allow the low level signal from the head
unit to pass through to the amplifier until the mute wire from the phone kit is
activated. Once activated the AMI-030 will convert the high level stereo signal
form the phone kit audio output to the low level required by the amplifier, and
then transfer the audio to the amplifier from the head unit to the phone kit.
The AMI-030 will supply all the connections required to the hands free kit
including power. The universal ISO loom is supplied.
It is recommended to connect the 030 module and loom first and regain full
audio control from the original car stereo before fitting the phone kit.
The AMI-030 module also has a selectable grounding option which, if needed
will isolate the audio ground from the power ground to reduce interference and
suppression. If you find that during use there is a noticeable background noise
then adjust the grounding options using the dipswitches located next to the LED.

Fitting Guide
1, Locate the Quadlock plug on the rear of the stereo and connect the SOT-
1006 loom to the corresponding plugs.
2, Check that the positive and negative low level audio wires are correctly
positioned.
3, If fitted, ensure the amp turn on wire is routed from the stereo to pin 6 of
the ISO block.
4, If this pin 6 is not used in the stereo, then carefully remove the blue wire
from the male ISO plug and connect it to the amp turn/Antenna on wire
on the stereo.
5, Ensure the amp remote wire output on the female ISO socket is routed to
the amplifier only.
6, Connect the SOT-1006 loom to the AMI-030 module.
7, Power the head unit and test operation of the amplifier and stereo.
8, Connect the hands free kit to the AMI-030 module.
9, Test the hands free kit.
10, Securely install the AMI-030 module and secure looms.

Trouble shooting guide
No audio from Head unit
Check the amp turn on wire is activated from the head unit and showing 12 volts.
Check the amplifiers are turning on and off.
Ensure that the phono leads are correctly fitted.
Check the LED status on the AMI-030 module.
No Audio from the Hands free kit
Ensure that the audio and mute wires are connected and working.
Check the settings on the phone kit are correct for standard ISO operation.
Check the LED status on the AMI-030 module
Hints and Tips
If possible, tune the amplifiers to the music streaming phone kit, once set the
head unit can then be adjusted.
If background noise and suppression is evident then select the various grounding
options to eliminate the suppression.
