1.0 INTRODUCTION
Thanks for purchasing this product from the AV Toolbox Division of TV One. The
AVT-4000 Series Audio/Video Distribution Amplifiers allow a user to multiply the
video output of a Composite Video or S-Video device and its Stereo Audio signal
either four or eight times, allowing the viewing of one signal at up to eight
different locations and/or providing a method to send one audio and video output
to up to eight different devices such as VCRs. This is but one of our complete

1.3 Getting the Best Results
There are many factors affecting the quality of results when distributing video and
audio signals. Some basic precautions will ensure the best possible performance
from your AVT-4000 Series Audio/Video Distribution Amplifiers.
Output display device – The quality of the output signal will depend
largely upon the type and quality of the display device used. For
instance, some video projectors just look better than others.
Distance between the DA, the sources and the display – This plays
a major role in the final result. Long distances are possible, but special
measures should be taken in order to avoid cable losses. These
include using high quality cables.
Input/Output connection cables – Low quality cables are susceptible
to interference. They degrade signal quality due to poor matching and
can cause elevated noise levels. Cables should be of the best quality.
Interference from nearby electrical devices – These can have an
adverse effect on signal quality. For example, an older computer
monitor often emits very high electromagnetic fields that can interfere
with the performance of video equipment in its proximity.

4.0 CONNECTING THE HARDWARE
Connect the video source’s output to the input of the AVT-4000 Series
Audio/Video Distribution Amplifier and then connect the 4 or 8 video outputs to
the destination display or recorder device. Next, connect the line level Stereo
Audio (R, L) output from the source device to the AVT-4000 series audio input
connectors and connect the line level Stereo Audio (R, L) output connectors of
the AVT-4000 series product to the destination devices. A sample hook-up
diagram is shown below using the AVT-4714 as an example.
Lastly, connect the AC to DC Power Adapter to the AVT-4000 series product.

4.1 Product Drawings
The drawings below show the location of the input, outputs and power connector

5.0 OPERATING THE AVT-6114
The AVT-4000 Series Audio/Video Distribution Amplifiers require no operator
intervention. Simply connect the source and destination devices as shown above,
connect the AC Adapter, and press the power button.
6.0 TROUBLESHOOTING
In the event of problems, first make certain make certain that the AVT-4000
Series Audio/Video Distribution Amplifier is receiving power and that the input
and output cables are of the highest possible quality. If the signal displayed at
the destination location is present, but noisy, a cable(s) is probably defective or
the cable run is to long.
If you experience problems using an AVT-4000 series product, you should try
attaching the source device directly to each destination device using the same
cables you are using with the expanded system. This is a way of determining if
the problem is due to bad cables or a problem with the other devices. If you are
unable to obtain a signal using this simplified path, suspect the cables, the
source device or the destination device(s).
After trying the above suggestions should the problem still persist, contact your
dealer for additional suggestions before contacting TV One. Should the dealer’s
technical personnel be unable to assist you, contact TV One via our support
website: http://tvone.crmdesk.com. Create a technical support request on the
site and our support team will respond within a short period of time.
