1. Introduction
Electric connector
All attachments with electric functions can be connected to the loader by using one of the folowing ways:
1. Use a separate cable kit with a switch, supplied with the attachment
2. Operate with Attachment control switch pack, with a separate electric socket on the loader boom
3. Operate with the new Attachment control switch pack, with the electric socket integrated in the multi
connector.
An adapter A36679 is supplied with all attachments delivered after January 1st 2016. This manual will
show how to install the adapter to the attachment connector.
Electric socket is integrated in the multi connector on all loaders equipped with attachment control
switch pack from January 1st 2016. The socket can be retrofitted to the loader multi connector with
adapter A36869.
This manual will also show how to fit the adapter to the loader connector.

switch pack A34700 into the version
with electric socket integrated into the
multi connector
Adapter A36869 includes all
necessary components for
installation.
The adapter completes the Multi
connector system by adding a socket
on the lower right hole of the loader
multi connector, when seen from the
front of the machine.
All electric connections of the retrofit adapters for converting the separate socket next to the loader multi
connector to the integrated socket will be made with quick fittings, no electric wire work is needed.

1.2 Attachment control switch pack - Electric connector integrated in the
multi connector
Electric connection for attachment integrated into the multi connector system makes changing of an
attachment with electric functions even easier and quicker, as all hydraulic hoses and the electric harness of
the attachment are connected to the loader simultaneously. If a loader manufactured after January 1st 2016 is
equipped with the optional Attachment control switch pack, the electric socket is already integrated in the
loader connector. All loaders with electric socket next to the multi connector can be upgraded to the new
system.
From January 1st 2016 the Attachment
control switch pack option is available on all
articulated Avant loaders with the following
product numbers, in these the electric socket
is integrated to the multi connector:
A36880 Attachment control switch
pack for 200 series 2
A36878 Attachment control switch
pack for 400-700 series
A36879 Attachment control switch
pack forR series
Attachment control
pack - Extra switches
on boom control lever

How to operate an attachment with electric features, if the attachment control switch pack is not
upgraded
In case the adapter is not fitted on the loader, the attachment can be operated with the loader control
switch pack by unplugging the electric wire from the attachment multi connector and then fitting it to the
socket next to the loader socket, or with the electric wire harness with a separate switch. However, it is
recommended to install the adapter A36869 to the loader connector to have full advantage of the quick
coupling system.
If the loader is fitted with the socket on the multi connector, but the attachment has separate electric plug,
the adapter A36679 must be fitted on the attachment multi connector. All attachments with electric
features can be upgraded to have all connectors in the multi connector system
If the loader is not equipped with the attachment control switch pack or the multi connector
All attachments with electric features are equipped with a separate cable, as before, making it possible to
operate it without the attachment control switch pack. This wire is equipped with a separate switch to control
the electric functions of the attachment. Some attachments may require that the attachment control switch
pack is fitted to make it possible to control all electric functions.
If the multi connector, or the attachment control switch pack have not been fitted to your loader, they can be
also retrofitted to most loaders. Contact your Avant dealer or service point for more information.

2. Safety

Lower the loader boom completely down and depressurize hydraulics when working
near the loader connector.
Disconnect battery before working on the loader.
Make sure the connectors are aligned correctly. Incorrect alignment may cause
sparking and damage the electric systems of the attachment and the loader.
Test the operation of the electric functions of the attachment at a safe location to
make sure the connections are made correctly.

3. Multi connector system with electric connection
3.1 Fitting the electric connector to attachment multi connector
If the loader is equipped with the electric socket integrated into the multi connector, the attachment connector
can be fitted with adapter A36679.
The adapter A36679 is equipped with all attachments with electric functions, and which are delivered after
January 1st 2016.
The adapter A36679 can be purchased separately and fitted to update all attachments already equipped with
the multi connector.
Fitting the electric socket to attachment coupler
1. Remove the plug from the attachment
coupler.
If the plug is solid type, remove by
forcing the plug out, by using a hammer
and a bolt, for example
If the plug is threaded on the connector,
and has a hexagonal on it, remove with
an Allen key
2. Bolt the attachment socket to the multi
connector with the three provided screws,
making sure that the attachment socket is
correctly oriented.
The marker on the electric socket must
point to corresponding marker on the
multi connector, so that the pins are
aligned correctly.
The marker on the loader socket will
then be aligned with the marker on the
attachment connector plug.
3. Fasten the electric plug of the attachment
to the installed adapter on the multi
connector.

3.2 Fitting the electric connector to loader multi connector
If the loader is equipped with the previous type attachment control switch pack A34700 (socket is not on the
multi connector), and new attachments with socket on the multi connector need to be mounted, the adapter
A36869 can be easily fitted to the loader multi connector. The following instrucions show how to integrate the
separate electric socket next to the multi connector into the multi connector system.
It is possible to continue using an attachment without fitting the socket on the loader coupler. In this case, the
electric socket must be connected directly to the plug next to the multi connector of the loader.
Disconnect battery before installation work
The loader battery must be disconnected before beginning installation of the attachment
socket on the loader. Before the socket is fitted correctly, contact with metal structures of
the loader wil cause shorting the electric circuit.
To fit the electric socket to loader multi connector:
1. Disconnect the loader battery
2. Turn the retainer ring of the old socket to open and
remove it
3. Unplug the electric cable from the old socket
4. Slide the adapter A36869 to the empty hole on the
loader connector:
a) Put the protective cap first in
b) Slide the spring in
c) Push the socket in the hole. If it doesn’t slide
easily, make sure to push and keep the spring in
the hole first
d) Make sure the socket is properly oriented. The
small indicator lump on the connector must point to
upper left direction when seen from the driver’s seat
e) Secure the connector with three provided screws,
making sure that the attachment socket is correctly
oriented
5. Fit the electric connector of the original socket to the
new installed adapter. Make sure the electric cable is
not pinned or get stretched in useTo fit the electric
socket to loader multi connector:
Incorrect alignment of the plug can damage the electric systems of the attachment or the
loader. Make sure the plug aligns with the socket on the loader correctly.
